Thanks for watching. This was going to be my best video yet, but I lost almost all of the good footage into the void. I have no idea how or why that happened, as it was backed up. Until next time.
Hi Garrett! We used to own your boat. The engine was not installed in 2018. 2013 sounds about right. It's so nice to see her being enjoyed and it looks like a good fit for you! If you have any questions about her past I'd be happy to help. Fuel tank was replaced with the engine. Stainless steel glasses over. We have another Lyle Hess design now. A BCC 28.
Just surfing through the web and found your site. I have done much of what you are doing and watching your videos lets me relive my adventures. Thank you for that. I am 64 now, not too old, and probably much more agile than others of my generation, but don't have the way or means to cruz. My days today are in the mountains/Forrest where I teach snow skiing, go snowmobiling, dirt-biking and mountaineering. But I can't help but dream of days gone by under the hot sun, warm water, green jungles, fresh waterfalls and white sands. Be safe-Cheers!!!!!
when you have someone on your boat, you should introduce them interview them a little bit. It’s always very interesting for all of us that love watching you and you would get many more Patreon.
Yeah, everything is horribly expensive here other than some subsidized French cheeses and such. Looking forwards to getting to Fiji/Southeast Asia for that reason
Hey Garrett. When first installing your motor, not sure if you attached a 'saftey chain.' If not, make sure you do. Anything can work, even a small length of rope attaching the motor to the transom. If the motor ever comes unattached, it's gone. You'll never regret putting one on. Great video!
Man, I get caught up in the day-to-day rat race and nonsense that accompanies it- then I watch a video like this and can’t help but wonder if I’m doing this whole “life” thing completely wrong. Hats off to you my friend and happy sailing.
This kid is awesome. Has a great head on him and is very knowledgeable and mature at 19. Obviously he is the product of some great parenting, and (not saying this with any animosity at all) financial backing. Don't feel down on yourself for not having the opportunity to do this yourself. Best you can do is try everyday to be free in your life, whatever that may manifest itself in.
@@nickcristianbellantoni small, old, used sailboats are dirt cheap. $10k can easily get you something sea worthy if you're willing to put in time and work. And living aboard is cheaper than renting an apartment. I'm doing it now.
I really like how you explain what you’re doing and why, I’m interested in learning to sail myself and I love learning everything about it. Keep up the good work mate 🤙🏼
You're certainly living my dream amigo. I'm nearly 60 so it's not going to happen, but I'll say this, watching you do it helps to ease this yearning. One lifetime seems enough. It sure is when I'm hauling firewood or fixing the stone walls in the yard. How wonderful to have these videos of your adventures!
Hey Garret, some advice for the engine on the tender, put a padlock or shackle through they holes on the tightening lugs, many an engine has been lost when it's come loose mid trip.
Just found your channel a few days ago. I am hooked! Keep it up and please keep providing great adventure content! This is some of the best sailing/adventure content I have come across. You're not some arrogant model who is helped by 20 people just to make your videos look good. They are raw and I feel like I'm right there with you. Ma'halow brother!
Thanks for posting, Garrett ... always enjoy your videos ... hard to believe that you're only 19 or 20 years old! And the music at the end flowed-in very well. Wow, just noticed that you're over 100k subs ... good job!
He's back with another one! I don't know what it is about your channel specifically but I find your videos just great, you seem to have a real knack for talking on camera and explaining things clearly and calmly but still very entertaining. Best of luck to you mate from New Zealand
Wow this is the 2nd of yours that I’ve watched now. I’m really enjoying watching. Happens to be that I’m currently in Puerto Rico spending lots of time in the water and thinking about what you are DOING! I’m envious! Thanks for the videos
You belong on the sea. So smart to make your dreams come true. Your doing what people dream of. Your a brave man on his own be proud of your self. Love your channel it makes me happy! ⛵️
Sailing around the world has been dream for years. My dad was a sailer and I went out with him sometimes but he’s not in my life anymore so I lose all hope but you really inspire me
I have dreamt of FP since I was a kid. Didn't make it there until I was almost 40. Visited Rangi during my first trip and have been making sure to include it on the following trips. Did the drift dive thru the pass several times. Even snorkelled on my own once, jumping in from the outer reef and going in with the current. Great experience, but probably much to dangerous to recommend. Thanks for sharing and enjoy!
I worked at sea for a while stopt because of the kids. Now that ive watched all your videos it feels like im also living on a ship again . Very good content thanks
YESSS! Got covid yesterday and watched your most recent video in the middle of the night as I fevered away. Now I have one for tonight. Safe travels dude!
Thanks for the update Garrett! It’s been riveting to follow your adventures by far and I’m thirsty for more 🎉 Could you tell us briefly about your companion and why you parted as unexpectedly as you teamed up?
This has quickly become my favorite TH-cam channel! Any advice for someone considering pursuing this lifestyle? What do you do for income to be able to do this? Much love and good wishes my guy!
I was in the South Pacific 20 years ago for 4 months working with a marine research group. Looks like the Coral bleaching has continued. But the pass dive into Rangiroa was incredible! Enjoy those warm waters. Have a Hinano for me. 🦈
WOW THIS AND YOU IS AMAZING , I WATCHED THAT DOCUMENTARY OF THAT YOUNG GIRL WHO SAILD ACROSS THE GLOBE . I WAS AMAZED AT HER AND NOW YOU, BE SAFE AND LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING YOU VIDEOS
Be sure to take the time (and effort) to sail down the Abel Tasman National park down near Nelson. You've missed the summer season, but man, that place is literally paradise. Clear clear skies, sheltered coves and easy navigation. Anchor your yacht there and enjoy life for a while.
Thank you. You taught me more about anchoring in corals. I have never tried floats. And your new dinghy's design is smart. What's the drawback? Seems to keep its nose up.
Was this where crab rave was filmed
