Funny thing I was literally going to throw money at Multiversus (the first time I would spend money on stupid skins in a f2p game because I wanted to keep it alive) but the game was fucking ass since day 1 and now I don't even know if I want to keep playing it. You only play for rewards because there's a CHANCE that MAYBE the game will stop being ass one day. But for now I would rather learn to play some discord fighter with no skill based matchmaking since Multiversus doesn't have that either (ranked doesn't count as skill based matchmaking, it's complete fucking RNG)
I got master 5 with Shaggy just for the rewards. PFG are actually retarded thinking releasing ranked THIS early AND with FOMO rewards UP TO MASTER was in any way a good idea. You can either climb by literally abusing exploits (like 99% of the players I have met) or you get carried by RNG giving you terrible players who can't even win with S tiers. I wouldn't even say I am a master level, maybe high diamond at best after playing mostly 1 character since early beta. I just got lucky a lot more times than I got unlucky. I have played CARD GAMES that were less luck depentent and climbing to max rank was infinitely more easier.
You make a lot of good points man, this isn't a bad video at all imo. That said, some complaints here i don't really understand, for example the game being visually bad... i think it looks great honestly. Especially the animations, they look amazing. Stripe is actually widely considered one of the worst characters, which i honestly agree with. Cooldowns aren't really a problem imo, rather they should just be handled a bit better. And lastly i disagree in general with there being "no love put into the game" the core combat is still fun to me despite its flaws, and the animators did their best with tye budget imo. What i think happened is most of the monetisation comes from higher ups with power. Either way i agree with most of the rest i'd say, the game is simply broken right now and they need to start putting work where it's necessary.
Other things to add to your video. - In Multi your only means of “defense” is dodging, but there is a catch. Your dodge meter can run out and the invincibility time for your character gets significantly decreased when it runs out. Meaning if you dodge too much you will have a better chance of getting hit or just straight up dying because of it. There are way too many times i can count where i died off the stage because my dodge meter was out and i just..could not dodge to save my life. Its awful. - The Blast Zone is WAY too small. 0 to death combos are rampant with characters like Superman and Finn. - Literally what is this roster supposed to be? From a game basically floating on hype with a catalogue of many great series they seem to pick very poor choices. Banana Guard? Black Adam? Hell i’ve seen leaks that Mr. Meeseeks is coming? Wheres all the characters people want? Where’s Mordecai? Where’s Uncle Grandpa? Half of this goddamn roster is Looney Tunes and DC characters. - Perks is a thing that should just be a casual setting. Having that in a ranked mode is not good, speaking of which all of them are basically useless besides a handful, leading to people just running the same perks every game. - This is something in the past. With Shaggy, if you were to have the Hangry Man perk you were able to charge your super sayian move within 3 SECONDS if you had a sandwhich on you. Did i mention Shaggy has a move where you automatically get a sandwich? And it doesn’t have a cooldown?
This is all valid. I honestly could have made this video way longer but it would have expanded forever. I can never stop finding things to complain about.
Even weaker characters like Shaggy or Garnet feel like they kill too early. And it wasn't a noticable issue in the beta. Sometimes you can have one good touch with Garnet and kill horizontally.
I like Rick's Upair. Because he is always underneath the opponent, he's literally showing the megaseed up his ass and I think that's funny. Shaggy is one of the best balanced characters in the game even if you think his reversal and projectiles are op. Both are super easy to dodge and are slow enough to react. Other than that I agree with you. The beta, of course besides horrible balancing had a lot of fun characters with Reindog being my favourite zoner in a fighting game in general (not anymore, he was more fun in the beta). People still playing the game believe PFG can fix it at least to a point of beta. The game right now is almost completely dogshit and people play mostly for FOMO rewards. Season 2 ranked was the worst ranked experience I have had but I hit master and I don't give a shit about my rank at all, I just wanted the rewards. You either get carried by OP characters or you get carried by RNG giving you dogshit players because if the game actually kept giving me "master" Aryas and Jokers, I would have to cheat myself to get that high.
