    Just a note, for x3d variant you really don't want more than 6400mhz ram speed because of it's architecture. in fact a 7000 mhz or 8000mhz may perform slower than the a 6000mhz or 6400mhz

    • @sc9433
      @sc9433 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He is GPU limited, it doesnt matter. Ram speed is irrelevant in a gpu limited scenario, not to mention X3d Cache makes Ram speed even less relevant.
      Tweaking ur ram speed and latency is to speed up CPU performance, but right now he is completely bottlenecked by his GPU.
      Having more CPU speed will not give you more fps in this case, because 9800x3d is just too overpowered for 7900xtx.

    Yesterday my local Microcenter (Boston) got a drop of like 75 of those 9800x3ds. Couldn't help myself - decided to brave the labyrinth of rush hour Cambridge MA back-streets and buy one in-store. Now just waiting for an AM5 board from amazon. Also, good call on the video card - nVidia Linux drivers are a total mess right now.

    • @BaronCAD
      @BaronCAD 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Good question, @@jvillaro. It was availability - I have a very specific set of constraints. 1) My case is mATX, and fits very nicely on my desk, with a really nice bottom-up fan setup that does a great job on the GPU (much like the build on this video, actually). 2) usb4 ports (I use an external usb4 gen4 nvme enclosure so I can share storage between my dekstop and my laptop). 3) Wired my house for 10gbit network, and make a lot of use of my NAS, so need at least 1 expansion slot for the pcie ethernet card. The only mATX board that meets all those needs is discontinued (rog crosshair gene). So my MacGyver approach is an x670 or x870 ITX board, and hacking in an extra pcie 4.0 x4 slot via m.2->oculink so I can pop in my 10gbit ethernet card. This works because the itx board has 2 m.2 slots, and I only need one for storage. Hoping the single case screw for the ethernet card is enough to securely hold both the network card in place, attached to the oculink host board.

    I have a 7800x3d and 7800xt which suits my needs for now. I like the fact this 9800x3d gives you better cpu performance yet uses less power; they put the V Cache on top rather than underneath the cpu chip die. So I think it is basically like a 7800x3d but with that Vcache on top rather than underneath. I just have a cheap ASUS B650 plus wifi motherboard and you just have to update the bios firmware to use this new cpu; but kind of scared to do it in case the power went out, lol. That is a nice looking motherboard, heard good things about ASRock but hard to find; the ASUS one I have works fine.

      Tbh it’s harder to corrupt the bios than people may think, I wouldn’t be afraid to update it if I were you. Have done it multiple times and have had it fail a few times but never have had it brick the motherboard

    • @cybernit3
      @cybernit3 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jaybee-f9x Ya, well if I get that new cpu, I will have to do it, just don't want to brick the motherboard. But if there was a power failure while you use the usb to firmware update it would brick it if in the middle; but the chances are slim. I would feel safer if I had a UPS but then they cost money too.

    Lol one of the bottom fans is mounted wrong. Facepalm.
    Also rx6800 drives 5120x1440 just fine at 250W, you don't need this card unless you want to have 240hz on the G9 57" because of dp 2.1, will never reach that in game though.

    To run at 1440p with the 7900XTX i believe the 7700 would active the same results, CPUs are way more powerful them current GPUs can handle

    Since Starfield was released, it still isn't well optimized. This game is just big disappointment and not only in story telling.
    PC looks great. I would build something like that if I would be interested in having some big tower like this on my table:)

    Computer designs are so fucking boring now. I'll take a beige box with some contours over the same all-black perfectly rectangular prisms over and over again.
