Unfortunately, I don’t think we ever see Spider-Man in live action on TV. Spider-Man has made over 1 billion twice in theatres. No way Marvel gives up that kind of revenue to make TV shows.
Sadly true. I think it’d be cool to do a show that bridges the gaps between a film series, like the new TMNT series does with mutant mayhem. Give a bit more time to the events that we do t get to see
I have an idea: What if Uncle Ben's killer just... dies? Not because of anything Peter did, like he's running from police and falls to his death from a fire escape before Peter even has the chance to suit up and go after him? That way his first night as Spider-Man isn't about revenge because he can't even get that. He's just left directionless and angry at no one in particular
i think all of super hero media or comic book media should always be tv show becasue they are similar to comics, everyweek a comic comes out just how every episdoe comes out. Movies should only be for special events like adapting a major storyline that has a finish and end. Like watchmen
This makes the most sense, honestly. You do day-to-day/week-to-week comics as a TV-show, then for stories like Spider-Verse, or for DC, Crisis On # Earths, you have a huge event and like a 3-hour movie.
this is actually how disney+ can evolve as well too. More reason imagine all marvel content being exclusive to “TV Format” which means all that content is behind Disney+. Also, movies could be be major events for characters or in general. This can solve superhero fatigue too
I agree with what you said about the mental situation of Peter. My favourite Spider-Man comics are always the ones with more emotion. I also like that they show him fail because it makes him more relatable
The issue is the only people with the money and leverage to make this happen are like 40, and have no clue what its like to be a kid, let alone a kid today, the people making our media are out of touch
@neilgodwin6531 yeah, we cant have it being too authentic to the teen experience lmao But nobody wants to see an out of touch rich dudes idea of a teen either Its a lose lose really
Absolutely. Took the words right out of my mouth. Spider-Man NEEDS to be a tv show. And not just an all-ages-friendly cartoon again (nothing against cartoons), but a mature, honest pretsige television series. I've been conceptualizing/writing my own Spider-Man series for a few years now and it's wildly different from your pitch, yet we still agree on the most fundamental aspects that a Spider-Man show would be required to have. Great video, man!
i feel like the MCU spiderman has gotten close to hitting those beats at times more than any other live-action spiderman. especially in homecoming. we actually got to see him be a high schooler and have those more day-to-day issues at times but as the trilogy went on they showed them less and less. i honestly think sony just doesn’t feel like those stories are important and would rather cut them so they can show other things
MCU Spiderman has gotten nothing close to how Spiderman is in the comics.MCU Spiderman is cringey, annoying and meh. He's also played by a mid and overrated actor.
Dam this kinda bummed me out cause something like this will probably never happen😭. Can you imagine a live action series about Spider-Man that starts with his origin, and throughout multiple seasons we follow him even after high school?. Man this would just be perfect
@mtshaygaming7940 live action is way more expensive, so corners are always cut, mediocre actors, repeat villains, shorter seasons, mediocre writers or writers that change every season
True, been thinking this for a while. A Spidey tv show would be really dope, but it'd also be really hard figuring out how to structure it all cuz there is a lot of material to go over. Dunno about the whole Gwen and Max Dillon thing tho. With Gwen and Harry first being introduced in college, maybe it'd make for a more respectful adaptation to keep them for later? But no one nowadays seems to be a fan of the Betty romance, and Gwen didn't get fleshed out enough, so I guess it makes sense wanting to introduce her earlier idk
Right now Sony and Amazon are making a Spider-Man Noir tv series with Nicholas Cage as the character but with a name change because... those weird little words on the contract issues (instead of Peter Parker, he's named Ben Reilly). The series will feature Sandman, Yuri Watanabe, Robbie Robertson, Silvermane and many more.
I agree spider-man is great for movies, but spectacular spider-man proves you can get better and deeper stories through shows. Spider-man has way too much history and great stories to tell without having to rush or skip them because of a run time. Cobra kai for example does amazing action, had great drama and builds up a story with out it having to feel rush where karate kid has to stick to a run time. Some superheroes deserves more time to be on TV like the flash where yes the show has its up and down but you fell in love with grants performance as barry allen and love the relationship he's built throughout the show and it didn't extremely rush villians some had good stories to tell. Where as the movie didn't give us time with that flash we only got a glimpse of his everyday life whereas the show Flash gave us what barry allen does on a daily basis
I always thought Spiderman would work really well as a tv show like Daredevil. I think they choose movies cause they wanna make a butt load of money cause he always makes bank at the theaters
I’ve thought this for quite a while now. It would be (no pun intended) so amazing to get a Spider-Man show that delve deeper into the character than two hour movies can. Not just like another show intended predominantly for kids, but something that takes the character seriously while adhering to who he is and being able to shift the tone into that darker area the comics so often do.
