    Finally a wonderfully clear, beautifully paced instruction video. Thank you so much Keith. So many tutorial videos on You Tube are spoken so quickly it's impossible to follow them in real time. But you have made this as smooth as silk! I easily repeated the steps as you went through them. I'll certainly be following you here! Well Done!

    My Rodecaster Pro should arrive next week. Hurray! I like that you remind folks that the music they play must be paid for, lots of vloggers and podcasters like to play fast and loose with that detail. If you're on a budget and can play music, or have some sort of music creation software, I recommend producing your own original music sound bite until you have the budget to step up.

    I am thinking about purchasing this device and all the reviews and tutorials look great. My only question is with the 2.0 firmware update. I am unclear whether there exists an option to mute the speaker outputs automatically when enabling one of the mic channels. Coming from traditional radio, this is a standard feature on broadcast mixers so as to prevent feedback. It is also great as an indicator that the microphones are muted and hosts can hear commercials or music without necessarily wearing headphones.

    • @keithalexander5935
      @keithalexander5935 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd have to check the manual but I am sure you can. I don't have the machine with me so I cannot check. The headphone output 01 gives you all the other feeds without your guests hearing.

    Why would the manufacturer release a product which had the noise gate filter iterate noise? At: 3:03.Why anyone use it? Thumbs up - good production quality.

    • @keithalexander5935
      @keithalexander5935 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry about the late reply. A noise gate cuts out the room and ambient noise on the mic when you are not talking if you are recording in a noisy situation. They can work really well if used properly

    My mixer is new and when we are recording the sound fades out or kinda like when you have noise cancellation on a phone. So when you talk its fine fine fine, you stop then start and its like the volume has been turned down then comes back up. I have not changed any settings, so I am confused.

    • @keithalexander5935
      @keithalexander5935 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sound like a 'noise gate' is kicking in. it opens when it hears a certain level from your mic and closes when you stop talking. Check your settings you have the gate coming in way too slowly and the release is way too much.

    I really love these videos and I’m really interested in stuff like this, I hope to get a road castor pro soon for Christmas. I’m blind and would like to know if Road could put a firmware update into the machine to have accessibility voiceover to make it talk. My iPhone and iPad Pro have accessibility in them,, when you tap the screen once it will tell you what is there but when you double tap it it will click on the item that you want. I’m hoping they put accessibility into it especially into the touch screen part, for example if you tap the screen once it might say something like this, noise gate button, double tap to select. Then when you double tap it it will click on noise gate and it will say either noise gate off or noise gate on, that’s a lot easier for me and I’m sure it’s a lot easier for blind people everywhere who use that stuff. If Apple can make their products talk, then why can’t everyone else do the same thing.

    • @keithalexander5935
      @keithalexander5935 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What a brilliant idea! Everyone should have an option to implement accessibility. This machine does not have any dedicated accessibility. I'll try to get in touch with them and pass on your thoughts. If I hear back, I'll touch base.

    Another expensive toy, as in south america we say "zapatero a sus zapatos", rode makes good mics not another devices... example, pro sound in pod cast do not need mic process because it does audio processor in transmiter or in streaming tool or PC ...a lot of tools here are not usefull for a pro broadcast, plus the configuration is a really mess...

      And that is why so many podcasts sound like crap. All you have to do is use just enough processing on this brilliant piece of gear to bring each person's vocals to life and thicken things up. A little vocal processing during "live record" is just what most podcasters need to give a nice, professional, polished sound w/out needing to do post-processing.
