Woohooo!! Thanks everyone! Our first video to hit 1000 views.. Not a huge accomplishment, we know, but it's a big boost for us!! 73, and hope to catch you all on the air!
Hey Jason! Worked ya once back in December. Katie definitely needs to get her ticket, the hobby NEEDS enthusiastic people like her & yourself. GREAT job! LOVE THE FUN!
@@airheadzradioadventures I’ll watch the spots page continuously to hunt ya (afternoons after work) and keep an eye out for me on weekends, we’ll trade P2P’s!
Katie, you are good at this. And so funny! Would make my day running into someone like you on the air. When you get your tech, hope to catch YOUR activation!
hey Jason and Katie. Just ran across your video. Nice work! Maybe we will cross pota paths one day in the field. Or even on 147.030 Liked and subbed. 73 de KO4KKX
@@airheadzradioadventures I have thought about going down the beach by the lighthouse. There’s a table there that is rarely in use. At the fort there is a bench that overlooks the river, that would make a great spot. Wakulla springs is also on the pota list. I planned to go there tomorrow, but it looks like we’re going to have rain for the next week. If you’ve not been to the springs, I recommend it if you visit this area again. Be sure to take the boat tour while you’re there. The scenery is incredible.
@@CharlesKZ4KV Been to the springs a bunch and made 1 or two videos there. When we shot the lighthouse video, we were off the left side of the road before you get to the end. Several tables and parking spots
@@airheadzradioadventures that’s a great spot just before sunset. I’ll check out the other videos for sure. I’ve only been licensed a few weeks, and I’m excited to get out to the parks. I wish I had discovered this hobby before leaving Maine. There are some amazing locations up there.
Oh My gosh Katie😂 you crack me up! I’m a new activator only 3 times and I get how you are feeling lol so fun to watch! Call signs are the worst 😂 KE8UTX hope to make a QSO soon!
Sandra, I get extra excited when I hear other ladies on the air! I can’t wait to be “official”!! What study material did you find the most helpful with getting your license?
Hey! So I used Gordon West Tech book. And HRE TECH app with the pencil in the picture lol I did the quizzes and tests til I got an 85 to 95% consecutively! Then you are ready! Wish you lived closer I am the Lead VE for our club! You could test here! 😍 I hope this helps! Looking forward to seeing y’all on the air! I will be looking! 😊
great job you guys.. I saw this video posted and I’m like, wait a minute, I didn’t get an alert on my ham alert!!. (cause I don’t want to miss any of your activations).. So I looked back and sure enough, it was there, I just missed the notification, dagum it.. Love Katie’s enthusiasm and energy on the radio.. Nice job solo work, your ready for that license.. Nice job you two. I just subscribed. Katie should have no trouble getting her license. My oldest son was 11 when he got his Technician and General. It just takes a little bit of time to prepare, but HamStudy is a great free reference. And there's plenty of books, videos and audiobooks to fit anyone's learning preferences.
It took me a while to warm up to it but once I tried it I was hooked! I wish you much success in convincing your yl to catch the fever! Hope to make contact with y’all this summer!! Happy Hamming! ~~😊Katie
I think I've learned more watching you two have fun(isn't that what it's sposta be about),than all of the stuffed shirts.Keep up with the posting you keep getting better an better
Wow. Really interesting to see how easy it works. But I guess it is not so easy in real like in this nice movie, right? Kind regards from the City of Havelberg, Germany. PS: From 2015 I was often in Florida. :) I like.
On my G90, I wanted to improve the audio due to what I call a poor performing internal speaker. I bought a "AYL" speaker off Amazon, no bigger than a tennis ball. What a performer. Made it much better
Robbie, I just signed up for Ham Radio Prep….I am “ever so slightly” competitive so I can’t wait to get my own call sign and get going! Definitely will keep everyone posted and we will be looking for you at our next activation!!! ~~😊Katie

I HATE non-standard phonetics, I love that she reads them back in standard form.
They have their uses, when standard isn't working in a tough QSO. As the norm, it usually just messes up the logging!
Sounds like y'all had a lot of great contacts with only 20 watts. Congratulations!
