Thank you! I never would have found the connector for the wire to the mirror.

This has helped me so much with my mk1 MX5 electric mirrors. There’s not enough information out there so I appreciate this video x

Useful tip, if the connectors are so stuck together use a hairdrier to warm them up

The anti-seize is a good idea here - I need to do that. If you're a sucker for acquiring new tools, like me, those phillips #3 screws are actually JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screws. They're ever so slightly different from SAE phillips. #3 phillips will work but a JIS #3 phillips screwdriver will work better, especially if you're having a hard time removing the screws. Vessel brand JIS screwdrivers from amazon are a good option that's readily available in the US.

To Miata Man, can I replace the old and big classic looking steering wheel to my 2000 Miata. If yes, do I need a Hub for it?

I’m not totally sure. In theory, it should bolt up. The problem will be the horn and the loss of airbag.

My wife's 1888 Miata has been a fantastic little car. I bought it for her in 1999. Very little maintenance over the years. But she just now told me that neither of her electric mirrors are working. I've looked at several fuse box diagrams but none of them specify which fuse powers the mirrors, which obviously is the first thing I want to check. Since both mirrors are inop, it must be either a fuse or the switch on the dash. Help?

It's a pretty common failure for the mirror adjustment switch near the ignition to fail after it gets dirty inside. My previous '99 had the same problem. You can pop the switch out of the dash, clean it out and the mirrors may work again.

Would a code pop up if you disconnect the wiring? Looking to remove mirrors and go classic style

Good question. No codes will pop up.
The mirrors are not linked to the ECU. 👍

Would a non power mirror car have all wiring and connectors pre installed to convert it to a power mirror

No, for non-power the mirror is stand-alone with no wiring.

What is name of the paint, is this a Laser Blue Mica or Sapphire Blue Mica perhaps?

Sapphire blue mica. It’s a 10th anniversary special edition colour that was only available in 1999.