This video captures every issues I have with cringey Tom Holland's Spiderman.I have been longing for a more realistic Spiderman movie or show on the level of Batman media. Not this cringey and annoying version of Spiderman in the MCU.It's sad that we wouldn't get that.
A big problem is that no one cares anymore about the loser Peter Parker whose life is already so over-the-top so bad that it's already a cruel joke, and who still thinks like a 15-year-old despite being over 30. It is true that the character has flaws, but it is human to overcome those flaws and improve.
Only just noticed how small your channel is even though I've watched one of your other videos before. Your videos are really good for being a channel so small! Hope you end up growing, I see the potential for sure.
I think we can all agree that Spider-Man should be a TV show, but Sony is too greedy. Every time they make a Spider-Man project they’ll make it a movie so they can maximize profit
The problem I have with this argument that Spider-Man Does Not Need To Be For Everyone is that the whole character was made to be for everyone. He was made to be relatable to teens, he was looked up to by kids, and he was someone who adults would feel sympathy for. Spider-Man’s a superhero sure, but Peter Parker, Ben Reilly, Miles Morales, whatever’s secretly the wall crawler, is a regular guy… through & through.
A live action prestige format Spider-Man TV series that really dives deep into the character of Peter Parker could be absolutely amazing. Too bad the Spider-Man movies are just way too profitable for Sony, Marvel and Disney to allow that to happen. The same thing could easily be said for Batman. WB and Sony/Marvel won’t make a live action Batman or Spider-Man series because “casual audiences will be confused” because they’ll think the show and the movie are connected.
this is why we never gotten a proper batman show since adam west cause Hollywood thinks spider-man is more profitable on the big screen then on tv with cartoons being the exception
I will share your video when making this point I feel like it is becoming more common, the opinion of spiderman needing to be a show. It’d be awesome for suspense to build up on something personal for Peter. Then for him to be in suit for a three episode special carrying out some sort of plan.
i have a series on tiktok called "remaking the mcu" and in it i made spiderman a show because ive always thought the story of peter parker is so important and deserves to be fleshed out more then a trilogy
I've been saying Spider-Man is better as a series. Hell they could make a video game/ series hybrid. Release a 40-hour seasonal story arc. But i kinda want to see a more adult Peter Parker.
While I think it’s possible to make a great Spider-Man show (a show better than the films we’ve gotten even), I don’t think a TV format is inherently better for Spidey than a movie format. At the end of the day, all that matters is the quality of the writing & of the production value; show or film regardless. Ideally, I’d like to see a concrete Spider-Man trilogy of films that actually take their time in developing Peter, his friends, his personal & financial struggles, and the villains he faces; starts in high school, then college, and lastly his early adulthood, that’s what I’d want 🤷🏾♂️
I agree with your idea about a show but I would also like to see a full story focused on a middle aged Spider-Man. I've had enough of the whole Peter Pan forever young stuff. Let the man grow up already
Yo bro actors and actresses sometimes think staring on tv is like the end how many young but old actors go to tv and u never really see them in a movie after they star on tv but honestly good idea
I love this video man..... I love Spidey and it's amazing how much ur rough draft resonates with me I can only imagine how it would affect others...if executed properly. If only it was possible to make it a reality
You know how amazing it would be to see Peter having to deal with mature decisions. Like how the kids in Cobra kai were drinking when they weren't supposed to, but Peter chooses to drink one night and it backfires HEAVY! Spidey senses acting up, drunken web swinging, drunken fighting but he accidently punches a guy too hard. The FIELD DAY J. Jonah Jameson would HAVE on reporting a drunk smash-faced spider-man and how that'd taint his image in new York!!!!
2:04 - IMO it had too much room to breath, so much in fact that it did a lot of breathing and not a lot of everything else. It had some of the worst TV tropes that really bloated the show for no reason.
Unfortunately, I don’t think we ever see Spider-Man in live action on TV. Spider-Man has made over 1 billion twice in theatres. No way Marvel gives up that kind of revenue to make TV shows.
Nicolas Hammond & Japanese Spiderman were the only attempts.
Maybe they’ll change their minds after seeing how the Spider-Man noir show turns out
Sony is the kind of company which doesn't really care Abt anything but money (take venom as an example)

Thank you I finally feel heard hahahahah Spider-Man is at his best when he’s in a soap opera
same lmao. I always say shows are better because they have more time to develop stuff and flesh it out. Like Netflix DareDevil etc
His common stories should be in TV shows, and the big events should be movies.
