    I have subscribed to the channel and will watch, at the very least, the series on camping. What a great idea, a clothes peg, a windshield, an instant home for immediately accessible tickets and documents. So simple that I didn’t come up with it myself. No more frantically searching through pockets until my bike falls over!

    • @bikingtravels
      @bikingtravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome aboard and many thanks for subscribing and your comment. Sometimes, the low tech solutions are the best ones, its worked for me on many occasions and yes, that whole scrabbling for the right document you're sure was in a specific pocket only for it to flutter out of an unexpected pocket with that temptation to try and catch it before it falls to the floor... hopefully a thing of the past

      Good luck with the DAS and enjoy your trip when it arrives. I don't want to patronise but just a little advice, as a new rider, don't be tempted to keep up with your mates on the twisties in particular, it is soooo tempting, wait until you're more experienced and just enjoy the ride at the pace you're comfortable with. (Been there, done that and got the fractured wrist as a memento).

    Hi NIck,
    You really did go for it!
    Amazing!
    When was it exactly, and how much time delay we should roughly expect?
    Image and sound quality is perfect!
    I really enjoy your stile, I love to fact you talk much, and you show not only the road, but things happening to you (lovely campsite scheme and tunnel crossing). - guys using remote for Gopro fitted on handlebar, so they dont have to fiddle with the bloody thing on the helmet, just a quick check in the mirror if it is recording.
    Things like shopping, talking to people, border crossings, filling the bike, checking tire pressure, anything on top of riding really makes a video and apparently you are recording all, please keep this habit! ( at least this is what I see on popular channels)
    If you could report on price: camping, food and drink. You can report on quality of things, food or bear. You could actually show around the campsites a little, even the shower and stuff.
    You could introduce a paper map, where you could show where you at, and actually highlight the route you have done, this would be a great piece of memory too later.
    Is your bag safe from burning over the exhaust? - I will use a soft pannier and I'm thinking to fit a heat deflector.
    I have found screen extension taking a little bit off that turbulence over 50mph, I think you would appreciate it if you will really riding much over 60mph. Of course, you maybe taller or shorter than me, so for you it is not an issue.
    Anyways, great that you do this trip, I'm certainly with you on this rip!

    • @bikingtravels
      @bikingtravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lajos, journey is still underway and thanks very much again for the route you provided me with. Still figuring out what to include so thanks for the suggestions. Regarding the heat shield - with soft luggage it is an absolute MUST, wish I had fitted one, you'll see why soon!

      @@bikingtravels, making plans is my favorite thing, so it really was my pleasure!
      I'm glad if you do find it useful!
      If you still need a heat deflector I can look up a store for you, or get you one and fit it if you can manage to get here!
      Please do not hesitate to contact me for anything!
      I will actually make one heat deflector for myself out of a small stove shovel, to save a few quid!
      I do this as I noticed some even having problems even with hard panniers too.

      Hi Matthew,
      Hope you enjoy the CB500X when it arrives.
      I bought the following in the UK...
      BARKBUSTERS BHG-081 Handguard Kit from Chainspeed
      CB500X 2019-on Engine Guard-RRP 747 from Rally Raid
      The GPS is a Garmin Zumo XT and I mounted it with:
      Billet Multi-Mount for 12mm (1/2") Crossbar - RRP 643 also from Rally Raid

    Could I suggest that you rename this series of clips to show that it is a European tour. 'All about the journey' is not that descriptive and I've only just stumbled upon. I like what you do, just feel it could be easier to find.

    • @bikingtravels
      @bikingtravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great suggestion, I'm happy to learn and apply, but, I'm currently on a non-motorcycle trip with my wife with very intermittent connectivity so need to figure it out. Many thanks again!

    Can your speak any European languages? If not how do you plan to get on. How does the bike handle with all that kit? (I'm thinking of dumping my GS for a CB500X)

    • @bikingtravels
      @bikingtravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David, I speak a smattering of schoolboy French and Spanish, but as I'm travelling through 8 or 9 countries that speak another language I'm relying on gestures, facial expressions, catching somebody who speaks English and Google translate. So far, the people I've met have been really great and patient. Hoping this continues. Ref the handling, I'm really pleased with the way it goes round corners and hairpins, I've effectively got a passenger behind me (you'll see what I mean in a future episode). It will obviously feel sluggish in comparison to a GS, but overtaking has not yet been an issue. Many of the roads I'm travelling on are 90KPH (54MPH) limits which is easy to maintain.
      All the best with your decision, a personal choice at the end of the day, but I'm enjoying it.
      Nick

    • @nairamize4996
      @nairamize4996 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey David, most people on the European mainland should be able to speak at least basic English. Unless you talk exclusively to elderly people or go only rural places, you should not have much problems in terms of communication.
