I rarely comment on videos but I must tell you, your videos are among my very favorites. You never belabor your remarks and I appreciate not having to watch an hour long video to get the same information that could be given in a much shorter time. Thank you for being so generous in sharing all your knowledge.
Love this video and your others as well! You are a great teacher and don’t spend a lot of time with unnecessary conversation. So excited to try many of the techniques you’re teaching! Thank you!
One suggestion; use your ring mandrel or ring bender to put a slight curve in your top statement coil, this will keep it from rocking or catching! I love this ring.
Susan, I love your teaching methods. I like that there's no jabbering about unrelated topics. In just a few minutes I'm able to learn a new project to try and a new technique. In this video you use a Wrap and Tap that is larger than the one I'm founding. Has this specific tool been discontinued? The largest I'm able to find is 20 mm being the largest loop. Thank you for your videos!
You are a good teacher and you’re obviously very competent at making jewelry. I wanted so much to get into your video because I’m interested in making rings like this, but you made it in such a way that there was no focal point. At the beginning I wasn’t sure really what the ring looked like. You never stopped and showed us the detail of the construction of the finished ring. Nor did you show us at the end. The finished ring itself was barely featured. I’m not sure how much I like the ring because I didn’t get a good look at it in the passing glimpses. Sure, I tried stopping the video, enlarging the ring but they were such brief glimpses that you only got one perspective. I respectfully suggest that at the beginning you show the ring I.e. turn it around...show the back...the sides etc. That’s just a suggestion but I think it will make a difference to viewers like me.
I agree we need more up close shots of the ring and all the pieces you put together your videos are my favorite because I like wire working and soldering but most of the videos don’t do enough up close shots so we can see the small details
Cute ring. I enjoy your videos, but it would be really helpful if you showed larger and extended views of your completed pieces, either at the beginning or end of your videos.
I love your videos. But I made the mistake of purchasing the wrong hardness wire. Wondering in further videos could you specify what hardness of wire you are using. Thanks that would help a ton.
I love your videos everything is so concise and I think you have amazing designs and teach really hellfire wire working techniques! I have a few questions and a couple suggestions. Can you please tell us the hardness of the wires and what shape you use? Also can you please show more close up shots and shots of the finished product? It’s hard to see the details. Also, can gold filled wire be used for this? I know plated wires can chip but how does gold filled hold up? Lastly can you list links for the supplies such as the mandrels and bail pliers and other tools?
Amanda, Thank you for your comments! Check out our newer videos over the past year. We believe we have taken care of some of the viewing issues you're having with better closeups and backgrounds that make it easier to see the jewelry-making process. As for wire, this is a great suggestions and we are currently working on a Pro Tips video that will talk about all the different types of wire and their hardness and what's best to use for different typos of projects. We don't currently have a ring mandrel in stock as it sold out very quick, but you might be able to do a quick google search and find one. I like the ring my dear but can u plz show how to make a simpler/more delicate/dainty ring..as the arthritis in my hands/fingers don't let me do too much. I am a TRUE BEGINNER & LUV jewelry making sooo much!! TY! 💞 your vids
Hi Susan! I'm new to jewelry making and love your videos! I want to try making my first ring but all mandrels I'm finding have a flat spot on them where the measurements are...best I can tell your mandrel is completely round with the measurements stamped on it...where did you purchase yours? Thanks for all the great videos!
Hey Susan! The groove that runs the length of the mandrel is actually going to be much better than you think. This groove is designed to help hold your bead in place while you wrap your wire. Some older mandrels don't have it (like the one Susan is using), but have since been redesigned to include it. If you're still worried about it, don't be. The other side of the mandrel doesn't have the groove and will be a versatile working surface as well. It won't hinder or change your design as far as size at all. Hope this helps and good luck!

I love this ring and I enjoy using different types of metal. Did you put the silver in LOS? And what grit did you use on the file? Your tutorial was great and I understood all of it. I have everything except the automatic wire rounder and wrap and tap which I am looking forward to ordering. Thank you so much.
Hi Cheryl! I used LOS on some parts of the rings. Here is a link to a great kit that contains liver of sulfer from JTV! Not sure the grit of the file! www.jtv.com/product/finishing-kit-incl-buffing-blocks-liver-of-sulfer-gel-protectaclear-spray/JMKIT591

Hi Carmen, depending on the look you want, round and half round can both work. And as far as gauge goes, it just depends on how pliable you want your wire to be. The thicker the wire, the more difficult to manipulate but you should give it a go and see what you think!
Hi Rob! You weave the smaller gauge wire around the spiral ring to keep everything in place. When you're happy, use your pliers to pinch into place and keep any rough or sharp spots from rubbing against the finger.
They can. Metals often interact with the oils in your skin and sometimes lotions and that can turn your finger green. You can get a jewelry sealer that will help coat the metal and will keep your finger from turning green!

what is a wire resistor? I can't find it on Amazon.
Susan, I love all of your tutorials. I have learned so much. Is 14 gauge sterling silver good to use instead of 16 gauge? Round or half round? Thanks!
Hi Carmen, depending on the look you want, round and half round can both work. And as far as gauge goes, it just depends on how pliable you want your wire to be. The thicker the wire, the more difficult to manipulate but you should give it a go and see what you think!
Beautiful ring thank you for showing how to make it
I couldn’t see how you strung the wire at the end. Did you wrap on the inside ring?
Hi Rob! You weave the smaller gauge wire around the spiral ring to keep everything in place. When you're happy, use your pliers to pinch into place and keep any rough or sharp spots from rubbing against the finger.
For the 16 ga Sterling, do you recommend Dead Soft or Half-Hard?
Hi Dana! I recommend using Half-Hard.
Searching everywhere for your wire rounder can't find it where did you get yours and what is the actual name of it?
This is a Beadalon Bead Reamer. It requires batteries. You also need to get the burr attachments to go with it. They are available on Amazon.
Thank you ☺️ lovely
I have a 26 gage wire but is very hard to work with.
Using these wires will they make your finger green?
They can. Metals often interact with the oils in your skin and sometimes lotions and that can turn your finger green. You can get a jewelry sealer that will help coat the metal and will keep your finger from turning green!
Please zoom in on what you're doing
You are the Best !!!
