Keeping us healthy and germ-free, soap is one of the most important products we use in our daily lives. Super Power Soap is here to discuss 5 myths!
#1. Soaps Dry Out Your Skin. Actually, it is a person’s skin type and sensitivity that makes their skin feel dry. Natural soap contains glycerin that draws moisture to skin.
#2. Soap Bars Are Less Hygienic. Bar soap is hygienic and sustainable. Bars of soap are highly effective at cleansing skin. They typically use fewer harsh chemicals compared to other hygiene products. Soap bars include natural skin-loving natural oils like coconut oil or olive oil that are ideal for removing dirt from most skin types.
#3. Antibacterial Soaps Are Better Than Regular Soaps. A recent study found that there was no significant difference in levels of bacteria found on hands after washing with antibacterial or regular soap.
#4. Lye Found in Soap is Harsh. Lye is sodium hydroxide and is a key ingredient in soap making. Soap is made with lye but the finished bar of soap contains no lye at all. Natural soap made with lye can be a great option for people with sensitive skin.
#5. Natural Soap Does Not Lather That Well. Natural soaps are made from oils, fats, and saponified plant or animal products. This type of soap creates a good lather.
