    Lately I’ve been exploring the expression of Love through the lens of “the body,” and this compilation wove into that just perfectly. Thank you so much for the beautiful gift. ❤️

      @@keithoyoung34 one enquiry would be to look in your direct experience to see if you can find a border between you, the knowing and the apparent world, the known.
      If we can't find that border, how can we say that knowing and known are two?
      So the conclusion must be that there is no difference between consciousness and content.

    The weakness of Rupert s analysis here is that he diverges from our “experience”- And our experience is always our only access to the “appearance” of the world, we have no access to the deeper reality other than through a faith in the “Enlightenment” breakthrough talked about in Buddhism and Advaita-Vedanta, yet the Direct Path eschews this “how to get enlightened” approach. So it seems the Direct Path is merely Ramana self investigation/self abidance ( go back via the route you arrived to this point of infinite consciousness s localisation into an Ego, reaching back to your true nature of infinite consciousness) , coupled with Advaita style philosophical discussion.
    Merely stating that the toothbrush does not exist is mere metaphysical speculation AND definitely not an investigation based on our experience.

    • @alanneachell9092
      @alanneachell9092  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If we are not experiencing the toothbrush, it isn't known for us in our direct experience.
      We can only speculate that it might be known by another mind but this speculation 'proves' itself in experience as respect, compassion and love for apparent others.
      Without the speculation there is a danger of falling into solipsism and narcissism.

      Well said Al. Thank you ❤️

    • @fizywig
      @fizywig 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alanneachell9092 That isn’t what Rupert said in the clip, he stated a metaphysical assertion that there is no object toothbrush with any substantive reality, and then goes on to say as a further metaphysical assertion that the only substantive reality is consciousness/ awareness.
      As philosophical clarification to the student these assertions are fine, but they are at most an indication of a resultant metaphysical insight at the end of a process of self investigation and contemplation, but merely hearing Rupert s assertion in a Satsang of the reality of these metaphysical statements is no indication that these assertions are a living reality for the student.
      So again we see embedded in the direct path smuggled in elements of the progressive, how to get enlightened path

      @@fizywig He spends much of his time directing people to their own experience of phenomena. If you listen to my compilation entitled 'exploration via the five senses' you will have a good example of that.
