Thanks for the help. My Kubota M4030 ended up being corrosion in the fuse box. I wasn't getting 12 volts to the white wire and this helped me track it down. Much thanks again!

Thanks for watching and commenting on the video. I have found that making a video for TH-cam is harder than it looks. The great TH-camrs make it look easy. I see so many things I could have done better while editing the video. Unfortunately, there is not enough time in my day to redo everything I don't like about a video. I hope you found the video informative and entertaining on some level. Good luck working out your troubles. Cheers

Thanks for the info Bota Bob, my husband is away and your video I am hoping helps me fix my issue on my Kubota riding mower, has been doing this same exact thing since spring, well I ordered the ignition now I’m going out to attempt to install it.. everyone say a prayer for me!!! Last week I replaced my A/C assembly hose on my 2011 Chevy Cruze, then ran a vacuum test and lastly filled the A/C so it’s nice and cold now.. I was pretty proud of myself then but this will save me from push mowing almost 2 acres!!!

You sound like you are well versed to get the mower working again. Also, check to be sure the PTO is not engaged while trying to start. Most equipment will not allow you to start while the mower is engaged. Good luck

Hi, just a suggestion....below the hood, remove the side panel assembly that surrounds the engine & then you have access to a whole load of "stuff". If nothing else, once that assembly is out of the way, you'll discover half your yard debris is covering the engine & time for a power wash. I'm currently dealing with a fuel issue & thought I had done it all...from draining tank (to visually check the fuel), replace faulty lift pump, test & replace faulty solenoid & strip down the fuel injection pump (Yes, the one assembly everyone will tell you needs to go to a specialist), buy new parts & rebuild the pump. Now I am no expert but there is one aspect I haven't touched before & thats the governor....which I think is my current problem...so I'm on a new voyage of discovery!
Back to solenoid. I have a BX2200D & I, too, have a multimeter which can tell me all sorts of information...but even though that's my "go to" tool quite often, my second "tool" is a bench power supply that can output any voltage I want from 0V to around 36VDC. If I suspect the shut off solenoid as being faulty, all I do is remove the cable to it, check for 12V then undo 2 bolts or nuts, remove it, connect it to bench power supply & test it & you can actually see if it's working properly. The whole operation from removal to reinstallation is only about 15 minutes. Even if I've needed a new solenoid or anything else that uses less than 36 volts...straight out of the box, it's connected to that power supply to test it works, before it's installed. On this point alone, anyone with a BX will learn pretty soon that some things have very restricted access & can be very time consuming. Advice to anyone....I have bought almost every spare part I have needed from eBay, sometimes for 1/4 of what Kubota dealers want to charge & they are all delivered to my door...when nearest store to me is 30 or 50 miles away. Lastly, regarding work shop manuals & parts manuals...many, if not all of what you might want, is available to download online...& I have owners manuals, workshop, parts..for tractor, mower deck, rotavator, Bush hog, loader, post hole borer & box blade.....& then I have done the same for my old lady... a New Holland TC48DA.
Apologies for the lengthy comment but let me end on proof how dumb we can all be at times...I have 2 tractors with lever operated throttle control & I've been using the Kubota for a month or more & never touched the New Holland...but then I needed the extra horse power &, when I started the Holland, it fired up & ran at full speed immediately & off & on, I spent, weeks trying to work out what was at fault, until I called in the cavalry, a couple of neighbours. In less than 10 minutes it was "fixed". I was that used to Kubota, that I used the Holland's throttle the same way...but they are opposite...one is shove lever up for slow & the other is full speed...I was dumb enough to be starting the Holland with throttle wide open. You live & learn...but if you can laugh along the way, it makes all the difference & if one part of this is of any use to anyone, I'll be happy.

