Thinking they either end up in Vale(Ruby’s home, Ruby slippers…) or Vacuo. If they end up in Vale I expect some fast travel by getting Raven involved to Qrow or Tai if he left to find his daughters. If they get to Vacuo I expect either it’s already lost or the world came together rallying under Ruby’s message.
A point for the time dilation theory: Jaune was already old when he met Alyx and Lewis. But the story has been around long enough to be a childhood classic on Remnant. It seems the author has been forgotten. _Ozpin_ even refers to it as "an old fairy tale." All that together, I can't help but wonder not only at the possibility of time dilation, but how massive it might be.
It would be interesing change of pace if the new volume will be enterily focused in Nora, Emerald, Ren, Oscar and Winter and give them a new spotlight for character development. And since flows different in Ever After, it will be interesing seeing this event happening.
I could see a chapter or two doing that, but given the arguments surrounding team RWBY even being away from the main plot for this volume and previous complaints about their involvement in the story I feel like there'd be overwhelming criticism and negativity towards an entire volume that took the focus completely away from team RWBY. I agree it'd be interesting and personally I'd like to see it but I don't think the reception overall would be positive.
@@YouAllWrite I agree especially with what happened after volume 4 where everyone was mad about how bad it was due to the team being away from each other. I personally think that there should just be at least one chapter showing what happens in Vacuo because it would suck to not be able to visually see what happens and just have to rely on the characters dialogue or brief flashbacks for that information. What ever happens in Vacuo can’t be as grand and deserving of a whole volume like the clusterf**k that is the Ever After.
I would LOVE for this to be the case! I’ll admit when I heard we would just focus on team RWBY I got a little disappointed because until the 2 most recent episodes I haven’t really liked them, even now I only like Weiss, Ruby, and Jaune’s characters.
I’d like to see it, but I don’t think they’d do more than 1 episodes like that. Honestly they should make it supplementary material as a book or graphic novel or something.
Another great video! Whilst I still hope that we do explore Vacuo for a lot of reasons even though I fear the show will not do Vacuo justice based on the books due to runtime which has always been a major weakness of the show unfortunately. I don't think there's enough awareness of how short RWBY technically is in comparison to many other mainstream shows despite going for 10 years (e.g. a mainstream show going for same amount of time would probably have double or more the runtime in the same amount of years). Which is a topic I want to respond on specifically is how long RWBY is going to be, obviously there's no real known answer and most people go back to that clip from Monty on the Afterbuzz TV (timecode being 15:40, where he said 7-10. Which would match with the idea of rushing to the end with V10 which would be disappointing but what was also said in that interview included Monty saying how some small or big things can become bigger or smaller later on or they can make certain things happen quicker or longer. He also specifically mentioned how V1-V3 was supposed to be 2 volumes so his estimation might not be correct. And I believe Miles mentioned at some point that Atlas falling was supposed to be V3 (I've not been able to find citation for that but I remember it) but if that's true that's insane ambition on their respective drive to go through the overall story. However there is also a lesser known interview 'RTX London 2017 RWBY Roundtable with Lindsay, Barbara, Gray, and Kerry' where Kerry was asked how long RWBY was going to go for (timecode: 22:14) and he answered '10-12' and that they're not at the halfway point yet. Specifically the interview took place the day of or day after V5 Chapter 1 'Welcome to Haven' premiered which was 14th October 2017. So naturally if V5 is not quite half way, that should probably make V6 the halfway point in which that should be 12 volumes. However, both Kerry and Monty in both interviews mentioned how often things can change and how much they can bite off from their roadmap within a single year and such. So I'm definitely willing to believe the 10-12 but I'm really hoping it's 12 (or even more - though I would prefer an even number so if not 12 then 14 which could work symbolically as the 4 seasons but you can technically do that with 12 because of the idea that 3 volumes is 1 season of RWBY). I'm hopeful they won't be super speeding to the end but recent RT scandals and everything else does give me a lot of concerns for what that's going to look like and RWBY's future but my wishful thinking bet is on 12 volumes.
I honestly hope *that we don't have a major timeskip *that we see Vacuo in the finale, even if it's the after credits scene *the cat and Neo getting ended in the finale *Ruby won't lose her memories from the Ascension-thing *the series is properly finished. If they end it with v10 then it not only needs to be like 20 episodes, the runtime needs to be way longer *we don't get a Neo/Cinder/Mercury redemption arcs
It seems Neo is being set up to die either this volume or next volume, and Mercury has never shown any desire to leave the villains, so I don’t think he and Neo will get redemption arcs. Cinder’s definitely too far gone to get a redemption and will probably be killed off as well.
The Cat's a different story because he may have a more prominent role in the future. Ruby however Ascending into Reaper and then steam rolling Neo would be cathartic. I don't know much about this show myself but I've seen a few battles and Ruby always seems to struggle against the opposition. The dark version of Ruby would probably stalk the rest of Salem's group and as you say "End Them" one by one, shocking even Cinder.
Another thing to keep in mind. Time obviously flows much faster here if Jaune was able to meet Alyx, a character from a fairytale mind you. At least a 100 years must have have passed outside to get to the time when RWBY arrived, just from when Alyx arrived. And Jaune’s spent 30 years in the everafter at the most, so I’m just saying.
What info do we have on the summer maiden? Bc as far as I remember, she’s MIA so if the sword is going to be out, they’ll have to find her and anyway, why would they even release the relic from its vault unless they planned on using it against Salem? And isn’t there this whole thing (or is it a theory?) that in order to use it you have to give something up which is why there was a theory that this was why there was this whole emphasis on Jaune having a ton of aura with specs to his past? (More specifically, the whole thing with his ancestors being warriors and Tyrian’s interest in him)
the problem with the ten year time skip in remanent is that, salem wouldn't let thinsg lie for roughly more than 1 or 2 years. she's been making moves, big moves, so yeah she would probably keep things going

