- Decided to upload some tracks from the game that are not on the official OST.
This theme plays inside during the quest titled 'Forefather's Eve'.
This is not the official name of the track. If anyone has a request i'd be glad to help.

I really love the pagan atmosphere in this game.

Catholic Church mixed with Zoroastrianism, actually, hence all the 'Eternal Fire' nonesense.
The conscept of Atar (Holy Fire) was very important to the Persians at the time because it was said to be the element of Ahura Mazda (The Wise Lord) and kept his twin and nemesis, Angra Mainyu (Basically Satan dailed up to 11) away.
Runes are also named after pagan slavic deities - Veles, Chernobog, Perun, etc
Pagans get fucked in the end anyway.

Here in Russia and a lot of other European countries a lot of pagan traditions are still kept, even the Third Reich, although they persecuted pagans, a lot of pagan traditions and views were kept, because they are inherently good, unlike pagan faith.

First run, death march, i almost choked when Pellar drew a sword and lunged at the Eternal Fire guards, "barmy and goat plougher only, the pellar is not"

@@Temeria4ever actually, if Pellar had made that woodstick of willow, then he had some chances in fight with wraiths; for our ancestors legends (Slavic, of course) claims that willow is a sacred tree, blessed by Gods and is oftentimes mentioned when it comes to "old-fashioned" exorcisms. Willow in Slavic tales has the power to banish damned souls back to Nav (realm of the dead, Underworld).
those scream are both terrifying and beautiful...this theme just fit the scene, that spiritual and dark trance... I wish halloween was still that kind of event... a real eve of the deads... eh that would be metal!
This has nothing to do with halloween. Good thinking that this is a reference, but it is actually a reference to the 19th century play *Dziady* (spec. Part II) by the Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz (absolutely universally known popular culture, esp. the opening line- 'Ciemno wszędzie, głucho wszędzie. Co to będzie, co to będzie?') thats compulsory reading at schools in Poland

@@mareksicinski3726 Dziady (Forefather's Eve) is much much older than Mickiewicz poetry. Those rituals precedes christianity on slovak soil. In fact historians found that those were celebrated twice a year once in may and once between october and november. Halloween is just commercialised version of very old tradition.

This song was so freaking awesome... do wish that you could come back to complete Forefathers eve after dispensing with his father. It's also interesting that they created an entire badass song for one mission that lasts around 3-5 minutes max.

I am a year late but it wasn't just for one mission. If you kill the botchling in The Bloody Baron's quest you'd need the pellars help. The song features in it.
Jessie Jacox Yeah that makes it even better. It’s a track for forefather’s eve, and the pellar has to perform forefather’s eve if you bring him the botchling’s blood, hence why it play in that quest as well.
@@Temeria4ever It plays a third time, if you decide, after the massacre at the feast hall at Kaer Trolde, to go with Hjalmar. It happens when you reach a cave below a village of Beserkers.
It also plays when in skellige with hjaalmar and killing the berserkers known as the vildkaards

The most significant gift for those who didn't chose to turn the Botchling into a good spirit was to hear this mesmerizing song in-game for the first time while the Pellar spread misscarriage blood upon his face.
You can still hear this soundtrack whatever you do with the Botchling. You need to do the „Forefathers Eve” sidequest. I saw some comments saying it also appears during one or two other sidequests later in the game.
Best sidequest ever. So fucking intense!

A likely cause is the capabilities of the disc that comes with physical editions, most discs have a limited capacity so not all would be included on it

Can you find the theme that plays when Geralt is at the Inn at the Crossroads? Also plays briefly when you turn the game on and you see the WB symbol and a close up of his swords.
I guess that is the very initial fragment of "The Possession of Jarl Udalryk".

ngl..That quest was creepy. The atmosphere and the OST and narrating made it feel close to reality.
I both love and hate that making different choices in this game we get privy to information that never would be revealed otherwise making us guess (like 'Red Riding Hood' quest). I saved and killed botchling first and it cleared any doubt (if anyone had any left) how sincere he is about his family. But anyway, I heard this song first when Pellar made the blood ritual, it was mesmerizing and chilling there, fit story and atmosphere perfectly. I think in Forefather's Eve this song was a tad out of place and the whole quest was just a pale shadow, made for those who missed the original ritual.

Tomek Mańko I simply use Audacity to extract the song from my game client on the PC version.
Saechao Plus Interesting. I'm writing an extractor in my spare time and I noticed that the files are in WWise format - *.bnk files for soundbanks and *.wem files for audio itself. Some (incidentally the Priscilla song) have full mix versions, why other come in separate tracks game mixes dynamically based on the gameplay. Do you only look for the latter type (which you can make playable with ww2ogg I think), or do you have some trick to handle WWise dynamic audio? Any additional experience might be helpful.
Also, if you could please tell me which archive and under what filename should I be looking for this song?

Pizzifrizzo you don't really have to use Audacity, ww2ogg from here is quite enough to convert the files - www.hcs64.com/vgm_ripping.html.
But you first would have to extract them from the soundspc.cache files (not too hard to write a program to do this, there's also a QuickBMS script here - zenhax.com/viewtopic.php?t=940) and then the biggest hurdle is the fact that most of the files are in layers and mixed dynamically by the game using WWise *.bnk files, not dowmixed, so you can't easily listen to most of the music outside of the game and have to sift through the *.wem files to find listenable music (there's for example a downmix of the Priscilla's song).

1234helva I think it's the same with some part cut off (0:40 - 0:50), you also get it during the botchling quest if you decide to use its blood.