I should have removed the lower bonnet, but I was in a hurry. So, I apologize for the bad video. I like your idea for a benchtop power supply. Keep in mind, I put this video up to help the ordinary guy troubleshoot this issue with what they have in the toolbox. I have a couple more videos about the fuel systems, but I need to edit the video down to 15 minutes. I don't have a verified account and therefore my videos can only be 15 minutes. I am very fortunate to have Messick's only 15 minutes from my house, but I will need to look at the ebay parts bin. Sounds like I could save a lot of money. Thanks for the very funny New Holland story. I have a similar issue with my Husky and Stihl chainsaws. To stop a Stihl the switch in move up to shut down, to stop the Husky the switch is pushed down until the saw stops running. Thank you for the long comment, I can always learn something new. Constructive information is the most valuable - have a great day - cheers

Out in the middle of nowhere I used to train people / educate them about compressors, hydraulics,, fittings, machine drawings, pump & tools...mechanical stuff..cutting & welding & everything in between. Then I shifted job & that took me into the unknown of computer boards..from -5V to plus 3,000V...Just like anyone else....I have all of the answers...but to only some of the questions. Something I learned a long time ago.
No need for apologies on your side. On mine, even though I may have something of use to others.....there is another aspect, part of my day & that is like an old wife's tale...which says that you're better keeping your mouth shut...& let everyone think you're a fool...than to open it & confirm the truth....& I was mindful of even writing a comment.
But, do you know what, out of almost nothing, I am just a guy in Florida...not on TH-cam or social media....but it's a bit like making friends with someone, where ever you are.
But don't you ever think of "strange" when you reply to every comment you receive?
This is how crazy or beautiful the world can be today....I posted on some tractor website (4 years ago) how to strip down the injection pump...with detailed photos ( no video).... & I am sitting in NW Florida & someone from Australia replied & asked questions. How mad is that?
Sharing & educating others was a daily routine for me....but the lessons had to be short & sweet....the quickest way we knew of to fix stuff.....no TH-cam videos & all day to explain. When I go to TH-cam, I want to watch someone who doesn't have a dog or child to show....don't need to know how to unbox something & introduce the whole family & play rock rock music....all I want is "this is the problem & this is how to fix it".
That's not a criticism because, away from TH-cam, I think I could talk with you for the next 50 years......Sadly, through TH-cam, that doesn't appear to be an option.
      Have a tractor free day...
      Mike

I know what you mean about TH-cam videos. I have actually shouted at the screen about someone who is not getting to the point. And then I have to take a step back and think about my videos. When the camera is on, my mind is often a blank and I find myself searching for words, or in the post edit I will think "I should have said it another way".
A lot of people are turning off the TV and going to TH-cam to get their entertainment. I am one of them. And the nice part about that is I can choose what I watch and provide feedback with a thumbs up. I rarely give a thumbs down because I have discovered how difficult it is to make good content. And I don't think my content is good, but it is good enough for me. And if it can help just one person around the world, then it was worth the effort.
It is crazy how the internet has shrunk the world. I try to create and post two videos per week. I try to post the mid week video on Wednesday morning, and the second video on Saturday or Sunday. I love to watch the deer and turkeys that come to visit here at my place and put them in the mid week video and are not usually numbered, while the second video is of me getting into trouble so to speak.
Thanks you so much for sharing your thoughts here. Please subscribe and see what I am up to and say hello.
      Cheers

@@botabob Hey Bob, none of us are perfect, certainly not me. That's just a simple fact of life. Back to video...I have edited thousands of hours of the stuff & it is slow, time-consuming like you wouldn't believe....that's where you have to cut to the chase, remove all the useless & present the facts. Yesterday, I watched another TH-cam about installing a water separator filter on a Kubota, which they should all have instead of useless in-line filters. The video was shot by someone, just like you, an amateur, but it was on point, every step of the way....no music, no BS, no advertising. Nothing was in the video that didn't need to be there....the guy just got on & explained what & why & his video showed everything in detail & it probably took him a month to achieve.
Sorry, but I come from a diving background where time was precious & once you hit the water, above you could be a vessel on hire for $500,000 per day & 200 men...& it's all waiting for you to do your job, as fast as humanly possible.
When I go to TH-cam...I don't want to see the family dog & the kids & wife...& listen to total crap for 30 minutes. What I am looking for is problem versus solution, in the quickest way possible & video that shows me every step I need to know.
That may all sound like a horrible criticism....but it isn't. I have no need or desire to pass judgement on TH-cam videos....all I attempting to say is something like...keep your videos simple & as short as possible....& I have no idea where you are...but across this internet thing...I'd actually like to talk with you & learn more. Is that possible? I just don't know how we could do it....if you are remotely interested.