@13:22 yeah there was a crwby video after the paper pleasers episode where i thought, oh instead of him staying behind or jsut probably gonna die, he goes back and there is a time skip. I think they said something along the lines that implied it was at most 20-30 years for Jaune in the ever after.

I've been kind of wondering about the same thing ever since the book started coming out. Not only that, but the original 10 seasons of RVB, follow a somewhat similar structure. You had five volumes of a lot more comedic stuff going on, and there's definitely a transition once you get to 6 7 8 just like with RWBY. It's been a while since I've seen the show, but I specifically remember V9 being in a simulation similar to the Ever After in RWBY V9. Provided they adapt the novels, and do a few more animated spin offs for stories that we never got, if it's a long one, and if it's a few years from now 10 could be the end.

Yeah if it ends with Volume 10 then yeah probably not going to Vacuo or at least staying there a volume I could see a scenario that the final battle is in Vacuo but who knows
I can totally see Team RWBY and Jaune arriving at Beacon, getting saved by the Beacon Staff, Ruby and Yang have a big emotional reunion of Tai, and Glynda gives them a airship, only for them to crash in Vacuo and have to make their way to Shade Academy, and most of the side characters are dead, Marrow is the only surviving Ace-Op, Robin and the Happy Huntresses are dead, team SSNN is just Sun and Neptune, Velvet is the Summer Maiden and Oscar is the new 'Headmaster/Leader' of Shade because Theodore died and he's a few weeks away from completely merging with Ozpin.
I think the idea that they will show up in vale makes the most sense, with the relic of choice being linked to beacon academy. It would also be a nice echo of season 8, when team RWBY called for help but nobody came - and in season 10 Salem is about to take the relic from Vacuo but Everyone comes to help (also, all 4 relics would be at the same place)
Once they leave the EverAfter one place I think where they'll end up arriving in is Patch, the island where Ruby and Yang's hometown is. Possibly in front of Summer's gravestone and they'll have walk to the house where Tai, Zwei, and maybe Raven will be there to greet them. As for how much time will have passed I'd say around a few weeks/months to a year at most

We still have 2 related questions regarding the Ever After: 1. How did Alix and Lois fell into Ever After in the first place? 2. Where would team RWBY pop back out in Remnant when they leave Ever After? Considering that the tree is obviously inspired from the Norse mythology of Yggdrasil, it is likely that the tree is the bridge that links all the vault pocket dimensions. Ambrosious probably knows this when Ruby asked him to create a bridge that links through the place "like the pocket dimensions". Alix and Lois probably fell through the vaults into Ever After before Oz sealed them. The way time flow is out of whack in Ever After makes this possible. My theory for a while now, is that team RWBY will exit Ever After through the vault of Vacuo. Perhaps Oz's magic only seals it from the Remnant side, but the door can be opened from inside the pocket dimension side without the Summer maiden's power. Or Oscar realised that they fell into Ever After, and knows that the way to save them is to enter Ever After through the vault in Vacuo, and got the Summer maiden to open it from outside. It would make sense for team RWBY to exit into Vacuo to progress the story, rather than appear at some random place far away, and then having to waste time journeying to Vacuo. We already got that journey seasons going to Mistral, and I don't think fans want another one like that. If all the above is true, and the cat tuned into the crown somehow when it enters Remnant, then it would make for an interesting start for season 10, with Salem and team RWBY and friends possessing 2 relics each prior to the confrontation.
I always thought that in order for this season to not be considered filler with only character development, they were going to have to gain something from the ever after that would give them an advantage over Salem especially since she now has two relics.
Osben said he hid Beacon’s relic in a real hard place to find. I’m beginning to see that the cat is the relic, just in a different shape for this place. Since we’ve seen that the cat can change shape at will. I think that’s why Osben didn’t seem too worried about Salem getting Beacon’s relic. Just a thought. I do like the idea that time travels at a different pace here. Ten years might be pushing it though.

