Amazing landing! Didn't even make a sound! Loved watching the shadow move across the ground, too - that was great! Didn't take long for that windshield to clear out once the throttle was firewalled! It was clear, and you were deep into the triple-digits before I even realized it. Always great to watch! Speaking of boating, back when my dad retired, he picked up a Sea Fox center console. The very first time he, my brother, and I headed out into Cape Cod Bay, it was as smooth as a mill pond! I've lived here my entire life and had never seen the bay that calm before. Didn't think it was possible up until then! What an amazing first outing! Could see dolphins everywhere - they were running on both sides of the bow as we were under way! Wish I had something better than a flip phone in those days, but still managed to get some amazing pictures. I'll never forget that. Anyway, thanks for another great vid, as usual, Greg!
Greg, I'm still loving all of your videos & all that you do for us on here. I must say, though, that would have to be the most AWESOME landing I've ever seen! I wish I was there with you, to "not" feel the wheels touch! I had a big grin from ear to ear. (Not that I don't smile from your videos anyway) Awesome! Clear blue skies & safe flights, my friend!
Fab video, thank you for reminding me how glorious Florida can look, beautiful blue skies wish I could be there again. Liked the air density info and fuel economy data. I certainly remember how stunningly clean the air feels down there. Happy days 😀👏🇬🇧
Nice ride, and a great landing . Thanks for taking us along. I was a crewmember on EC-130E (ABCCC) (JSOC) 82 -91. We had a LTC that did that ever time. LtC Gosnell , nick name Old Fart. At the time he retired he had flown everything the AF had . Everybody enjoyed flying with him. Until next time , thanks for sharing.
Greg, thanks SO much for taking the time to give us these videos! They one so many memories for me, evoking a "lost" world I came to love. I flew co-pilot on a Lear 24 back in the 70s, when you didn't need to be Typed yet. As a woman, I was very useful because I could get so much out of ATC...straight-in approaches, higher FLs, etc. (Why don't you ever ask for higher altitudes??) I was always awed watching the terminator as we flew north, or climbing out fast enough at sunset to make the sun "rise" again, or watching our "glory" surround our shadow on a cloud deck below. It is a beautiful world up there!
A little IFR taxi going on there, lol! Loved the final landing shot. I realized you have the established the ability to go back through your videos to follow any visual wear and tear progression to plan for maintenance costs.
Yep, that was a squeeker...nice one. I fixed c-141 radar and navaids back in the day, and really enjoyed working on Collins gear. Later met Art. His main complaint at the time was that he couldn't get his CW key on his radio hooked up to his computer. He hated the keyboard, but thought he would be able to manage better with his key. Thanks for taking us along. Tom
I like your airplane, because it seems like the perfect jet for a retired fighter pilot, with it appearing very sleek and maneuverable and having room you need to carry your friends and family comfortably👍 btw I didn't feel the landing either😉 I enjoyed the flight very much and I'm glad that I was able to hitch a ride🛩🙂
Man you landed that thing as though it were a Bird!!! That has to be the smoothest landing & touchdown I've ever witnessed in my entire Life!!! Great Flight, picture perfect textbook landing bro!!!
I think you made the best choice of jets, love the layout and feasibility of operating this type of craft... just wonder what the Premier "2" would have had... we just had about 3" of snow here in the Colorado Mountains... going boating and fishing and the warm weather has its appeal with me right now... I'm not Jealous. I could tell right off during your flare that it was going to be a smooth TD Thanks for all you do Greg your a good buddy.
Nice video. I'm curious about your thoughts towards the demise of Lear Jet. You fly a jet that was discontinued even though it was superior in many ways to jets that are in production today, and having flown in a Lear 31, I believe the Lear is superior in several ways to some of its rivals (the ability to cruise at FL500 westbound, above the jet stream comes to mind). I think one of its downfalls was the lack of a single pilot option. It's always sad to see a pioneer fall by the wayside.
That was a sweet ride and perfect landing, Greg. For the dew-covered windshield, how about a squeegee with a telescoping handle? I use mine for house windows - it extends to 12 feet and retracts to 6 feet. Maybe you could stow it in your luggage compartment?
Thanks for a great ride this morning Greg. I’m jealous that you are going out in your boat. It’s been raining here in Slidell for the past couple of days and they’re predicting temps in the 20’s Monday! When we lived in southeastern Mass, my wife and I would vacation in Sarasota in a condo right on the beach. The beaches are beautiful. That landing on Naples 05 was amazing! Smooth as Ice on Ice! Fair winds and following seas my friend!
