0:03 Here, free of charge! The reddish flame of the campfire was lighting up the chieftain's serious face. His gaze, lost in the warm breath of the fire in front of him, marked how the attention he was paying to his dear childhood friend at that moment was indeed limited; the hunt had gone well that day too, the Hunter had blessed them with his gift of abundance and the spirits have guided their spears, but the drought seemed to have no end and although many hadn't noticed, he had already begun to notice the signs of herds moving to greener fields. Beyond the words of his friend, the wiseman was narrating a story to cheer them and accompany the evening meal, it was a story that the chieftain knew, the story of the now legendary chieftain who led his people across the steep slopes of the northward mountains, descended into the fetid marshes where many evil spirits still corrupted the bodies and minds of even the bravest of warriors... but at last he brought them to the glittering bay beyond the four great lakes, where fish abounded and game was prolific. The chieftain ran his eyes over the faces of all the people who had gathered around him in front of the fire, people who recognized in him the experience of someone who would have granted them survival in that ferocious world, people who had guaranteed him their trust. He nodded to himself and deeply inhaled the scent of the resin that was burning in the fire; he would have made his tribe survive even the drought and bring it into the next spring, this was his vow to the Hunter. Oh my god this is amazing!!!? I can't believe English is your second language this is so good! Thankyou and wow, that's really some beautiful writing! :DDD
@@hannahsmth Uh, ehm, don't worry. What I was saying is that I've really appreciated that you liked my prose (maybe I should have said it this way immediately -_-). I'm thinking about starting a channel where I write and then read short stories, so I've found your comment encouraging. That's all! :D
"Do you remember them Tala? Do their faces come back to you when you stare at the fire's warm light? Does it bring you back to when everything was innocent. When the world had let seen the first cities, when man walked among the giants of yore, or are they misshapen, twisted mockeries of them? Do you hear their voices, the beautiful songs they must of sang, the stories they had told to you when you slept on their laps, or are they just a deafening ringing nose that vaguely resemble their words, ringing like a buzzard constantly buzzing? What marvels could you tell me, what joys, what sorrows, the context to an ancient past so vastly behind us that we truly know nothing about. Isn't that not beautiful Tala...to be the only reminder of my ancestors most ancient past?"