I'm fine not going to Vacuo, but I think I would be disappointed if the show ended next volume. I feel like the show needs a little room to breath after this before jumping to the end. 2 volumes would probably do the trick. You could use next volume to start taking care of loose ends and then just go all out in the final volume. They could also do another volume where the episode time is split. Part of the time we are with JRWBY wherever they wind up, part of the time we are in vacuo with the others. That would be another way to accelerate getting the last relics on the field. You spend next volume getting the last relics out (maybe capturing the crown instead if it stays inside Neo). Now both sides have 2 and you spend the last volume in all out war.
I feel like the writers clearly screwed up in writing Salem's plan. In general, having the villains plan be the very quest itself just leads to "futile writing" because of course the villain needs to be thwarted at 99% completion. We, as the audience, want to see everything so of course Salem needs to get to all vaults and get all relics or it'd just be lacking. There's no way anyone wants to see team RWBY go to another vault, fail to protect it, then, for whatever reason, take out the relic anyways. Two more times before heading to Salem's castle. This whole volume has been about Ruby dialing so I doubt they'll let her fail some more That sorta thing only works in video games but bit really in an actual narrative meant to be taken seriously
Not necessarily... Lord of the Rings plays with that very idea "Stop the Dark Lord from reclaiming his power." And they succeed. Sauron never gets the Ring. Of course it is likely that Salem gets everything. As for a video game narrative... yeah, that's RWBY's narrative. It is structured like a classic PS1 JRPG. It's kind of why I love it, really. Disk 1 was Beacon/Vale. Disk 2 was Mistral (and sectioned off parts of Menagerie, Patch, and Atlas), Disk 3 is Atlas/Ever After, Disk 4 will be Vacuo/Return to Beacon/End Game.
See i seem to remember that one of the writers i think it was Kerry said they wanted over 100 people for volume 10 so i think that says we are heading towards endgame. And regardless of if we get to see Vacuo or not (I hope we do if only for a short time) then i want the first person they meet to have no idea who they are and to treat them like they have gone mad until they get back to whatever leadership they have and there we see much older versions of people we know like Winter, Ren and Nora and i want that person they first meet to be revealed to be Ren and Nora's kid.
I’d like to think the real problem will be WHERE they return to rather than when. I think that they’ll return to remnant at beacon and will have to fight the Grimm dragon as they exit the beacon vault! And they will need to get to Vaccuo!
Idk if anyone had ever mentioned this but after the whole twist with the fox and the hound, I had always assumed there was going to be this whole twist where the Grimm atop beacon was going to be summer. Edit: I mean to say that aside from Salem, this fight would be the last confrontation so I doubt team rwby would appear at beacon first, deal w everything there then move in to vacuo. If anything, it’d be the other way around or like you all write said, the vacuo arc will be skipped and continue on with the beacon arc

the best and most ideal state of Vacuo would be that they are more united then ever. Fighting for hope, and Salems forces as a rebel army with the Faunas of Blakes Family and Atlas survivors. all thanks to Rubys message just to further nail in the word that what she did was NOT IN VAIN! but the writers live unhappy storylines so thats just wishful thinking.
Qrow and Robyn are with what remains of the Ace Ops. They were last seen above Atlas as it was falling after the closing of the portals. So Raven won't be able to port them to Vacuo that way.

This argument makes no sense. Of course the gods made ever after and the cat - the gods made everything. The gods also made the relics. So saying the gods made the cat doesn't rule out it also being a relic. They made all of those things and they could be the same thing. Saying the god made the cat therefore it couldn't be a relic, when even Jinn says the god made her too is illogical.
Tbh, if other media like Futurama or even some animes are that long I do not mind if RWBY finishes with 3 more volumes if they expand the length. Or if they decide to shorten it like you are putting forth, it would be nice if they werent rushed with the episode length. Which is why I am okay with them ending with 12 volumes or 13. If Rwby is meant to be a anime like media, then I have no problem with that. After all how old is One Piece, Dragonball, or even Bleach or Naruto?
Honestly I think skipping Vacuo is probably for the best because really what would Vacuo offer? Do we really need to see the same sequence of: go to the academy, meet the headmaster, meet the maiden, Cinder shows up, kill the headmaster, kill the maiden, powers go to a pre-established character. Do we need to see that for a fourth time? No we really don't, its getting boring. Volume 9 is as good as it is because it is such a big departure from that formula. Not to mention, that narratively, having a sequence repeat 3 times is more satisfying than 4, hence why we call it The Rule of 3's.
Pretty sure the end of the show will have Ozma move on with his mission completed and Oscar will be able to live the rest of his life freely as an individual.

