  • Training Miniature and toy australian shepherds should begin very early and go way beyond basics to keep them from getting bored. Little puppies must be trained using treats and postive reinforcement in order to build their confidence.

      @@dreamgaits Oh wow I'm jealous! So even among your toy Aussies you don't see that sort of drive too often?

    • @dreamgaits
      @dreamgaits  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They can have high drive but she got an extra dose.

    Wow! That's a lot of energy 🤯. I work on a farm, and am considering training one to eventually help herd pastured chickens.

      They would be perfect for the job. Mine live with chickens and ducks and are not predatory at all towards them but they have also been trained to leave them alone. They are easily trained and would love that job!

    I have a 10 month old toy Aussie and it seems like the toy breed has higher foreheads and the eyes are set farther apart. I mention that, because I took her to a veterinarian chiropractor who mentioned that she may have had hydrocephalus when she was very young from a possible injury, but I see those two traits as common in the toy Aussie breeds.

    One question why do you do the treats with this puppy bc you usually don't use treats on the other pups/dogs?

    • @dreamgaits
      @dreamgaits  ปีที่แล้ว

      Gotta use treats for tricks. This is a 12 week old puppy and not an adult dog. Great question.

      Chicken. Boneless skinless chicken thighs.
