Still lacking behind Denon… not featuring Tidal is a big let down… however, I do understand that companies behind the scenes are in bed together and when you look at pretty much any videos of DJs in clubs or at festivals they all seem to have CDJ3000s or Nexus 2s, so for Beatport to be the supplier of streaming music seems perfectly natural. It makes a demarcation between “Club standard” and everything else. I’d love to see Numark, Rane & Denon in club booths but the riders of many DJs stipulate Pioneer kit as that’s what ecosystem almost all club DJs know. Secondly, lack of offline locker support on the USB is going to make this unusable in so many smaller clubs that don't have the Internet access set up in the booth. Looks like I'll continue with using laptop in HID mode for foreseeable future for gigs
It's their business model sadly, but what I can't understand is why there is a pay wall for people who OWN CDJ3000s. Obviously they want to charge touring DJs through the nose for using their service live in clubs, but there should at the very least be a way to unlock this feature, with a licence key for owning your own CDJ3000s, which you authenticate with your USB/SD card. From my testing the analysis is identical to that found in the Rekordbox software. Delivering grids via Beatport/Beatsource would be amazing, but each platform handles them so differently, I don’t think it’s ever likely to happen. And I agree with other comments that RB analysis is generally far superior to Engine’s.
@@Mojaxx Cheers mate, thanks for the heads up. For better and for worse definitely something to consider as part of the whole package. Appreciate the reply.
Will this work when i use 2 cdj 3000 and a xdj xz in the middle as a „mixer“? I mean the xdj has 2 link ports and an „extension“ port so it should work?
I haven’t tried it but in theory, yes. Any devices which aren’t 3000s won’t be able to access streaming, but will still be part of the Pro DJ Link network.
I love the set. I have the same and I have not regretted the investment for a second. Four band mixing sold/spoiled me totally. Anyway... I was wondering, why the waveforms and tags from Beatbort are not stored. I had a RB pro subscription for quite a while, but I hated Dropbox so I ditched it. Beatport tracks load super fast. Having to sing in every time I turn on the players is annoying though (I have a strong PW I can't remember). The credentials could be stored on my SD card. Who shares their media anyway? Cheers. BTW: TP-Link has a pocket wifi client that works like a charm and costs like 20 bucks...
So if you have a CDJ3000 and hook it up to someone else’s setup, yours will also have access to beatport? What if you remove your player from their network and take it back home to yours? Beatport no longer available?
If you log in to one player, then your account is available on the other linked players. When you remove your drive and go home, nobody else can access the service as you’re then logged out.
Great video as usual! But I am sorry the Denon DJ SC6000 is still way ahead of this. No USB needed, Internal SSD, several caching options, faster analysis, integrated Wi-Fi!
I mean it's good in a way... but it feels overcomplicated, expensive and like a lot of small hacks strung together just because the players don't have wifi built in
After reading the Beatport streaming Terms and condition, it says "5. Prohibited Use of Beatport Streaming Content streamed with your Streaming subscription is intended for your personal use only. Use of Streaming for public performance purposes will require additional licensing, which is not included as part of your subscription." If I understood right, Beatport streaming is only for own personal use, not for Djing in public venues.
@@djstuc Not very wise to just ignore it, but probably most venues having a DJ would be licensed for public performance. Whether that license allows use of streamed music is another matter though.
The same conditions apply to all music, legally purchased or streamed. You aren’t buying the rights to perform it in public, each country has their own performing rights societies which venues must pay in order to allow those rights.
I totally get why people would want to pay a subscription and stream however I’m old Skool , I buy my tracks and play them to my audience, nothing stopping the guy next to liking a track in my set then quickly searching it and bang he’s got it too for next to nothing. If I’m the producer I’m making practically zero cash from that situation I could go on but you’ve heard it all a thousand times . As for the 3000’s I much preferred physical buttons than a touch screen , in an outside gig it’s no fun in the sun plus I’m using stems so much now the 3000 isn’t worth it’s huge price tag .
@@djstuc cutting my teeth on the wedding scene I totally see the appeal of the ‘ won’t get caught out’ for events and those dodgy requests but in reality how many do you actually get at a gig that that any pro wouldn’t already have ? 1-4 ? If that’s worth the subscription fee then yes but the way this is all being pushed it seems more for the bedroom dj who don’t want to spend on a record collection and just play what’s hot , my friend has tidal as well as a substantial collection of music from years of DJing but he’s also paying out for a Wi-Fi box ti take to gigs !!
money money money......how much is the cost of the beatport subscription montly or yearly? I wouldn't trust having to rely on an internet connection! if there were problems with the network what do you do, people don't dance?
