it's just for vibration suppression.. they will last for years.. more than likely you'll have opened the unit up long before they start degrading to fix / replace other components... (ie play / cue buttons etc. I think they have a estimated rating of 10,000 pushes before needing replacement)... those foam pads should last longer than the lifespan of some of these components. just don't be spilling beverages etc. I'm sure their life's been dropped significantly if it comes in contact with something like acidic like coke or sprite... or paint thinners like Russian vodka.

ugh those thin foam strips don't instill much confidence and unless foam technology has totally changed, that foam will degrade into messy goo.
