Playstation 2 was the best experience for me. Most athletic and fluid gameplay ever. In today's games, they focus too much on the peripheral stuff and the players run/play like robots.
This is interesting to me. I'm 53 now and was playing video football as a teen in 1983 with the Mattel Electronics Football II. At the time, that was considered state of the art - not only were the players just blips on a screen, but blips were just one color and didn't even resemble human beings. By the early 2010's, the quality of video football was so good you could watch the video game and virtually feel like you're watching an actual game on TV.
EA should honor John Madden by making their games good again by adding back the old super star game mode and full blown custom teams, players, and stadiums like how they used to be and get rid of micro transactions

05 is the last one that I bought until 17. Was very disappointed with 06 and the introduction of the QBs vision mechanic as I felt it just made it too gamey. And then I didnt see any realistic improvements aside from graphics after that. I got 17 for my son because he wanted a football game but I've only played a handful of games on it. It still doesnt hold a candle to 03 which is imo the best they made.
The games that made the biggest changes from the last update(not opinion) Madden '97 Madden 64 Madden 01 Madden 07 Madden 13 Madden 17 Those are the madden games that made the most difference from the previous madden. Most of the other ones were insignificant or were mostly just small tweaks(like Madden 25,15,16, etc.)
I think that Madden 93 was the pinnacle of the franchise just because it's a good game that has its own physics and doesn't rely on poor imitation of reality

Remember in Madden NFL 08 you could crate a player that was 99 overall. The good old days of Madden we’re the best. Now you have Madden 19, 20, 21. That have glitches that need to be patched. Plays that need to be nerfed. And player ratings that need to be lowered down cuz they are just toooo good.

Remember in Madden NFL 08 you could crate a player that was 99 overall. The good old days of Madden we’re the best. Now you have Madden 19, 20, 21. That have glitches that need to be patched. Plays that need to be nerfed. And player ratings that need to be lowered down cuz they are just toooo good.

It's crazy how you dont really notice the change until you look back a few years. I've played madden every single year since like 2002. And I'd bought a few here and there in between. I remember one of my school friends back in the day had the original madden on super nintendo.