Beatport streaming should be more for discovery than performance. Test out tracks to play before actually purchasing them. Even with all the advancements that Denon have made w' reguard to streaming, I still don't think that performance streaming is solid enough to be completely reliable. But, as a discovery tool, hell yeah, it's great! That said, these companies are definitely pushing the innovations forward, and I imagine one day it will day be identical w' mixing from vinyl or USBs.
They way this should have worked is that you could store your beatport offline locker on a Rekordbox USB and use built-in wifi on the player simply to authenticate your account. Anything less than that seems super clunky. I usually use CDJs in two scenarios. Both are horrible for this implementation. Scenario 1: I'm at a club and they are installed. The chance that whoever installed them has this set up correct is so low that I would just expect it not to work. Scenario 2: My friends and I set up CDJs for a one-off event in a location that will be a nightmare to run a hardwired internet connection to.
Im going to sound like a dinosaur here, but coming from over a decade of lugging around records, just using USB sticks is still an amazing miracle to me and has been since 2013. who is asking for streaming? Is this all just marketing push? how much more lazy can we get? streaming looks so clunky and risky if you play out live. As a 911 backup if you lost your stick, I could see this as a thing. but most clubs and festivals ( at least the ones I play and attend) do not have a network cable at the booth going right to a gigabit connection anyway.. It seems just like yesterday we were complaining about the slow RB export speed onto USB sticks...now people want to go back to cdj1000 load times!? Wasn't the selling point of the 3k based on its performance, load times, audio quality etc? Maybe i"m just old, but this all seems so unnecessary. Its also just another way for companies to increase monthly revenue via subs, while we own less and less. I will stick with my usb setup, actually curate playlists locally at home, and put the effort in that way.
Can't get over the fact that CDJ 3000's still can't play MP4 files..... Given the SC5000's can. Real hassle for DJ's who play video at some venues and then go to play on CDJ's as we can't use half our library.
Stupid money for old streaming technology. Bring back the days of streaming direct from Spotify playlists with the bpm, key and waveform ready to go! (That was in Djay Pro about 4 years ago!)
That's on you dude lol. There's already another stand alone for almost half the price that lets you stream tidal, SoundCloud, and beatport. Don't get upset at pioneer when they are acting like pioneer. I'm sure it'll eventually get that update though if we're being honest
It is to slow for digital crate digging and discovering new music; I still don’t see the advantages of streaming music like this, over traditional crate digging, buying and importing music into rekordbox
Raising the standard? With this complicated sequence of being able to stream??? 😂😂😂 DENON DJ ALL THE WAY…I want to battle and challenge any pioneer user on this forum to come and go against me back to back while you use your CDJs and I’ll even leave my SC6000s out of it, I’ll battle you with my mini prime go and smash you
Sorry, but there is actual competition to CDJs now, so obviously anytime either company brings out a feature it is going to get compared to the other. That's just how it's going to be going forward. I own both, so I can appreciate the healthy competition/discourse surrounding the subject. Perhps you should reframe your thinking. With competition, the consumer wins out in the end. The ONLY reason you are seeing CDJs support streaming is because Denon did it first. In fact, there are several features that Pioneer have been forced to adopt because Denon had done it first, and as a result, have stolen marketshare from Pioneer. This is a good thing.
Not triggered at all. I was just explaining why peeps comment the way they do. It's going to be like this going forward whether you like it or not. I am impartial. I own both..... i.ibb.co/QrPx8vz/Current-Setups.jpg
£36 for a Professional Rekordbox subscription $29.99 for a Professional Beatport subscription Pathetic. How are up and coming DJs (3-4 gigs a month) supposed to justify such an expense? Especially if you've already spunked £4.5k on a pair of 3000s, because you want to futureproof your craft and be on top of your game.

