I am so jealous. :-P This is totally my dream business. But as for right now, I'm broke & my worms sleep next to my bed in a bucket. Thank you all for allowing me to live vicariously through you.
That's a beautiful worm farm. I have a little bin on my tiny apartment deck that I feed my scraps to. I harvest the castings to go into my little vegetable garden that I also have growing on my deck. My plants grow up so beautiful and full and delicious. Voila! Sustainable eating for a city apartment dweller. :) Thanks for showing us your farm. That looks like very fun work to me!
.....I have euro's and red worms. IN separate bins, what is an easy way to tell a difference between them? I can't really tell a difference. Thanks for you help!
hello Vermigrand, from 2.20 you show the smart harvest system below the worm beds. How does this mechanism work? Secondly, you are so efficient with application of feed and the smart harvest system, but then you need to recover the harvested material that has discharged below the worm beds. I'm sure you have this worked out, can you advise how you collect this material efficiently please? thanks, Gus
@organicgardener66 You are right, this was the first ru when were starting the continuous flow process. In our new videos, you can see that it is moist now.
Hi, in 2:30, I've seen that the crumbs are just falling under, what did you use as bedding for it? is it a screen? and are those crumbs are falling by itself? or do you have to shake the bin? thanks
Alfred, your farm is wonderful! I want make something same in North Ireland. Could you say or write or paint what system you use at the bottom of your worm bed.
@cheeseasaurus55 , the one, you can find in your backyard soil not, the one you can find in your backyard compost heap - yes! You need composting worms, which you can find in compost, manure, mulch. Ask your neighbour, if you can look in his compost heap, or you have to buy them from worm breeders. Good luck!
You may think @alan30189´s question is not so important. Well it had me thinking seriously about that scene, thanks for the explanation and for the good time trying to figure out the case :) By the way, how do you finally harvest the humus, is it only falling by gravity or you have something incorporated that removes it without pretty much altering the system ?
Important question: I don't know if you read about the organic 'Biointensive' method of John Jeavons, but it has a lot of praise & backing from the scientific community as one of the most efficient growing methods in existence, if not The most efficient. I mention this because according to that method, vermicomposting is problematic because "worms tend to deplete organic matter unsustainably in their composting process and also make nutrients too available." I'd love to hear your view on this.
i wonder if you could mod this and add black soldier flies (feeding only one side) so the "watery hot part" is something they can crawl in and out of out
@alan30189 We trained the dog for years! After that, the bigger problems were the actors, beause they were not trained that way. Just kidding, we played the clip backwards!
The scene you seee at the end is the first part of , what you see at the beginning. the story was, that we opened the door and came in. when the dog saw me, he was running to me and coming with me towards the camera. At the end of the video, you see the scene backwards, so you see us disapearing, and the dog is running back to the camera!
Well, this is exactly, what the natural cycle is doing since millions of years. If you say, too much nutrients are plant available, then you just added too much product to your plants! In nature that does not happen. At the ned, one part of the natural cycle is providing food to the plants, storing all nutrients in organic matter just for itself does not feed the plant, nor you, bw Fred

Excellent business opportunity, I see. I'll post this to the local urban farm cooperative.
Thanks for showing your video, I enjoy watching

Thanks for the great video! I also enjoyed seeing the OSHA approved work platform!

Very nice operation.
Cool video.
There are not tops on the bins. So the worms don't climb out at all?
What's a good size bin for the basement of your house I want to raised a million worms but don't want a bin to long
Do you dry your vermicompost? Dosn't this reduce microbal activity?
Yes, it does make sense, so you can bring the nutrients faster to the roots!

its called flow through harvesting
how do you know when the worm casting is done???

Can I use used tea leaf in varmicompost making??
Hello ! What kind of feed mixer you use ? Tnx
What's the ratio of feed to castings? So if you start with 100 kilos of food, how many kilos of castings do you get?
How made this soil for the worm
I did not recognize!! thanks for telling, it should be "fertilizer"
We have to change that!

Yes, send an email to VERMIGRAND, you will find the adress on our homepage!
Alfred sounds like Count Dracula! 😂😂
this is sooo heady..I love this video
@cheeseasaurus55 , which one do you mean?
do you have more videos?
What about the cost of this facility?
we also offer licenses for VERMIC 3.5 (more developed then 3.2)
@jerrydff7 We harvest about 10 to 12 weeks after feeding. Int this time, with our population, we are sure, that the worm cast is done.
Are you still in business?

That's really cool!
Dear sir, do you supply systems and technology for Wormfarm.
We come from Vietnam
hi

Plz upload total process of work video
It is a Weidemann 1375CX

Is this attachment for sale?
you are welcome, sorry again for late!
thanks :)
uhh.. no. It just sort of looks like it because of the video compression. Switch to HQ mode and you'll see it's correct.
@alan30189 We trained the dog for years! After that, the bigger problems were the actors, beause they were not trained that way. Just kidding, we played the clip backwards!
@skitforbrains Actually, I kinda want to know that myself. I'd think the best outcome would be to keep the microbial activity viable.
Sorry for late, see answer above!
@cheeseasaurus55 not Earthworms only compost worms
Hi Alfred, The email you supplied doesn't work. Could you please update your email?
know anybody that researched why worms surface from vibration?

No, they do not climb out.
those 'advanced' machineries maintenance will take off a big chunk out of their earnings. human still doesn't totally trust nature's way.
5+
what's wrong with the dog!! hhhahahah
too dry, no micro organisems in this product, only furtilizer
Yes, send an email to VERMIGRAND, you will find the adress on our homepage!
