I'm so grateful for the time and effort you put into making these tutorials. I'm teaching myself pastel painting after many years of absence from art - in particular - realistic graphite face artwork. The information has been invaluable , how to set up, store paintings and other details as well as the painting itself . This is the only way I can partake in a lesson as I have a disabling chronic illness leaving me bedbound. Dusty messy pastels from bed ??! I was told it couldn't be done. But , with meticulous preparation , I'm finding it's not as impossible as I'd been led to believe. So, I look forward with enthusiasm to all of your posts as they teach me more than most TH-cam tutorials do, and the clarity and quality you present with is the best. Thanks again:)
This is exactly why I post these videos. I'm so glad they are helping you in your journey back into the world of art! When we want to do something we find a way within the limitations of our own life- congratulations on making it work from your bed. I would love to see some of your work as you progress. I'm not sure why that's happening but I'm trying to post regularly at 9am Mondays Australian time whatever that translates to in Florida time. So if you just check my channel each week around that time you shouldn't miss any.
Very beautiful plein air painting. One of the best in pastels I've seen so far. Wonder why you didn't bring down the top part of your easel to keep your painting from blowing away :-)
lol! There were a group of seniors like me who had rowed round in long boats to picnic and swim. She does look in trouble because of the fast video but she was having a wonderful time and I regretted not taking my swimsuit with me.
For me it's just one outing - the light changes so much that it would be a different painting the next day. Give it a try sometime Dave - without the camping equipment!
Hi Raphael, Yes there is a market for pastel paintings. There are some excellent artists who command high prices for their artworks .Although I'm not one of them I do sell my paintings locally to tourists and locals as well as on line. Happy painting and thanks for watching :)
thanks so much for responding to my question ,I always was curious about it..Love the way you do your tutorials not only are you an excellent artist but a super good teacher...
Any sanded paper will work. Kitty Wallis is a good paper and is available in US. Try checking out Jerrys Artarama or Dick Blicks online stores - they both stock sanded pastel papers and have good prices. Best of luck.

It's a favourite spot - I had a lovely morning.

Hi Pablo ...hope all is well with you :)
How did I miss this one? Do plein air painters ever go back the next day or is it one and done? If I tried this I would have to buy camping equipment!
For me it's just one outing - the light changes so much that it would be a different painting the next day. Give it a try sometime Dave - without the camping equipment!

I have found your videos very helpful. Thank you!
Thanks! I'm using sanded Mi Tientes TEX paper here.Happy painting :)
Alas, Mi Tientes TEX is not available in U.S. Can you suggest a good alternative?
