Nice clear video but I would caution viewers about the following... At 1:19, after having just separated the screen from the phone, you can see the Apple logo appear on the screen showing that it had just been powered on. Then the bracket and cable retaining the phone are removed. This is not the best procedure. First of all, if the phone is accidentally powered on during the repair it should be shut off. Secondly, after separating the screen the first thing that should be done is to disconnect the battery. Then the cables retaining the screen can be safely removed. Removing or installing the screen with power applied can sometimes cause problems with the screen that can result in no video, vertical lines, screen flickering, etc. Don't skip this step as you can make a bad problem worse by being lazy. Good luck!
Can a iPhone 5 power 3 plug ribbon be reattached to a screen please, not the home button, the 3 ribbons under the metal plate to power the screen, my ribbon came apart during a melt down sadly. Thankyou in advance great video.
My button has lost it's clickiness slightly and feels quite mushy to push. The top of the home button is difficult to press, I have to push down just lower centre to get a click. Will this just be the home button that needs replacing ?
i got the 3 bottom screws mixed up. the 2 for the home button. and the one the goes into the grey plate on the back. i have 2 smalls screws and 1 longer one. idk where they go
Why do you have to take off the front part completely ? Cant we change the home button while the front still connected thru the 3 connector to the main body ?
I need to replace the plastic button because it got badly scratched (long story). I am confused...where does the actual flex cable for the home button actually connect to the main part of the phone. After you lift off the end of the cable it doesn't look as if though it connects to anything. How does the button send it's signal to the rest of the phone?
Hey I just changed home button and everything went well and all the wires etc connected but now the screen wont turn on but if I plug in theres a noise can you help.
my home button only works if i push on the upper side of the button .. can i fix it by my self ? i dont want to pay 29 euros for express replacement or wait 2-3 weeks more for and free replacement... i have the screw driver for the iphone ;)
I changed my flex cable, but my home button still won't work! I think the conductors are aligning with the pins, but I can't seem to get it to work anymore. Any ideas?
Will I lose touch ID??? I heard that changing the home button you will lose touch ID, but if I only replace the cable will Touch ID still work?!? I have an iphone 6 but Im sure its probably the same story here.
Thanks! Fixed my Home button for $2.95 with a new part from eBay and your video!
The gold circles you see are actually conductors. They send the signal to the phone telling it to respond to you pressing the home button.