To be fair I can see them skipping it because they kind of wrote themselves in a corner. Salem still has her big monster army. Desert Kingdom is the weakest of the bunch. Oh and as an added bonus the second to last episode had the paper star people revealed to have their entire city obliterated was a good thing as the new or next iteration came by and cleaned everything up. So I get the feeling they will hand the last relic over to Salem in hopes that the gods fix everything or the world gets blown up, but the next iteration of it will be better than the previous world. Just like how the weak paper people needed constant protection the new version of them do not need constant protection.
As much as I'd hate it for them to skip over Vacuo, I would understand why they would do it with everything that's gone on behind the scenes with CRWBY and RT as a whole. Maybe we could skip to the final arc of the show in Beacon/Vale and maybe one day we could get a OVA/spin-off of what happened in Vacuo. Like worst case scenario we got 2 books of Vacuo, but it would awesome too see Team SSSN/CFVY/Beacon Brigade.
What if Jaune is that King that was mentioned in the past? He goes back, but not to the same time as team RWBY. Of course that sets up a paradox but that could be what they do to get Jaune out of the picture… I really hope I’m wrong.
I see them going to Vaccuo still and one more outfit change (If they don't rush) cause I think they said 12 volumes and they've been kinda doing a rule of 3 but I think it's going to be like we did in season 4 where we cut to the folks in Vaccuo without team RWBY and Juane while they finish the everafter stuff\ beacon crown stuff cause I think we may see what happened to everyone else at least in somewhat real time and they'll cut from journey to journey like season 5 cause we still have Mercury is still out there against Emerald, we have to see if the cat joins Salem to gather the relics (or if it IS the relic) and then I think Team RWBY will meet up with them about the time it's halfway-post through the vaccuo story like they did in season 5 where they go to protect the sword and fail\ win but I think RWBY accidently bringing the crown and the cat into play WAS the speedrun cause unlike Neo the cat WANTS the gods to show up and has a reason to work with Salem and Cinder so I think the end of the Everafter will end up accidently bringing the crown into play but I think we'll see part of Vaccuo though I am 50\50 on a timeskip myself
The last volume however, I see being the "final battle" which means 10 or 11 has to bring both into play and with us still resolving the ever after I feel like 10 is going to be another "split arc" like 4-5 were where we'll see the beginning of 10 be team Vaccuo with Emerald, Winter, Crow, Robin, Ren, Nora, Oscar, sorta Whitley who I think may officially join the team in some manner or just get "off-screened" with his mom and either a. they get killed afterall to give Weiss more reason to be traumatized b. they play a role in winter's death and somehow weiss gets the powers in the end, or c. off screen happy ending and I could see them doing that to team sssn and cfvy's story (which is why we follow them individually) cause the crwby team doesn't want to bring them into play till that ending battle and then bring the crown back so either we use those teams instead of RWBY J Neo to get the destruction relic and other maiden potentially from Mercury, Cinder and Salem, or into their hands cause the team is weakened without RWBY and Juane, and that's why RWBY and Juane come back to "Vaccuo on fire" I doubt we won't get to see it in fact I think it goes the oposite way, endgame in Vaccuo after RWBY accidently gets the crown from the everafter and THAT might be part of what we get cuts or flashbacks to. I think Vaccuo has too much potential without team RWBY to not explore it partly
Basically I get the feeling to paralell 4-5 we're getting another whiplash then reunite volume where at the end of 9 we'll cut to what started the events of vaccuo and miss how they (get to the city etc.) and then it'll explore what happened there during the ever after while RWBY do the crown thing throughout or near the end of the volume (kinda like how 4 split between Weiss Yang and RNJR\JNRR and then 5 was Blake and Sun and the gang coming together again at Haven on accident) I feel like we explored the academy elsewhere cause we won't get to it till the end of it like Haven whether all the others have to fight without Ruby and co and lose or win or whether Ruby join up with them at the last second with the crown and "accidently" brings the relics together, or if they just "have the knowledge" it's in the ever after and have to fight the cat as well as the other villains to protect it after winning\losing the destruction relic. Still think 12 is the end though regardless of whether they skip vaccuo or split it up with everafter\ return to vale. I think though we'll get vaccuo we just may not get much of "vale in ruins"

The old arrive in Remnant in anyplace anywhere. You know? What I would enjoy seeing is the gods intervene. Placing Ruby-j where they need to be, not where they want to be. Them showing up at Beacon would be a good hook. It also is dependent on the passage of time to repossession some main toons. Now. Will time passing be a one for one? Which way will time flow? Rt could do the GenLock suicide thing to end their show. With rwby-j jumping into the tree and leave it hanging there. The show Gargoyles did stuff like this. I truly fear that this may be the last volume. That the cliffhanger, the real one. Is a does this crossover with Ruby and Dee C comics make good? That could be why no monies have been allocated to the tenth Volume of RWBY.

Not my preferred outcome, but I've been thinking about what I'd do if I were CRWBY and got the memo a few years ago that we should shoot for 10-and-done. What would it look like to try and land that plane? I think you've done a good job of outlining some of the possibilities here. Here's hoping they're given at least 2 volumes to wrap up. But, if capitalism demands it, I think they could do it in 1.