I play a wider variety of music than I ever have before, thanks to streaming! Because now I have access to EVERYTHING, and I take full advantage of that. For the two years I was doing my PROGREZZ show on twitch, I played entirely new music every single week - because I could. Lazy DJs gonna lazy, whatever tools you give them. @richardturpin3665 the same thing was said when labels started commercially selling records in volume at record shops. Then the same thing was said when CDs became a thing. Believe it or not, the EXACT same thing was said when iTunes, Beatport, Juno, etc brought music downloads to the mainstream. And now, of course it’s being said about streaming as well. Access to popular music is only 1 of the many pieces to the “individual original DJ” pie. There’s so, sooooo many additional ways to differentiate yourself and your music from the masses. Anyone that relies only/mostly on top 10 lists to be a “good DJ” is definitely in the lazy/underperforming DJ category.

Beatsource coming soon??
Which club has an internet router??
So if you have a CDJ3000 and hook it up to someone else’s setup, yours will also have access to beatport? What if you remove your player from their network and take it back home to yours? Beatport no longer available?
If you log in to one player, then your account is available on the other linked players. When you remove your drive and go home, nobody else can access the service as you’re then logged out.
that 8 seconds wait when u press myplaylist is cool kinda like a brigde or an epic EDM drop
so uhhh on-device analysis is a thing now on pioneer or what??
It’s been a thing on the 3000s for a while already now.
@@Mojaxx wow i didn't hear anyone talking about it :O
Great video as usual! But I am sorry the Denon DJ SC6000 is still way ahead of this. No USB needed, Internal SSD, several caching options, faster analysis, integrated Wi-Fi!
I mean it's good in a way... but it feels overcomplicated, expensive and like a lot of small hacks strung together just because the players don't have wifi built in
After reading the Beatport streaming Terms and condition, it says
"5. Prohibited Use of Beatport Streaming
Content streamed with your Streaming subscription is intended for your personal use only. Use of Streaming for public performance purposes will require additional licensing, which is not included as part of your subscription."
If I understood right, Beatport streaming is only for own personal use, not for Djing in public venues.
@@djstuc Not very wise to just ignore it, but probably most venues having a DJ would be licensed for public performance. Whether that license allows use of streamed music is another matter though.
@@djstuc ok, but it looks strange how it's promoted in this video talking about using it in public venues officially.
@@djstuc Just because you've never heard of it doesn't make it right to just ignore it
The same conditions apply to all music, legally purchased or streamed. You aren’t buying the rights to perform it in public, each country has their own performing rights societies which venues must pay in order to allow those rights.
@@Mojaxx Thanks for the explanation, so it's ok to use it in public as long as the local rules are respected.
beatsource for sure must be integrated!
Subscription subscription subscription sounds like a perpetual cash cow to me🤔
i do find it funny 3000 users need a subscription it's pretty gross
I keep getting "failed to connect to Beatport" .... so it begins lol
Can CDJ3000s' Pro DJ Link share DJM-A9's wifi network?
Heard your voice and thought I was going to hear a Did You Know the History of Parcnips lol
Wifi is the way too go. This has too many steps.
money money money......how much is the cost of the beatport subscription montly or yearly? I wouldn't trust having to rely on an internet connection! if there were problems with the network what do you do, people don't dance?
Beatport streaming should be more for discovery than performance. Test out tracks to play before actually purchasing them. Even with all the advancements that Denon have made w' reguard to streaming, I still don't think that performance streaming is solid enough to be completely reliable. But, as a discovery tool, hell yeah, it's great! That said, these companies are definitely pushing the innovations forward, and I imagine one day it will day be identical w' mixing from vinyl or USBs.
@10.12 omg it's not been analysed jesus christ
I guess if you can't beat them, then copy them....nice job Pioneer I can't wait to see who you copy next.
Ain't no way I am using beatport, this is the slowest website ever build
interesting, thanks for sharing
he is right, the website (ever since its redesign) is sluggish and buggy, many errors too when entering via google results (404 or 405)
They way this should have worked is that you could store your beatport offline locker on a Rekordbox USB and use built-in wifi on the player simply to authenticate your account. Anything less than that seems super clunky.
I usually use CDJs in two scenarios. Both are horrible for this implementation.
Scenario 1: I'm at a club and they are installed. The chance that whoever installed them has this set up correct is so low that I would just expect it not to work.
Scenario 2: My friends and I set up CDJs for a one-off event in a location that will be a nightmare to run a hardwired internet connection to.
bring it to the XDj's
So dope!!! 😮
lmao
Pioneer missed a beat with them not having WiFi built-in. I thought they did
FIRST COMMENT, WASSUP MOJAXX!
