going through some of your old Videos. Two years ago I got bit by a tick in that park and got rocky mountain spotted fever. We stay at that park twice a year. My kids are swimmers and the short and long course SES Championships are held in Huntsville. My son is a senior this year and is going to swim for Indian River next year. We will be there in February and cant wait to check out the GigaParts store.
Parks on the air (POTA). The best thing for ham radio right now. It's not digital modes (granted that can be used in a park) that will get younger people it's this. Keep promoting it.
Anyone remember when you would engineer then build your own field day antennas? And thru knowledge and exsperiance and a little math they worked really great!
Wow, what a crew! I subscribe to all their channels. This reminds me of a day in the 1980's hiking to the summit of Mt. Washington (6,288 ft) and being able to key up several 2 meter repeaters in New England with my Icom 02at (back then most repeaters had no Pl/CTCSS/DPL). Have a great time. I'm sure you will have more videos to share.
I would say later this evening after quite a bit of beer it will be... PUI. Pota-ing Under the Influence. :) Have fun guys and enjoy the weekend and the hamfest. I enjoy all your videos. 73.
I love at the base of Monte Sano, missed ya'll at campus 805. Tried to enter the park near 9 pm... decided to head home and try for radio contact instead.
Well I can't believe it I was camping also up on Monte Sano I was in site 75. I am subscribed to all of you guys channel. I should have walked around the park then I would have met you all. Jim KE5RHM
Glad that you all found the time . side note , you really need a tripod . When you get the camera there isn't 3 seconds in a row that the camera is still . just saying . Enjoy
If your hiking 2+ miles or plan on any good elevation gains don't go with the 891. Speaking from experience, not much fun to lug that much weight and the 705 isn't much lighter.
Great Video - totally awesome to see all you guys together joking around and laughing. I watch all you guys. I will be activating K-1248, K-2718, & K-2694 over the next 3 weeks. Keep up the good work - K0KWH
Imagine all the TH-cam ham radio royalty all in one spot and I didn’t check the spots today dang it! Make sure you guys stop by and see Mike and. John at the Hamcation booth. Have a great weekend
I know some countries have different rules, but in the US you aren't required to add callsign modifiers like that. Some people do when they want to attract more attention, but it's optional and pretty redundant with announcing "POTA".
So what about your transceivers? You can't compare stations by their transceivers, only by their antenna systems. Just make sure you don't consume any potent POTA-bles at such a setup. 73 VE7NDE
It is so great to see all of you guys together, having fun, and playing radio. Enjoy Huntsville.
I really appreciate your videos as a new Ham...learning all the time
Welcome to the POTA family.

Everyone close together and no masks? And no masks during your youtuber get together? Not very responsible according to k0lwc