That would certainly be extreme, though I'm not sure how everyone would react to literally everyone being dead when they return. Killing off some side characters is alright but it'd mean all our secondary characters would likely be dead or on the imminent verge of death. Not sure the fanbase would be on board with that.
I think it would be a huge missed opportunity on many levels to skip over Vacuo, and I genuinely think RWBY as a whole will last at least 12 volumes. I know that's wishful thinking considering how RT is, but im keeping my hopes up. I'd rather that then have an extremely rushed Volume 10 where everything is wrapped up

If they did a giant time skip after our time in Ever After, I would drop the show instantly and not look back. I agree that the pacing has picked up over the last 3 seasons, and not entirely too thrilled by it. I'm still of belief that there's way too much plot to wrap up in two episodes with adequate pacing (I'm already predicting that I'm not gonna like the last two episodes, cuz i can't see there being enough plot for a second season in Ever After). If they skip any big fights with Salem and showing what happens with Salem now having two relics, it's not gonna be good because that means that we will be getting the first episode or two that would strictly be exposition to catch the audience up with what happened in Vacuo. And as we all know, giant swoths of exposition are terrible and lazy writing.

I could see a chapter or two doing that, but given the arguments surrounding team RWBY even being away from the main plot for this volume and previous complaints about their involvement in the story I feel like there'd be overwhelming criticism and negativity towards an entire volume that took the focus completely away from team RWBY. I agree it'd be interesting and personally I'd like to see it but I don't think the reception overall would be positive.
@@YouAllWrite I agree especially with what happened after volume 4 where everyone was mad about how bad it was due to the team being away from each other. I personally think that there should just be at least one chapter showing what happens in Vacuo because it would suck to not be able to visually see what happens and just have to rely on the characters dialogue or brief flashbacks for that information. What ever happens in Vacuo can’t be as grand and deserving of a whole volume like the clusterf**k that is the Ever After.
I would LOVE for this to be the case! I’ll admit when I heard we would just focus on team RWBY I got a little disappointed because until the 2 most recent episodes I haven’t really liked them, even now I only like Weiss, Ruby, and Jaune’s characters.
I’d like to see it, but I don’t think they’d do more than 1 episodes like that. Honestly they should make it supplementary material as a book or graphic novel or something.
Another great video! Whilst I still hope that we do explore Vacuo for a lot of reasons even though I fear the show will not do Vacuo justice based on the books due to runtime which has always been a major weakness of the show unfortunately. I don't think there's enough awareness of how short RWBY technically is in comparison to many other mainstream shows despite going for 10 years (e.g. a mainstream show going for same amount of time would probably have double or more the runtime in the same amount of years).
Which is a topic I want to respond on specifically is how long RWBY is going to be, obviously there's no real known answer and most people go back to that clip from Monty on the Afterbuzz TV (timecode being 15:40, where he said 7-10. Which would match with the idea of rushing to the end with V10 which would be disappointing but what was also said in that interview included Monty saying how some small or big things can become bigger or smaller later on or they can make certain things happen quicker or longer. He also specifically mentioned how V1-V3 was supposed to be 2 volumes so his estimation might not be correct. And I believe Miles mentioned at some point that Atlas falling was supposed to be V3 (I've not been able to find citation for that but I remember it) but if that's true that's insane ambition on their respective drive to go through the overall story.
However there is also a lesser known interview 'RTX London 2017 RWBY Roundtable with Lindsay, Barbara, Gray, and Kerry' where Kerry was asked how long RWBY was going to go for (timecode: 22:14) and he answered '10-12' and that they're not at the halfway point yet. Specifically the interview took place the day of or day after V5 Chapter 1 'Welcome to Haven' premiered which was 14th October 2017. So naturally if V5 is not quite half way, that should probably make V6 the halfway point in which that should be 12 volumes. However, both Kerry and Monty in both interviews mentioned how often things can change and how much they can bite off from their roadmap within a single year and such. So I'm definitely willing to believe the 10-12 but I'm really hoping it's 12 (or even more - though I would prefer an even number so if not 12 then 14 which could work symbolically as the 4 seasons but you can technically do that with 12 because of the idea that 3 volumes is 1 season of RWBY).
I'm hopeful they won't be super speeding to the end but recent RT scandals and everything else does give me a lot of concerns for what that's going to look like and RWBY's future but my wishful thinking bet is on 12 volumes.

*the series is properly finished. If they end it with v10 then it not only needs to be like 20 episodes, the runtime needs to be way longer
*we don't get a Neo/Cinder/Mercury redemption arcs

It seems Neo is being set up to die either this volume or next volume, and Mercury has never shown any desire to leave the villains, so I don’t think he and Neo will get redemption arcs. Cinder’s definitely too far gone to get a redemption and will probably be killed off as well.