@@botabob My mind goes blank by the hour....you are not alone. Turkey & deer....+ snakes, opossums, wild tortoise, raccoons, humming birds, turtles, wild flowers & tracks in the ground you try to identify on Google...sounds like you could live close to me.
There was a time when I used to video & edit a ton of stuff each day...not any more...& I can't imagine what time it takes you to put out a video twice a week...& get it the way you want.
I am a pre-computer person & saw the creation & development of it all & even laid some of those fibre optics that link the world today...& allow me to contact you... how mad is that?
But I read a thing last week...which stated the the closest route, between two people is a smile....how true is that simple thing?....when the news is all about people robbing & shooting each other & a bunch of politicians arguing every day about a blade of grass....& all I want to do is fix a tractor.
But, sticking with a smile, perhaps....I have 2 dogs....both are ladies & "fixed". One is a stray I acquired & the other is from a rescue home called Dolly...her name came with her....but she's 2+ years old now...& behaves as if she's a 6 month old puppy. Drags stuff out of the house, the kitchen & anywhere or anything she can get her teeth into. I could be in the kitchen, looking for a utensil, I know is "just there"....but it isn't...Dolly has dragged it into the yard somewhere & there were days when I needed to scour 2 acres, for 2 weeks, with a metal detector to find my kitchen tools. Two days ago....2 turkey breasts are defrosting.....& they just disappeared like the steaks one day....the electrical chargers & cables.....my socks & almost anything that fits into a dog's mouth....everything chewed to bits or in the yard somewhere.
I could beat her black & blue. (which I would never do)...but whenever I catch up with her...she could have several hours on me & I just laugh.....because it's all too late. Catch her as she does it....that's a different ball game but she always steals stuff when I am asleep....as if she knows a secret code....
All I will say is that even my dogs make me laugh each day... & that is priceless & where ever you are....find something today that makes you laugh, too.....& I haven't mentioned a Kubota once.

Hi Bob, It's easy to forget stuff when you get to my age....& 4 years ago I was stripping down & installing injection pump but, at that time, I already had the fuel shut-off solenoid removed. A few days ago, I felt I had to remove the pump again because engine was starting at full RPM. Removed pump, checked the slide wasn't stuck, I put it back & then I went to the governor & could see nothing broken, bent or out of shape. With everything back in place, the engine just fired up at full throttle.
At that point, I was wondering what it could be. I've already put the pump back (without the pipes to injectors) & cranked the engine & can see 3 jets of fuel from the pump to each cylinder....that's when I finally thought I'd remove the solenoid. Hmm...that's when I found that the shaft or pin on the solenoid was bent over at 45 degrees.
How or why that happened, I can only assume that, with the solenoid in place, I shouldn't have removed the pump & reinstalled it....I should have removed the solenoid first, then remove & reinstated the pump & then put the solenoid back. I say that because I can't see any other way the solenoid shaft could be bent this way. I must have put the pump back & somehow been misaligned or out of line with the solenoid.
So, all I will say to anyone with a BX2200D or similar...if you're going to remove your fuel injection pump...remove the fuel shut-off solenoid first & reinstall it last.
Lastly, having stripped down the whole fuel supply system & messed things up in the process...the original fault was the engine suddenly stopped & a day or two later my other tractor quit. What was the cause of it all? Water in the fuel....but when you start investigating & testing & checking, it's oh so easy to miss one step along the way
Anyway, I went off to eBay, ordered 2 solenoids & that raised another issue which, if you will email me, I will tell you what I found out.
    Kindest regards
