Jimmy - guitarist, composer, producer, and music architect as well. A real genius. What an incredible man!

The mandolin is one of the hardest instruments to play and Jimmy Page plays it like he's making his morning coffee

I love the way he plays the mandolin...

That's actually something that sticks with me more than anything. and he makes it look so easy when it is not an easy instrument to play. It's like watching the guy simply pour a cup of coffee

This man contributed just as much to the sound studio as he did on the concert stage. A true legend!

He must have just absorbed so much as a session man. He learned what he liked and didn’t like. He was so young too. He just used the experience to build his knowledge about music and how it was made. It was incredibly brave to use all his groundbreaking ideas to construct the Led Zeppelin sound. This is why today he’s considered not just a great guitarist. He’s a legendary songwriter, producer and innovator. What he’s contributed to Rock in the overall can’t be measured.

This is old footage but I still get goosebumps and catch myself giggling when I watch it... there might be more technically better guitar players than Jimmy.
But they did not write produce and record the songs that he did.
And that is the difference between a great guitarist on TH-cam that copy someone else's stuff.. and a guy that originated his own stuff that tens of millions of people have enjoyed

I’d imagine the cameraman for this would have just about passed out having JIMMY PAGE doing Battle of Evermore right in front of them.

Look at him still withholding his secrets. Used am echorec on John's drums to get the echo. Sure maybe it was recorded in the hall but, it was the echorec that gave the repeat on the snare.

Will Mac.. Yes, but the ambience of the hall was the ROOT of the sound.. the delay did little more than enhance it, not create it..

Not as imaginative as FM when they did the Green Manalishi vocals in the underground car park.