The Cat's a different story because he may have a more prominent role in the future.
Ruby however Ascending into Reaper and then steam rolling Neo would be cathartic. I don't know much about this show myself but I've seen a few battles and Ruby always seems to struggle against the opposition.
The dark version of Ruby would probably stalk the rest of Salem's group and as you say "End Them" one by one, shocking even Cinder.
You're gonna be disappointed with that last one. lol.
Another thing to keep in mind. Time obviously flows much faster here if Jaune was able to meet Alyx, a character from a fairytale mind you. At least a 100 years must have have passed outside to get to the time when RWBY arrived, just from when Alyx arrived. And Jaune’s spent 30 years in the everafter at the most, so I’m just saying.
What info do we have on the summer maiden?
Bc as far as I remember, she’s MIA so if the sword is going to be out, they’ll have to find her and anyway, why would they even release the relic from its vault unless they planned on using it against Salem? And isn’t there this whole thing (or is it a theory?) that in order to use it you have to give something up which is why there was a theory that this was why there was this whole emphasis on Jaune having a ton of aura with specs to his past? (More specifically, the whole thing with his ancestors being warriors and Tyrian’s interest in him)
the problem with the ten year time skip in remanent is that, salem wouldn't let thinsg lie for roughly more than 1 or 2 years. she's been making moves, big moves, so yeah she would probably keep things going

@13:22 yeah there was a crwby video after the paper pleasers episode where i thought, oh instead of him staying behind or jsut probably gonna die, he goes back and there is a time skip. I think they said something along the lines that implied it was at most 20-30 years for Jaune in the ever after.

I've been kind of wondering about the same thing ever since the book started coming out. Not only that, but the original 10 seasons of RVB, follow a somewhat similar structure. You had five volumes of a lot more comedic stuff going on, and there's definitely a transition once you get to 6 7 8 just like with RWBY. It's been a while since I've seen the show, but I specifically remember V9 being in a simulation similar to the Ever After in RWBY V9. Provided they adapt the novels, and do a few more animated spin offs for stories that we never got, if it's a long one, and if it's a few years from now 10 could be the end.

I can totally see Team RWBY and Jaune arriving at Beacon, getting saved by the Beacon Staff, Ruby and Yang have a big emotional reunion of Tai, and Glynda gives them a airship, only for them to crash in Vacuo and have to make their way to Shade Academy, and most of the side characters are dead, Marrow is the only surviving Ace-Op, Robin and the Happy Huntresses are dead, team SSNN is just Sun and Neptune, Velvet is the Summer Maiden and Oscar is the new 'Headmaster/Leader' of Shade because Theodore died and he's a few weeks away from completely merging with Ozpin.
I think the idea that they will show up in vale makes the most sense, with the relic of choice being linked to beacon academy. It would also be a nice echo of season 8, when team RWBY called for help but nobody came - and in season 10 Salem is about to take the relic from Vacuo but Everyone comes to help (also, all 4 relics would be at the same place)
Once they leave the EverAfter one place I think where they'll end up arriving in is Patch, the island where Ruby and Yang's hometown is. Possibly in front of Summer's gravestone and they'll have walk to the house where Tai, Zwei, and maybe Raven will be there to greet them. As for how much time will have passed I'd say around a few weeks/months to a year at most

We still have 2 related questions regarding the Ever After:
1. How did Alix and Lois fell into Ever After in the first place?
2. Where would team RWBY pop back out in Remnant when they leave Ever After?
Considering that the tree is obviously inspired from the Norse mythology of Yggdrasil, it is likely that the tree is the bridge that links all the vault pocket dimensions. Ambrosious probably knows this when Ruby asked him to create a bridge that links through the place "like the pocket dimensions". Alix and Lois probably fell through the vaults into Ever After before Oz sealed them. The way time flow is out of whack in Ever After makes this possible.
My theory for a while now, is that team RWBY will exit Ever After through the vault of Vacuo. Perhaps Oz's magic only seals it from the Remnant side, but the door can be opened from inside the pocket dimension side without the Summer maiden's power. Or Oscar realised that they fell into Ever After, and knows that the way to save them is to enter Ever After through the vault in Vacuo, and got the Summer maiden to open it from outside.
It would make sense for team RWBY to exit into Vacuo to progress the story, rather than appear at some random place far away, and then having to waste time journeying to Vacuo. We already got that journey seasons going to Mistral, and I don't think fans want another one like that.
If all the above is true, and the cat tuned into the crown somehow when it enters Remnant, then it would make for an interesting start for season 10, with Salem and team RWBY and friends possessing 2 relics each prior to the confrontation.

I always thought that in order for this season to not be considered filler with only character development, they were going to have to gain something from the ever after that would give them an advantage over Salem especially since she now has two relics.
Osben said he hid Beacon’s relic in a real hard place to find. I’m beginning to see that the cat is the relic, just in a different shape for this place. Since we’ve seen that the cat can change shape at will. I think that’s why Osben didn’t seem too worried about Salem getting Beacon’s relic. Just a thought. I do like the idea that time travels at a different pace here. Ten years might be pushing it though.