1st reply on 1st comment
Can't get over the fact that CDJ 3000's still can't play MP4 files..... Given the SC5000's can. Real hassle for DJ's who play video at some venues and then go to play on CDJ's as we can't use half our library.
Router wired is bad. These players should be properly equipped with Wifi.
Yeah this is a no go for me. Having digital copies on my SD Card does not fail.
So you need 2x plans as well as being connected to the WiFi, sounds like too much work and money for DJs that take requests.
joke! gotta do a trick! denon pole position
about time4 this happened but good luck to anybody tryna fight off the request brigade without the "i dont have it" excuse now.
Stupid money for old streaming technology. Bring back the days of streaming direct from Spotify playlists with the bpm, key and waveform ready to go! (That was in Djay Pro about 4 years ago!)
WTF no Opus Quad support ??? i buy this expensive piece of crap and now it doesn't get an beatport update despite integrated wifi?
I'm sure it's coming soon to the opus quad, there are other firmware updates the the OQ needs so its probably taking a bit longer
That's on you dude lol. There's already another stand alone for almost half the price that lets you stream tidal, SoundCloud, and beatport. Don't get upset at pioneer when they are acting like pioneer. I'm sure it'll eventually get that update though if we're being honest
Laughs in SC6000
Nice!!!
It is to slow for digital crate digging and discovering new music; I still don’t see the advantages of streaming music like this, over traditional crate digging, buying and importing music into rekordbox
Man … it’s just tooo complicated plus I use serato …also , it’s not very friendly to open format djs
Looks a bit like a crippled SC6000 ...
siiick!!
Have to rip 36 tunes a month to make up for the £36 subscription… 🙂
Too bad you can't get your hands on a cdj 3000 unless you already own one.
Pioneer keep raising the industry standard 🙌
they are still behind industry standard with their cdjs kek
@@RealSantahunter i presume he was joking! am i the only one that honestly thought that they already done this.. what the actual fuck haha
"iNdUsTrY sTaNdArD" 🤡🐑
Thankfully, I left this overpriced crap years ago.
Raising the standard? With this complicated sequence of being able to stream??? 😂😂😂 DENON DJ ALL THE WAY…I want to battle and challenge any pioneer user on this forum to come and go against me back to back while you use your CDJs and I’ll even leave my SC6000s out of it, I’ll battle you with my mini prime go and smash you
Great, so DJ's now need to carry a 4G router around with them to patch the CDJ into ethernet.
This comment field is just Denon stans bipping at each other 😅😅
Sorry, but there is actual competition to CDJs now, so obviously anytime either company brings out a feature it is going to get compared to the other.
@@risquedj exactly my point, instantly triggered 😅😅😅
@@NICKRICHTEA You're the only one here that seems triggered
@@jeremyvenegas3109 🥱🥱🥱
Not triggered at all. I was just explaining why peeps comment the way they do. It's going to be like this going forward whether you like it or not. I am impartial. I own both.....

£36 for a Professional Rekordbox subscription
$29.99 for a Professional Beatport subscription
Pathetic. How are up and coming DJs (3-4 gigs a month) supposed to justify such an expense?
Especially if you've already spunked £4.5k on a pair of 3000s, because you want to futureproof your craft and be on top of your game.
This means nothing to me!
After watching this man…thank the lord I went Denon Dj…pioneer now sucks…it’s true it sucks. Denon is the new standard. Every dog has its day and pioneer had a fantastic run but now Denon have smashed them. Yeah yeah pioneer are in the clubs industry standard rubbish. Pls don’t hit me with that nonsense. Any DJ that’s a real Dj can play on anything regardless of what’s ‘standard’
I wouldn't use this even if it was free, the fact pioneer wants me to pay ....🤣
just imagine if the majority use streaming everyone will be playing the same tunes our originality fades further with more convieniance.
But for those who love to dig, streaming is the dream.
@@Mojaxx true. but on the other hand you get dj's like that hannah who clearly just plays whatever is being served to her on the beatport dish. it's making it really easy for these pay to win types.
WTF is this?! What happened to the good and old plug-and-play?
Will it analyze and display the key in camelot notation?
Good for pioneer. I really want denon to make a dent and I want pioneer to also exceed. More options and competition is good for us consumers. Can’t wait for CDJ-4000 with wifi 🥲
