Mark Herman, I cant believe that there are young people left in this world that are prepared to entertain us with real music. You are great and you CAN play the Organ! (and you have a pleasant personality) Tunes like these will never be composed again. Thank you!

Psch, you don't know if they will or won't be. Also, current music IS real too, duh.
Anyway, yes, he did great! They should've clapped anyway, ha. I wish he had raised the mic volume, though.

Taking the concept of the man-cave to a hitherto unforeseen level! I’m guessing his wife took one look and said ‘You’re not having that thing in here!!” What an epic instrument and recording.

Man, whoever voiced this thing should get an award! You can literally hear every pipe and percussion piece and it blends so well.😁 I'm sure a lot of this has to do with mic placement for the recording sessions also, but overall this organ is a joy to listen to, and Mark has brought out the absolute best of it all. Well done by all... keep building on it!😉👍🎵🎶🎵

I am a huge Mark Herman fan! He masters those amazing consoles. I could watch and listen to him all evening. This was once again like his other concerts for us, simply amazing, beautiful and a marvelous talent who not only works the console and ranks, but also feels the music he is playing.

Mark plays the best version of "Anything Goes" that you'll ever hear. Thanks Mark. This is a wonderful concert. I loved everything you played. It's my opinion that your gift as a jazz pianist gives you a huge advantage on the W - the way you seem to instinctively know exactly how to use all the resources of the instrument as you play through each piece, weaving them into each rendition..

Without fail Mark has delivered another fabulous program of varied music choices. He never fails to impress with his artistry and choice of registrations and solo voices. I particularly loved his jazzy and jovial “Gypsy In My Soul” which is dedicated to master organ builder Terry Kleven. If you’d like to hear it immediately, it starts at 38:00.

Totally outstanding playing, what more could be said, Mark is an extraordinary talent, just brilliant, thank you again for bringing joy and delight to my heart this evening. As for the organ, it's absolutely as brilliant as Mark, one of the things i REALLY appreciate is the subtlety of the tremulants, never ruining the melodic line, and helping keep the ensembles together, also the wonderful job with the overall voicing, just stunning and so delish!! Great work by an obviously passionate team, stunning work all through. All this combined with Mark's total command of the instrument lends for an unforgettable musical experience!!! BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO to you all!! Adrian in Bermuda.......

Everything about your playing is simply awesome; your style, registrations, arrangements .... I could go on, I mean just exactly how big IS your repertoire! Beautiful! I recommended Carmex find their most skilled drone flying employee to fly around the pipe loft and organ console in sync with the music, filming. And then dub it back into a less distracted performance without it. The drones are super lightweight and small now so bumping into a pipe wouldn't cause damage.

Would like to communicate I worked on the Wurlitzer we had at the Hotel El Panama.
I was a broadcast engineer for forty years, prior to my being handicapped by having been blown up, hence becoming a above the knee bilateral amputee.
I also was involved with Mercedes-Benz. I became nicked as Dr Benz, re body restoring. Fits, organs as well hahahe, all big pieces of metal and wood. Oh well at my age I wish I could still play, voice and work a bit.
Hence would love to speak with you. CLIff

I’ve never seen anyone play from a spontaneous list of songs before. My mind is boggled. Where can I find more information about the provenance of this instrument and your background? I’ve just subscribed, and hope there will be much more to come.

Beautiful organ,...very inspiring to see the results of what must have been an incredibly exhaustive period of devotion, to building, restoring?, and assembling all the components of this beast. While the aesthetic of this music, that seems to hearken back to the 1930's and continuing to possibly the early 1960's, is definitely not my cup of tea,... it is great to know that there are people who still keep this legacy alive.

I was a music major at CSUN playing classical organ but I only enjoyed the theatre organ. My father had all of George Wrights albums and I built a Schober Theatre Organ from a kit with my Dad who loved the music and with my electronic skills became a computer specialist at JPL in Pasadena on Project Galileo. So studying music also helps with learning other skills. Beautiful musical instrument and great musician Mark Herman to play the mighty Wurlitzer theatre organ ! :)

You cant tell me this wouldn't have been all the rage in the 1600's or 1700' or 1800's. Cathedrals would have ALL had these if the technology was there !! Folks would have worshiped out of joy, not fear ! I'm sure the Popes, then and now would be a much cheerier lot! I'm ditching all my Burt's Bee's crap and grabbing some Carmex ASAP!!

This is AWESOME! As a theater organ enthusiast, the acoustics must be sweet in the warehouse. But it does beg the question... why. Why is this in a warehouse ? I'm guessing the owners just wanted to do it. Where I live in Massachusetts there is a similar situation - a company Sealed Air where the owners built a building just to house their organ (Shanklin Music Hall) - I believe that organ is from the Boston Metropolitan theater (The Wang Ctr). But I digress - - This organ at Carma Labs looks and sounds great. And kudos to Mark Herman for his talents playing that beautiful instrument !! I just wish I lived in Franklin, WI to hear it in person.

    • @TheBaritoneCrooner
      @TheBaritoneCrooner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

The eventual plan is to build a new warehouse to house all the inventory in this one and turn this warehouse into an event space. The organ is built into a corner of the room and I suspect once the room is clear, they will install a hard surface wall down the middle of the room to focus the instruments sound into a more confined space more like Shanklin Music Hall. At this point, it’s hard to truly capture the whole instrument on mics because of the warehouse shelving. The 32’ frequency’s can’t really be heard/appreciated unless you sit several aisles back within the warehouse putting at least 50-100 feet of space between your ears and the organ. Don’t get me wrong, it’s wonderful now but when the final plan is finished, it’ll be nothing short of spectacular!