I feel like RWBY is going to end at volume 14 or 15. You get two decent volumes back wtith everyone on Vacuo and then two volumes of a fight
I'm fine not going to Vacuo, but I think I would be disappointed if the show ended next volume. I feel like the show needs a little room to breath after this before jumping to the end. 2 volumes would probably do the trick. You could use next volume to start taking care of loose ends and then just go all out in the final volume.
They could also do another volume where the episode time is split. Part of the time we are with JRWBY wherever they wind up, part of the time we are in vacuo with the others. That would be another way to accelerate getting the last relics on the field. You spend next volume getting the last relics out (maybe capturing the crown instead if it stays inside Neo). Now both sides have 2 and you spend the last volume in all out war.
I feel like the writers clearly screwed up in writing Salem's plan. In general, having the villains plan be the very quest itself just leads to "futile writing" because of course the villain needs to be thwarted at 99% completion. We, as the audience, want to see everything so of course Salem needs to get to all vaults and get all relics or it'd just be lacking.
There's no way anyone wants to see team RWBY go to another vault, fail to protect it, then, for whatever reason, take out the relic anyways. Two more times before heading to Salem's castle. This whole volume has been about Ruby dialing so I doubt they'll let her fail some more

Of course it is likely that Salem gets everything. As for a video game narrative... yeah, that's RWBY's narrative. It is structured like a classic PS1 JRPG. It's kind of why I love it, really. Disk 1 was Beacon/Vale. Disk 2 was Mistral (and sectioned off parts of Menagerie, Patch, and Atlas), Disk 3 is Atlas/Ever After, Disk 4 will be Vacuo/Return to Beacon/End Game.

See i seem to remember that one of the writers i think it was Kerry said they wanted over 100 people for volume 10 so i think that says we are heading towards endgame.
And regardless of if we get to see Vacuo or not (I hope we do if only for a short time) then i want the first person they meet to have no idea who they are and to treat them like they have gone mad until they get back to whatever leadership they have and there we see much older versions of people we know like Winter, Ren and Nora and i want that person they first meet to be revealed to be Ren and Nora's kid.
I’d like to think the real problem will be WHERE they return to rather than when. I think that they’ll return to remnant at beacon and will have to fight the Grimm dragon as they exit the beacon vault! And they will need to get to Vaccuo!
Idk if anyone had ever mentioned this but after the whole twist with the fox and the hound, I had always assumed there was going to be this whole twist where the Grimm atop beacon was going to be summer.
Edit: I mean to say that aside from Salem, this fight would be the last confrontation so I doubt team rwby would appear at beacon first, deal w everything there then move in to vacuo. If anything, it’d be the other way around or like you all write said, the vacuo arc will be skipped and continue on with the beacon arc

Qrow and Robyn are with what remains of the Ace Ops. They were last seen above Atlas as it was falling after the closing of the portals. So Raven won't be able to port them to Vacuo that way.

This argument makes no sense. Of course the gods made ever after and the cat - the gods made everything. The gods also made the relics. So saying the gods made the cat doesn't rule out it also being a relic. They made all of those things and they could be the same thing. Saying the god made the cat therefore it couldn't be a relic, when even Jinn says the god made her too is illogical.

Tbh, if other media like Futurama or even some animes are that long I do not mind if RWBY finishes with 3 more volumes if they expand the length. Or if they decide to shorten it like you are putting forth, it would be nice if they werent rushed with the episode length. Which is why I am okay with them ending with 12 volumes or 13. If Rwby is meant to be a anime like media, then I have no problem with that. After all how old is One Piece, Dragonball, or even Bleach or Naruto?
Honestly I think skipping Vacuo is probably for the best because really what would Vacuo offer? Do we really need to see the same sequence of: go to the academy, meet the headmaster, meet the maiden, Cinder shows up, kill the headmaster, kill the maiden, powers go to a pre-established character. Do we need to see that for a fourth time? No we really don't, its getting boring. Volume 9 is as good as it is because it is such a big departure from that formula. Not to mention, that narratively, having a sequence repeat 3 times is more satisfying than 4, hence why we call it The Rule of 3's.
time skip might also help with the oscar/ozma situation if you want his merge to happen sooner. They could possible age him up.
Pretty sure the end of the show will have Ozma move on with his mission completed and Oscar will be able to live the rest of his life freely as an individual.

Oh and as an added bonus the second to last episode had the paper star people revealed to have their entire city obliterated was a good thing as the new or next iteration came by and cleaned everything up.
So I get the feeling they will hand the last relic over to Salem in hopes that the gods fix everything or the world gets blown up, but the next iteration of it will be better than the previous world.
Just like how the weak paper people needed constant protection the new version of them do not need constant protection.

As much as I'd hate it for them to skip over Vacuo, I would understand why they would do it with everything that's gone on behind the scenes with CRWBY and RT as a whole. Maybe we could skip to the final arc of the show in Beacon/Vale and maybe one day we could get a OVA/spin-off of what happened in Vacuo. Like worst case scenario we got 2 books of Vacuo, but it would awesome too see Team SSSN/CFVY/Beacon Brigade.
What if Jaune is that King that was mentioned in the past? He goes back, but not to the same time as team RWBY. Of course that sets up a paradox but that could be what they do to get Jaune out of the picture… I really hope I’m wrong.

