I'm currently building this same kit. And you've just helped identify potential problems. I had problems with the wings fitting together. But finally managed to get them together. Thanks for the heads up
I still have the AM B-25 kit I bought when it first came out. After watching your videos I may leave it there a while longer. I did try to build the AM McClaren kit and it was a complete disaster. - talk about bad engineering. I trashed it before insanity set in. At 80 I am still building although at a slower pace and sometimes in 1/32 scale. I gave all my 1/72 scale models to the service folks overseas as I can't work in that scale any longer. I am a big fan of "Building Models Again" and he has graciously answered all my messages. Keep up the good work and honest critique.
Another thing to consider is the medium involved. If your kit got pulled from the mold too soon, cooled improperly, or was stored carelessly in it's previous ownership all of those things would cause warping issues that on the surface wouldn't be visible until the time comes to mate the joints up. It appeared to me the joint between the wing pieces was far worse on one wing than it was on the other.
Working on the bomb rack, and with the intention on just helping, I discovered that it went easier if you attach both sides to the wing spars structure, then the extra tank gets into the bomb bay precisely and gets aligned correctly and also corrects the fit of the racks with the bottom of the fuselage, just a little filing needed. KUTGW.
Oh wow Will, apart of all the problems of storage that the kit might have been subjected too because of the previous ownership I must say that this company should be called Incompetent Miniatures, the way the kit is engineered, the errors in the fit and the flat out overlap of some of the parts lead me to think that no one from the company ever built a test copy of this kit. That screams lack of respect for the customer to my eyes, and I have quite a bit of a difficulty dealing with this type of thinking from a company. I commend you on the commitment and effort you are making to build this and I'm sure it'll look amazing in the end but I'm annoyed to see that you'll be taking much more time than otherwise needed for such a project, of course, on the other hand you'll get experience and learn a lot... Great job!
Carlos Mendes yeah, man. There are PLENTY of issues that have nothing to do with storage or mold processing. But it's all good. I went into this thing knowing that it might be an adventure so I'm okay. My expectations were low.
will pattison So much for being an "accurate minature",and these go for crazy prices on evilbay! And academy is set to reissue this kit at about $60-70 guesstimate. And was that diego garcia?????? Jman
I built the AM A-36. I had every single issue with fit and engineering that you did. The instrument panel and I fought for a week before it would go into place, then promptly fell out AFTER the fuselage had been closed up. Had an issue with the instrument panel decal, which fluttered away from the IP part and had to be bound and gagged to the IP with white glue. And so on. It's not you. It's the kit; and apparently AM's craptacular engineering.

James Duff there's definitely some truth in that. Process control is critical to dimensional stability in molding.

Will, as far as I'm aware the cockpit was dark or medium green.
usaaf interior green, dark dull green, bronze green, or black.
@@barpfoto Well, all I can remember there is no accurate reference out there but only pilots' memories.
...but I can be completely wrong
@@androot69 there are plenty of accurate refs. i've actually got some original interior parts.
@@barpfoto Shit I have to do more research before I start mine. Thanks and keep the hobby alive
Crikey....looks like the wee lass was putting a fight along the way!
Cracking work so far kid....
Onwards and upwards to the next episode....👍👌👏
This kit would make me start wanting to drink again I think lol
And I thought it was gonna be a straight run to the finish ! Its turning out to be one giant pain in the arse, but congrats for sticking with it mate.

annoying when a kit requires so much work, but I guess the end result will be that much sweeter for turning it around and making it shine. kutgw
Sweet shirt!
Silver spar?😳
