My pleasure! Feel free to make suggestions on problems your facing. Helps me get inspired since it’s easy to take for granted what you know in the day to day workflows. Stay curious my friend!

I love the short video format!

Glad you found it useful! As you can tell I tend to prioritize start-to-finish workflows with timestamps included in the description but happy to keep making these bite-size vids as well! I'll make them as I uncover things I think would actually be useful rather than doing a 'library of features' walking through each button in the software. Stay curious!

My new extruded BREPs are not separate from the original BREP. Any suggestions on how to make them separate, like you show in the video?

Hi Noel, try tapping Alt while dragging on the gumball handle to switch between making a copy vs transforming the curve into a solid brep. Let me know if it works for you!

You don't need alt. Just start dragging and before you release the drag also press ctrl.

Cool! I'm trying to decide a value during Ctrl extrusion (such as in Alt copy) but seems impossible. Do you know any way how to do it? Thanks in advance!

To do a precise extrude it would be easier to use the Extrude Curve (ExtrudeCrv) or Extrude Surface (ExtrudeSrf) command then check the options in the command bar to see if you want to keep it as a solid, delete the original input, etc. Both allow you to type in a specific length before clicking a second time to confirm the extrusion. Offset Surface command also may be a good option depending on what you're trying to achieve!

Add custom aliases EC and ES for ExtrudeCrv and ExtrudeSrf - much quicker to type than the full command

Getting comfortable with shortcuts saves so much time for sure!

Great tip! Are you guys going to make some courses on Ladybug or other analysis plugins?

Hey Jopo thanks I'm glad you found this helpful! The answer is YES, however the current priority is to first complete the 'Core Practice' courses and follow up with more plugin-specific content later. For now I would recommend exploring the 'Climate Studio' plugin which is the next generation of DIVA for whole building analysis. For more localized studies (such as specific louver designs for example) then I would explore the Ladybug suite of tools. If you need training right away I know the authors of those tools have training out there already. Check out www.performance.network/
      Stay curious my friend!
