I love Mark's wonderfully clean performance. His note-perfect arrangements remind me of Lyn Larsen's playing - every note sounds like it belongs there. And, the sound of the Barton is magnificent.

It's always such a pleasure to hear your music. Especially here in Germany, where such organs are very rare.

Excellent as always, Mark! And the coat and tie gives a look of professional class!

Another great concert on one of the best preserved examples of Barton’s work! Bravo Mark!

If being the Boss was the goal, you achieved it. A real one man orchestra! I'm really enjoying all of the great music I have heard so far...
Not many people can do what you do with such a capable instrument, with the same kind of ease and confidence you have towards it. Even if you are faced with an giant wall of manuals and stops, you don't even flinch.
A lot of people can get lost in individual interpretation towards a specific instrument set or sound they want to achieve, but you always come through clutch, no matter what you're playing. 👍

Thanks Mark! Beautiful program. One of the few good things about the pandemic is that we get to hear organs we otherwise wouldn't hear!

Thank you Mark for yet another masterclass. Your arrangements, registrations and technique are absolutely the best. As a classical organist my entire life I wish I had discovered this wonderful world years ago when, perhaps, I was young enough to 'cross over' and learn.

Thank you Mark for your marvelous concert, it was a joy to listen. If tThis Barton Organ would be a car, than the sound and feeling of this Organ remainds me of a big V8 Muscle car of the sixtees. What a full big sound and acoustic !

Mark, I can't begin to tell you how much I've been enjoying your online performances during lockdown but this one is made even better by being performed on one of my all-time favourite instruments - I wish someone would sample this Barton for Hauptwerk! Another exemplary demonstration of your immense talent and artistry.

Thank you Mark it's beautiful to keep Theatre Organs alive in this modern age. We need to keep it alive for future generations. I grew up listening to George Wright styles as my Dad has his albums. :)

Hi from Windsor, UK. Your socially distanced concerts are most enjoyable, but I hope you can soon be thrilling a live audience. I wonder if you might add a couple of oldies to your repertoire - 'You ought to be in pictures', and It ain't no sin (to take off your skin and dance around in your skin'. Lee Morse does a nice version. You come across as the quintessential All American boy. If you ever decide to change careers consider doing ads for Colgate or Pepsodent. Sincerely, Julian.

Good example of how a theater organ can stand in for an orchestra.

Mark, a beautifully played program, so musical and putting the Barton thru its paces with its many textures. The integrity of you and your music came shining thru the entire time. Am wondering re all the hand registrations: not all the pistons/toe studs working? Nonetheless, marvelous stop tab negotiating thanks to your flexibility. Btw, really nice suit, too!

how on earth does any one play for 50 odd minutes with out refuring to any sheet music? its all from memory! WTF??

I know people who can play in a professional capacity for 4 hours or more, day in, day out, and not have a single piece of music anywhere near them, ever. Once the tunes are up there, for some, they stay.

Thou Swell was never a TV theme? Why does it sound so much like one from the 1950s or 60s?

Is there any show of the pipes?

    • @TheAmpico
      @TheAmpico ปีที่แล้ว

There isn't much to see in the auditorium. A few 16' pedal pipes can be seen, but without going into the chambers, that's about all that can be seen. This is at the fine arts auditorium for Warren Central High School here in Indianapolis, Indiana, not an original theater instalation, so no elaborate grillwork or display of pipes, but it sure does sound great in the auditorium.
