When tumbling glass or any man-made material, you must let the gas out of the barrel every day. My guess is that it has a lot of air bubbles that have compressed air. I ran into the same problem tumbling glass

@@thatonepossum5766 yeah in America every year all the kids and preteens gather at usually new Jersey and play the national marble tournament, the state park standing stone in Tennessee has marble courts and everything so yes it is a very widely played sport, personally I’ve been to new Jersey to play a few times its really fun.
I remember when I used to have a rock tumbler as a kid and me and my mom and my brothers would go out and find rocks on hikes and make the rocks into these pretty stones. I still have some of them

Put them in once the water wa boiling and keep rolling the pan, and they'll fracture inside making them look like crystals. I bet there's a video on here somewhere. We used to put the old 78 records in the oven to make them soft, then make bowls and vases out of them too.
I felt the urgent need to know what a rock tumbler was. I used to do a paint marbling activity with my preschoolers. I do love sea glass so I think they turned out great.
My rocket factory had a rock tumbler with marbles to ball mill the salt peter, sulfur, and icing sugar individually and then together. I then used charcoal to make black powder. Those rockets flew so much better with the finely ground fuel. They were a hit around the neighbourhood.

When I used to tumble rocks, I would run the machine dry with finer and finer grits of dry substrate and would it would polish the surfaces to a mirror finish. If you've never tried a dry tumble, you still have much to learn.
I was expecting chipping or denting ... super cool that it was like "marbled sea glass" - love that - but a bummer that it messed up your tumbler. My son is a future Gemologist and loves your vids ;-)

I had a barrel explode once. I think the friction from grinding leads to heat, which leads to higher pressure until the seal fails.
