Polo has huge issues with their gearbox in malaysia. They changed the oil but now POLO is known for workshops favourite car because it keep breaking down!
haro wilson its not the polo it’s a VW thing their DSG gearboxes can be very unreliable in countries where the weather isn’t cold (like Europe for example)
I won’t a VW to anyone they look good on paper but in real world conditions they suck
I'll take the Honda's styling over the staid Polos. It's a cutie.I have no problem with CVT or hard plastics on the dash fascia (who cares). Jazz is immensely practical.Very easy decision.
Not very good for Australian weather though, the A/C is the worst I have ever experienced, seems to affect all all Honda models. Unless you like the heat, then its fine.
The rear passenger space in the polo is no joke. A torture device compared to the unbelievably vast and comfortable interior of the Jazz.
the dsg gearbox in the VW has a bad reputation and will be costly to repair/replace. I'd stick with the quality of the Japanese. team jazz

I have VW Polo and I have VW Golf Mk5 GTI they work perfect very very perfect.

VW make very nice cars, but if you are on a reasonable income they are generally expensive to repair, and require repair more regularly than the equivalent Japanese vehicle.
Such is the price of leading edge tech and badge snobbery.
@@jeeves6490 I've had a DSG gearbox they are great but you wouldn't want the cost of a repair😯 I now have a 2018 Jazz with CVT and top of the range EX-Navi, the Jazz has it for me all things considered.
@@kingisback1995 Audi in the pfp, of course a VW group fanboy. Mk6 Golf has a class action lawsuit over the failed DSG, a simple Google search will tell you that, anyway why do people enjoy defending VW even after they prove time and time again they've just love sucking your wallet dry. I can understand liking the car, but actually hold them accountable for dishing out unreliable crap. Sorry they aren't built like the old VW you claim to love.
@@kingisback1995 The maintenance for DSG is higher than the Jazz. DSG isn't bad just needs to be babied a bit more

The last update for the Honda MY20 is the best. It’s worthwhile to add on front parking sensors. Hard plastics just make the car last longer. I bought mine in mid 2020. I don’t mind the CVT.
I hope that guy never complains about headroom in a car.
The polo has DSG gearbox issues and very costly to repair and it also has a turbo which is another thing to worry about. If expensive oil is not used and changed frequently, the turbo can fail. You will always be driving with worry. Polo also takes premium fuel only so this is extra cost. Honda keeps it simple, sticking with proven technology. The polo does have a softer ride and better quality trim but Honda has better visibility, clever seating and overall more space. The plastic Honda dash can be covered with leatherette. I'm currently sourcing where i can get mine done from.
In the US you get the jazz with an updated 1.5 engine putting close to 130 bhp and with a manual tranny it’s a lot of fun too 👍

Actually, I'm really in love with my Volkswagen Passat Alltrack 2017, I dreamed of the Passat Variant ever since I was a child tho. But nowadays, Subaru, Honda and Peugeot took places in my fascination too. So I really like the Jazz more, I liked sitting in it so much and driving, it's safe like hell, so it's my decision to go with it soon maybe.
But I still respect Volkswagen. They are classic and legendary, they don't deserve to get hate.

If you want to keep the car longer than the warranty period, then you would want to go for the Honda. Having just sold my Golf, VWs have terrible problems - Read some owner reviews of Polos if you don't believe me
There is good and bad in all makes. My 2004 Golf was totaled yesterday by an idiot coming out of a side road. In the 11 years I had it, it was perfect. My wife loved it too and we are both very upset about losing it through somebody's stupidity.
Great review, However there was no comparison for the rear seat space.
Both cars are great, it doesn’t matter if one has more power or costs more, it matters if you have fun with your car.
Polo is my workshop favourite car. They go in so often!

Honda all day. Polo is rubbish these days, mid 90s was the last of the half decent German cars. All far to unreliable & high maintenance. Japanese all day.
Skoda Fabia is better than both the Jazz and Polo, more reliable too according to statistics which Ranked Skoda 1st. I would never get the jazz because it doesnt have adequate A/C for Australia, or Europe for that matter.
Super_Slav Fabia is just a Polo basically. ok but ANYONE got ANY idea about cars no comparison, Jazz way better reliability, build quality as well. Fact. VW which pretty owns all German cars is woeful. Toyota Honda Lexus best cars. oh I've worked 31 years and counting in a garage working on all types of cars. what I don't know isn't worth knowing.

Skoda ranks 1 in reliability honda is 16th, toyota is 8th, My friend works in the workshop for a large dealer network that sells most brands of cars and he rotates between shops, Skoda have had one of the least amounts of problems and are designed far more logically and are easier to work on, Mitsubishi and Toyotas are the worst according to him and something as simple as a fuel filter change can take hours of labour since some moron decided to put it inside the tank, for comparison it took me 2 minutes to replace my Skodas fuel filter. New Japanese cars are mostly made in Thailand thats why they aree garbage and have so many defects.
My family friend owns a Panel beating shop and constantly gets Factory defects from Japanese cars, Honda, Mazda and Subaru having the worst paint from the Japanese makes and have only 60 micrometers of paint, My Octavia has 160 micrometers, VW TSI engines are also vastly supperior in terms of power delivery compared to their JDM competitors due to their use of Direct Injection and turbocharging, peak torque at 1500-4000 rom 250nm out of a 1.4l cannot be matched by any Australian delivered JDM competitor, Also Hondas and Mazda have the worst A/C ever installed in any cars, not suitable for Australian conditions, at best on a 40 degree day gets to 36 in the car.
Elley1970 Elley no they don't own all German cars Mer VW Audi Porsche and BMW has the same company but each class of VW don't own they made the car for peoples but the other german cars of German are rich like Mercedes but you should test drive car instead buying it quick whit no test
I'm a subscriber and I would like to suggest a look at some of the Dual cab 4x4's getting around, there seems to be so many models.
Jazz is better but western never accept eatern as winner i.e Japan and China.

I'd get the Polo for its classic good looks. But might be difficult to maintain it so hv to be practical and go for the Jazz, done!

I love Volkswagen, and European cars r beautiful well built but bit more expensive to maintain, Japanese cars are economical to maintain the car but looks r boring, and not a well built like Volkswagen.
