The plus version has 100x zoom and ceramic back only, there's no other difference. But it's almost 200$ expensive.

Love your works on detailing about smartphone camera dude, been playing with P40 Pro + in stores, the 10x zoom is unbeatable.
Reminds me of my 300mm telephoto lens for my mirrorless when I shoot the moon. If you don't know, that's around 11-12x zoom. Pretty close!

I have something funny to tell ya, back few years I was capturing the Moon with my poor Xperia Z2 just for fun and damn if it had at least 10x optical zooming those photos would be quite nice :P it does not soften the image so it stays sharp but it is pixelated AF cuzz it's only via digital zooming... 10x optical with a lil bit of post-processing would be enough to make awesome photos, too much post-processing makes things worse... in my opinion :-)
I would love to see how RAW from P40 PRO+ telephoto compares to JPEG. Usually you can get more detail out of RAW. :)

You should really consider using English UI since you do videos for international audience. It's clear what you;re using when you listen, but with just looking it's not always obvious.

Samsung's image processing was always like this, too much smoothing and loss on details, i ve seen it since S7 it's like that. For a company so large and wide selling this is just disappointing. That's why i never get Samsung phone. Good video man.. Huawei rocks
It's just the hardware that is not match with the software.. Just wait when AMD Exynos goes into S21 ^^ Samsung will kill Every phone on Earth.... The reason why Snapdragon is not match with Samsung flagships it can't pull the potential of the camera capability because there is no phone that can zoom in 100X but now with the AMD Exynos chipset it's a different story...
@@direwolf525 no its not at all, the processing algorithms have always been ultra agressive on samsung cameras regardless of the processing power, make excuses all you want, but my note 10+ produces some of the best shots on a Galaxy and has beaten the Ultra in many shots, but zoom in on any of the photos and you get the cartoon effect and then onto horrid smoothing and terrible aliasing, this has nothing to do with the phones processing at all, its all down to the camera software, you only have to install Gcam on to a Samsung phone and the images go WAY better

I don't know what you're doing on your Ultra but my S20 Ultra can easily take a detailed picture of the moon. The smudgy look only happens sometimes when you don't set the exposure right.
What's the best settings?
It got better with new firmware but still smudgy, would love to see your clean moon shot with the S20 Ultra. Maybe the new Note20 Ultra gets it right since here that nonsense space zoom is gone and the camera is back to more reasonable 50x.

Its unfortunate that while the recent Huaweis are packed with amazing cameras, they lack just way too many important apps and thus they should be skipped. These zoom features are quite gimmicky in my eyes. I hardly use them ever and if I needed focal length, I have a few telescopes sitting next to me as of right now. The low-light capabilities of p40 series is what Id love to have on my s20 ultra. I recently moved to north Finland and northern lights are common here. I believe with a p40 pro I could probably get good shots of them, but s20 ultra might not do as good of a job and Ill probably have to shop for a dslr camera because of that.
In my experience, Huawei is not good for shooting people, especially children. Skin tones are not accurate and they do not cope well with moving subjects compared to Pixels. But I find Huawei quite good for landscape photography.
@@iulian2548 Simple explanation: Pixel & Samsung using Dual Pixel (except S20 ultra), therefore the better fast moving image captured. All previous Huawei's only using PDAF.
Starting P40, Octa PDAF are implemented, which in theory will be way better than DPAF on the Pixel. Saw some samples with animal & kids using P40, seems like the hardware changes are working. About the color & skin tones, its tuned by Leica, u can see the similarities with other Leica cameras, such as Q series. I dont think its bad, but Canon & Fuji produce better. I have no problems with skin tones on my Mate 20, its almost accurate as the real scene.
Speak for yourself pal , everyone with the littlest knowledge about installing apps can run most needed apps . It takes more to have all google services but some people including me think it's a worth tradeoff .
@@kasadam85 I am aware that you can instal the google appstore if you decide to go that route. However, even if you manage to instal certain apps, some of them dont even work properly. And I heard with the new p40 pro+ they are making things even more difficult. One must really want that specific phone to be willing to do all that.
Im using Mate 30 and I know how to sideload GMS but I choose not to. GMS consumes a lot of RAM. Besides, all apps I needed on a smartphone are either can be found on the AppGallery or using Petal Search. And 100% working.
Actually my moon pic is better than a p40 pro +, im using p30 pro. Interesting how your P30 Pro doing worse than mine, maybe older Android makes differece 🤔
