I have this exact car, currently work at a Mazda dealership so I'm in and out of a lot of Mazdas. The seats in the outback are far more comfortable than the ones in the CX-50. The Mazdas are definitely tuned to be more "sporty", but the Outback is quieter and far more comfy.
I have a 2024 Onyx OB. Love the Harmon Kardon because I love my music. I live in Northern Wisconsin and it is amazing in the snow and ice here. And the Onyx looks SO much better than all that chrome. I am single no kids, but still use the space for my hiking and kayaking trips.
Agree. I am 6'3. Not super tall or anything..and I test drove a CX-50 and the front seat hardly went back at all. I was so cramped I didn't even bother driving it. Outback I have tons of leg room. So it was a no brainer for me.
I finally got my outback (11-1-24) that I have been wanting for three years.... I got the premium edition in magnetite gray.... love it love it love it... did I mention I love it?.... there isn't one "zonk" for anything I dislike about this car (except for that stupid auto start/stop but at least that can be shut off
I'm on my 5th Subaru. 2.5 rs, 3x wrx and now I ride a crosstrek wilderness 24. I think I'll go back to a wrx when they get rid of the plastic clading around the wheels.
People knock the infotainment screen of Subaru but as an Outback owner I have say line works really well and the way they integrate it into the dash looks so much better than those pop screens or tablet monstrosities on vehicles that cost a lot more.
Drove a Cx-50. Got an Outback. I am 6'3...not even that tall..and the CX-50 had no driver legroom. I like some space and not feeling cramped. CX-50 looked ok. but I am not driving something I am cramped in.
@@drn13355 How easy is it for a tall man to get in? Is there decent headroom for the driver? I am also 6'3", but with a long torso, so headroom is an issue for me.
What's your other vehicle? I don't know if I'd consider it fun. The steering is rather vague and mushy - but it's a lot more engaging and comfortable than a truck or most SUVs.
@@Monkeyseemonkey79 I turn off all the driving assistance features and that way you drive the vehicle, the all wheel drive stick to the road nicely and the cornering is nice when you get it into 4500-5000 RPM and that is what I meant fun to drive in a twisty road. My other vehicle is a Lincoln Nautilus with the 2.7 Twin Turbo V6 with 335HP. that one has the acceleration and power that the Subby lacks.
Great vehicle , biggest drawback is the anemic 4 banger ( no turbo), my buddy has a 2010 Outback with V6, really good passing power, merging onto the interstate in this 4 banger, ain't making it.
I have a 24 OB Onyx, same engine, and it has never lived up to the 26/32 mpg as the sticker indicates. Yes, I live in the desert but yet, I get 19/24. Had I know this, I never would have bought. Worse, the dealership here in Tucson simply says ‘nothing wrong here.’ What a disappointment.
Is it past the break-in period? I’ve been reading that a lot on the Subaru forums that gas mileage is nowhere near EPA figures on some models, especially wilderness
seems like subaru caught an extreme case of CVT...that happens when you are not careful...i wonder, how is it living with CVT? and how about that stigma?
This one looks pretty good in the outdoorsy/muscular sense. There was a generation of Impreza back in… around 2010 if I remember right, that was really looking economy.
So it doesn’t have wireless charging ? And no digital analog in 2025, manual passenger seats … probably Subaru buyers don’t care about these things but to me it’s lacking a lot of these features, and for the price.
Not enough power for the same size frame and almost 2024. Nissan Kicks is 40 horsepower lower yet way smaller. This needs Volvo wagon performance at least. Hell even Buick Regal Wagon
After watching that i love my mazda cx5 more😂😂 its a weird car making good looking cars is not in subaru dictionary whats with that ugly plastic hanging around

You can absolutely get a turbo on the Onyx trim. It's on the website and I own one.
Yeah that didn’t seem right! 😂
I own one 24 Onyx XT and it's badass!

2023 Outback onyx here. Been absolutely loving it. Super spacious and practical for a small family.

How is the backseat. ? I have adult sized kids
Mazda looks better outside but the outback is way more comfortable an bigger inside
I think you are spot on

i disagree, i just bought this wagon in dark green more so for the look then anything, I love it.
@@SunW4rri0r that dark Subaru green is beautiful. I would take Subaru over mazda as well, just pointed out that mazda is more flashy
In 10 yrs the outback will still look ok while the Mazda will look dated. Just look at any Mazda 10 yrs ago vs any Subaru 10yrs ago.
I have the 2024 Outback. I picked the Touring trim because I love the brown NAPA leather interior.

I like it, even the wheel arch cladding with this body color.
It works very well for sure
If your Crocodile Dundee and you go camping, you can sleep in the back of the Outback easier than you can in a Mazda CX50.
I like what you did there

Gotta love the simulated CVT drone!

Joe, the Onyx is also available with the turbo motor as the Onyx Edition XT. Makes for a better comparison with the Mazda.
I have the 24 Onyx XT. I love it!
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
I love my family’s 2024 Outback Onyx XT
Yes of course Joe and I would rather buy this.
ON Throttle and the engine says please hold the line 😂
is it me or is it that the bumper cladding does not match the cladding on fender, and the paint on the bumper looks darker than the body?
Where do I sign up for Dinner on a Wing for Thanksgiving?
In Colorado it’s a requirement for all Subaru owners to be accompanied with a Bernedoodle
Pretty great passenger seat pockets, should be the new standard with a phone/smaller compartment

Check Fuelly. Your MPG is far lower than what most current generation Outback owners are getting.

Isn’t that the Volvo infotainment system setup lol?
I like the Mazda better 😎
I think I’m going with you Tom!
Joe, you think 2026 redesign? Hybrid perhaps?
I think redesign but hybrid not to sure. They were suppose to have a hybrid Forester already and it is no where to be found.
@RaitisRides Only time will tell, I guess. 🤷♂️

Would be nice to commoditize AWD and hybrid tech for the masses. Probably young families
when full change new outback comming?
No exhaust showing to me is a big miss.
How people can call the outback SUV 🤔
This is wagon
I know how you feel
Ask Subaru. They actually do call it an SUV on their website.
Call it whatever you want. No one cares.
When are we getting the WRX Ts? 👀

the best looking outback, grab one while you can, next gen gonna be ugly AF.