I see them going to Vaccuo still and one more outfit change (If they don't rush) cause I think they said 12 volumes and they've been kinda doing a rule of 3 but I think it's going to be like we did in season 4 where we cut to the folks in Vaccuo without team RWBY and Juane while they finish the everafter stuff\ beacon crown stuff cause I think we may see what happened to everyone else at least in somewhat real time and they'll cut from journey to journey like season 5 cause we still have Mercury is still out there against Emerald, we have to see if the cat joins Salem to gather the relics (or if it IS the relic) and then I think Team RWBY will meet up with them about the time it's halfway-post through the vaccuo story like they did in season 5 where they go to protect the sword and fail\ win but I think RWBY accidently bringing the crown and the cat into play WAS the speedrun cause unlike Neo the cat WANTS the gods to show up and has a reason to work with Salem and Cinder so I think the end of the Everafter will end up accidently bringing the crown into play but I think we'll see part of Vaccuo though I am 50\50 on a timeskip myself
The last volume however, I see being the "final battle" which means 10 or 11 has to bring both into play and with us still resolving the ever after I feel like 10 is going to be another "split arc" like 4-5 were where we'll see the beginning of 10 be team Vaccuo with Emerald, Winter, Crow, Robin, Ren, Nora, Oscar, sorta Whitley who I think may officially join the team in some manner or just get "off-screened" with his mom and either a. they get killed afterall to give Weiss more reason to be traumatized b. they play a role in winter's death and somehow weiss gets the powers in the end, or c. off screen happy ending and I could see them doing that to team sssn and cfvy's story (which is why we follow them individually) cause the crwby team doesn't want to bring them into play till that ending battle and then bring the crown back so either we use those teams instead of RWBY J Neo to get the destruction relic and other maiden potentially from Mercury, Cinder and Salem, or into their hands cause the team is weakened without RWBY and Juane, and that's why RWBY and Juane come back to "Vaccuo on fire" I doubt we won't get to see it in fact I think it goes the oposite way, endgame in Vaccuo after RWBY accidently gets the crown from the everafter and THAT might be part of what we get cuts or flashbacks to. I think Vaccuo has too much potential without team RWBY to not explore it partly
Basically I get the feeling to paralell 4-5 we're getting another whiplash then reunite volume where at the end of 9 we'll cut to what started the events of vaccuo and miss how they (get to the city etc.) and then it'll explore what happened there during the ever after while RWBY do the crown thing throughout or near the end of the volume (kinda like how 4 split between Weiss Yang and RNJR\JNRR and then 5 was Blake and Sun and the gang coming together again at Haven on accident) I feel like we explored the academy elsewhere cause we won't get to it till the end of it like Haven whether all the others have to fight without Ruby and co and lose or win or whether Ruby join up with them at the last second with the crown and "accidently" brings the relics together, or if they just "have the knowledge" it's in the ever after and have to fight the cat as well as the other villains to protect it after winning\losing the destruction relic. Still think 12 is the end though regardless of whether they skip vaccuo or split it up with everafter\ return to vale. I think though we'll get vaccuo we just may not get much of "vale in ruins"

But, if capitalism demands it, I think they could do it in 1.

That would certainly be extreme, though I'm not sure how everyone would react to literally everyone being dead when they return. Killing off some side characters is alright but it'd mean all our secondary characters would likely be dead or on the imminent verge of death. Not sure the fanbase would be on board with that.

I think it would be a huge missed opportunity on many levels to skip over Vacuo, and I genuinely think RWBY as a whole will last at least 12 volumes. I know that's wishful thinking considering how RT is, but im keeping my hopes up. I'd rather that then have an extremely rushed Volume 10 where everything is wrapped up
the crunchiroll deal actualy might be a nail in its coffin, crunchi likes taking credit for things, weve seen icequeendom, thell kill the series then anounce a proper full anime reteling from start to end. get that cash from rwby fans and from weebs who will say "uts good now because the great japan has blessed it"
If they did a giant time skip after our time in Ever After, I would drop the show instantly and not look back. I agree that the pacing has picked up over the last 3 seasons, and not entirely too thrilled by it. I'm still of belief that there's way too much plot to wrap up in two episodes with adequate pacing (I'm already predicting that I'm not gonna like the last two episodes, cuz i can't see there being enough plot for a second season in Ever After).
If they skip any big fights with Salem and showing what happens with Salem now having two relics, it's not gonna be good because that means that we will be getting the first episode or two that would strictly be exposition to catch the audience up with what happened in Vacuo. And as we all know, giant swoths of exposition are terrible and lazy writing.
It would be a major disappointment if we don't. But all I can say is Maybe.
Yeah I think the show is sadly running out of time and steam. If the show does continue past V9, I only expect one or two more volumes
I hope that Team RWBY will be the only full focus for RWBY Volume 10! What if RWBY had a massive time skip since we've left off in Reminant!
