Owned the P40 Pro Plus in black ceramic. Probably the best phone all in all. Build quality, finesse of finish material, and that revolutionary periscope zoom!
Yeah the only that comes close is the Porsche RS design Mate 40 Pro or Mate 40 Pro+
@@lltechview not even the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra came close. Huawei seem to have their way with finish materials that's for sure. Same thing can be said about periscope tech.

The P60 pro is slighty better,even P40 Pro + isn't bad at all.

Io ho venduto il Mate 40 Pro per riprendermi il P40 Pro Plus, e sicuramente lato fotocamere, principale e zoom..rimane ancora imbattibile..nessun telefono in modalità pro ha una scala ISO che arriva a oltre 409 mila.. Questo è merito del sensore con filtro colore RYYB al posto del RGB che montano tutti i principali competitor

Used P40 Pro for 2 years and now using P60 Pro. I miss that Cine Lens of P40 Pro very smooth, best aspect ratio and very detailed even in low light compete with other's company main lens. And I miss 3D face unlock in P60 Pro.

The P40 pro has fewer algorithms that make a photo an "oil painting", but its shutter speed is very upsetting. I was very amazed at the shutter speed of the magic 4 ultimate, how I switched to it from the p40 pro
p40pro: There is an option for moving objects that appears on the left lower corner of the screen. I have lot of videos samples on my channel if you want to see the video quality of the p40pro. Thank you very much for the video. I guess I will try to just replace the glass on my screen that I just recently broke. It was very hard to find a good screen protector for this model, but after almost 3 years, is not too bad. This video help me to decide not to invest in the p60 pro. After 2 generations waiting, the improvements doesn´t worth the 1k+ dollars... I will stick to my p40 pro. Try to repair the screen and wait.

Definitey the P50 Pro. The P40 Pro is too old. The P40 Pro+ would be considerable against the P50 Pro otherwise the P50 Pro beats the P40 Pro for sure and gets longer updates as well

Wonder why huawei gave up on the 10x periscope zoom?
Because sensor too tiny and larger sensor with pixel binning and computational photography offers better quality.
Also 10x is not so popular actually.

i think that the camera setup was better on 40 series... i rather prefer the two zoom telefoto's lens back on huawei phones... now we are getting crappy lens with great image processing and great CPU's... still dont get it why but its okay i guess...since they cut out huawei from google... they too cut out on the lens, UW/SELFIE/OPT.ZOOM reduce to 3,5x...etc
this 40 series if they receive any update on their camera setup maybe would even better than the flagships of huawei nowadays... i know the kirin wouldn't hold without burning up... but its a shame because they have great lens indeed.
P40 pro+ has zoom hybrid x20?
Yes, up to 30x in video. Periscope start at 10,6x and quality is very good until 17x hybrid. To me better than S21 ultra.
does the p40 pro app still update? because if not disappointing, since Huawei's current computational photography would go more than excellent with the IMX700
Yeah there are still updates coming. I hope EMUI 13 to come soon.

it's kinda baffling that the p60p doesn't come with a 1" sensor in europe, i mean the price is pretty up there and the chipset isn't the newest one either.
the xiaomi 13 pro is 150 less where i live, yet it features clearly better hardware.
Not sure if its clearly better hardware. Huawei is innovating in variable aperture and tele lense and can definitely keep up and hands down beat Xiaomi and co.

10x is not everything. Depends fully on your needs

I'm curious because the P40 Pro uses Harmony OS, while the Mate 40 Pro still uses EMUI, which makes me curious whether the OS affects the camera results

p40 pro cam looks better in some case. contrast is way better
I still use P40 Pro+, battery health is at 87%... I think P60 Pro's images are overall (a bit) better, but it's not enough for me to consider buying this phone. Thanks for this video, I was wondering what's the difference in image quality between the two! :)
Same, I've had my P40 Pro Plus since release date and use it as much as a camera as anything else. As far as I know there's still no other phone available with a 10x optical zoom which means the images are still croppable with no image loss, I've even got recognizable images of the ISS as it flew over my area😮 and the phone has 5G which I make use of if I travel about. It's such a well made beautiful phone that I have no need to change, any other flagship device from any brand available today will be a definite downgrade. I did hear the other day that Huawei have now developed their own 5G chipset and a P60 Pro Plus is coming out soon, hopefully getting a Europe release...fingers crossed it'll have the 10X zoom...or even higher😂

That's what I hate. How could I pay 1k+ dollars for a new phone to improve some stuff and to get worse something. That makes no sense. 2 years later and all that money, at least you should get same capabilities in some areas, but not less. I refuse to pay for that. And I love photos and Videos.

Cant get Huawei. Once they had two different zoom lenses, one of them x10 and they got rid of it ,why would you ??
Now they are using single periscope,but only x3,5 🤔
There is no logic in their camera evolution , no logic progress, just constant changes with every new phone .
With x10 camera we need much more space or we will lose a lot of quality at the shorter focal lenght. Also at night one bigger camera will give much better result.
@glutworkout9774 obviously yes, but i would rather have 2 tele lenses(like samsung s23u) with smaller sensors, than only x3,5 with bigger sensor.
Also my point is , there is no strategy with huawei adding their tele lenses, everything seems random. I bet they will ditch that x3,5 periscope in next series and will come with a new one.
No real improvement in years. A 12 mpx sensor from 2016 takes better pictures than any of today's flagships, including these Huawei phones. See Nexus phones from 2016, see first generation Google Pixel phones, see Samsung S8, S9, S10, S21 if you will... l and any other "just" 12 Mpx phones from almost a decade ago. Way better results. I'm not a hater, I actually own a Huawei P30... this is why I'm so disappointed by today's "standards"...
I disagree with you. Dynamic Range, Bokeh, Details got a lot more improved with todays sensors especially those which feature pixel binning

just as there was a setback with the p50pro sensor with the p40pro+, Huawei is definitely having a hard time being able to offer cutting-edge hardware
Sensor size is not all. The IMX888 is using Sony Exmor T Dual-layer Stacked Image Sensor technology which is the latest greatest technology and only Huawei and Sony are using this right now.

Understand that sensor size while extremely important is not the only place one can improve upon. Better glass , wider aperture and newer sensor technologies all push the p60 pro far beyond that of the p40+ than what the sensor size differences would have you believe
I had both and returned the P60 pro because the wide angle camera is a joke compared with the one from the P40 pro. The quality on the P40 pro is similar with the main one instead on the P60 pro the quality is very bad. I hope huawei puts a better wide angle camera on the P70 pro.
