    Why are you guys being so sceptical about the anti imperialist nature of the BRICS? If you look at the basic principles that the BRICS supports: genuine sovereignty, equality and respect between nations, co-operation, shared prosperity. And the aims of the BRICS for development, financial institutions free of the West, for moving developing countries up the value chain; surely all this is the opposite of imperialism and imperialist practice.

    • @presterjohn1697
      @presterjohn1697 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You might wanna check the record on that. BRICS is a largely neoliberal body. China has encouraged BRICS nations to set up free-trade zones throughout their territories. I wonder who benefits most under free trade zones and who loses? Let that sit.

    • @patbyrneme007
      @patbyrneme007 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      The core of neoliberalism is private enterprise. China and BRICS is based on public-sector led investment in infrastructure, development etc. Which is the opposite of neoliberalism. Neoliberalism is based on competition and inequality while the BRICS and BRI is looking to build through cooperation and shared prosperity. Perhaps you think that the BRICS will not succeed in achieving it's goals. But you can't accuse it of being based on neoliberalism.

    The US empire has uncannily done everything possible to motivate the global south to seek alternatives. Most notably:
    1. Overly domineering and heavy handed when dealing with the developing countries. No respect whatsoever.
    2. The selfish and irresponsible approach in addressing its domestic financial and monetary challenges that causes devastating economic difficulties onto the developing countries.
    3. The aggressive policies in preserving its hegemonic power and doggedly persecuting Russia and China.
    4. The weaponization of the US dollar, trigger-happy sanctioning, illegal seizure of other countries’ US reserves, treasury bill assets and weaponization of SWIFT.
    Global south countries would be idiots if they don’t fight back and seek alternatives.
    The empire is now desperate, resorting to extreme measures to entice countries to stay in the dominion of the empire. The recent desperate attempt to twist the Saudis’ arm is a good example: promising absolute security guarantees, luring the Saudis with a nuclear program, etc. I’m afraid it’ll will do nothing but exposing how desperate the empire is.
    If BRICS’ expansion is successful, particularly if Saudi, UAE, Egypt, Iran and Indonesia, any or some of them are added, it would be the tipping point for the fall of the empire, albeit slowly.
    Let’s hope BRICS can pull it together.

      Not to speak about all corrupt elites this imperium has been backing for almost a century ... 😭😭😭 Can't count how much insults WE, subsaharan Africans, have been enduring over and over (low IQ, beggars, ...)
      TIME TO END THIS MESS AND PUNISH THEM !!!!!
      Either we go separate ways from them, or we die !

    I’m surprised at India’s Modi that he strongly supported the expansion. Here in western media, first they were saying he won’t go and then were saying India will strongly oppose. Modi without fear advocated for the expansion. I wonder if he was toying with west for a month ?

    • @huas5350
      @huas5350 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is not groundless. India itself is opposed to expansion. He is afraid that Islamic countries will join in and dilute India’s authority in the BRICS. India even advocates the 5+ concept at the BRICS internal meeting, which is similar to the concept of the five permanent members of the United Nations. The original founding country has Privilege, latecomers can only become followers, but unfortunately other member states do not agree with this hierarchical concept, and everyone pays attention to equality. Modi didn't want to offend other countries, so he was forced to change his mind.

      BRICS has advocated local currency settlement or 2 countries decide which currency to use in their trading. They are not advocating to use yuan or rubel.
      Dedollarising is not about replacing 1 fiat currency to another fiat currency..they will make sure all fiat currency can be used democratically. No fiat currency value above the other fiat currency.
      The only strong and stable currency will be that backed by nature resources. Basically everyone is cancelling Bretton Woods "one-sided agreement"

    Your discussion on BRICS meeting and its goals. What I can appreciate is the discussion is based on speculation and one can pick misplaced mimicking of openness about BRICS and it's intended to multipolar situation. The western colonialists are actually very crude in abusing foreign corporations who have taken the mental to slavery. Foreign corporations should desist in owning resources in foreign land but should act as skilled labour and must share profits where they earn from foreign land. It must be accepted that west failed to achieve similar success because they want others to be poor the years of oppressive arrangements. The other's view are explicitly crude Anti-China sentiments. Coups are USA initiated and should never occurred.
