Did this on the weekend, removed the return line from bottom of reservoir to drain old fluid, refilled again and ran the engine/turned steering to circulate the new fluid, drained and filled once more to flush out old stuff, easy.
about steering liquid, even if the manual recommends transmission fluid try to use specialist steering fluid like lucas steering fluid that makes steering smooth & with chemicals that stop leaks. also you could do the easy way flushing the fluid from the return pipe of the reservoir with turning the steering wheel from right to left repeatedly on a pair of jacks (without turning on the engine, only on battery mode) awesome video
Another awesome video Nick, I’m 50 now but I’m sure your videos have taught me enough skills to be at least a 3rd year apprentice on my D-Max, lmfao , cheers from Wagga Wagga, really appreciate your tips
HI your channel is the best for isuzu d max or mux owners . can you make video about wash bonnet by water with no damge as you did in this video at last . thank you .
Here's a link to my coolant change video th-cam.com/video/ntd7SS5QaeI/w-d-xo.html It's not necessary to remove any of those things to get all of the coolant out of the system. Cheers
Hi Nick! Great vid mate! Im a watcher for you chanel from the middle east keep up the great content up! Been wondering how those Falken tyres are holding up? Been eyeing a set of them for a while now. Any input would be appreciated cheers mate!
Hey Adel, the falken wildpeak at3s have been great! Nice on the road, great in sand, rocks and gravel. Only down side is being an all terrain tyre they clog up quickly in mud. Other then that they are great!
Nick! I have a genuine Isuzu dealer type digital manual which suggest with the engine splash plates removed the vehicle can be jacked from the cross member in the center. What's your advice re the safety of doing it. You and I have always jacked from left and right. I have really enjoyed your videos, I have always serviced my own vehicles having spent half my life as a mechanic but at 83yo now I have with my MUX used dealer service but with my sons support and the aid of your videos I plan to have another go. Thank you once again. John
Hey John! I reckon the crossmember does look strong enough to jack off. I just prefer to do it one side at a time because my jack is only rated to 1650kg. That's great to hear. I'm glad that my videos have helped 🙂 cheers
Great how to! I recently did this on my my16.5. The service manual also says I need to replace one of the power steering hoses at 5yrs! Seems extreme. Interested in yours or others thoughts if there is a legit reason or just a cash grab.
I have never actually replaced one of those power steering hoses. It's always a good idea to inspect it each service but I haven't ever seen one fail (yet). Haha
Hi Nick. I am wondering about changing my Dmax alternator over to the Mux higher output model. Is this something you might be able to show? Great shows thank you
Hi Nick another well executed video and how to, thanks. Can you advise as to whether it is better to use a bolt on recovery point on front of vehicle or to use the welded rings on chassis know as transport tie-downs as some say that bolt on can tear off and that the tie downs are stronger.
Hey Bill, apparently the tiedown points on the mu-x and d-max are rated to tow the vehicle out but it needs to be used with a bridle and the 2 points linked together. I would personally recommend fitting some heavy duty recovery points. They are usually rated to alot higher rating then the factory points.
We have a problem , it is the bottom hose on the reservoir this is the return line , the top hose is the pump suction line , if your pump is in good condition it is nearly impossible to bleed thru the pump .
Thanks Nick, really appreciate your feedbacks. Still i wonder why according to my owner`s manual, the steering hose must be replaced every 80000 km@@LowRangeNick
Nick after completing the fluid change , I now have a leak from the pump's bottom hose fitting with the 2 x 12mm bolts. Is there a seal on this facing?😒
Enjoying these kind of videos, keeping it simple and well explained. Just wondering how you find the Falken A/T’s , good life out of them? I’m looking at them for my 4x4.
Thanks a lot! The falkens are a great all round tyre. Good on road, rocks, sand, gravel. Only down side is they clog up quickly in mud. Other then that they are a great tyre.
It is safe to full left and right turn the steering wheel while changing fluids and when the car is off? And one newbie question how to turn freely the steering wheel while the engine is off?
Hi when i lift the car should i push the start botton without turning the engine or should i put it on neutral position to make the steering wheel move? Which is best option?
That the original power steering fluid that you changed? My 2013 d max manual says every 40k this and all fluids need changing. How the specs have changed
More distinction, and I hope you add the translation into Arabic, as we have benefited greatly from your experience. May you and everyone remain happy.
Not a good idea to remove the two bolts where the hose joins power steering pump as in this video. You risk damaging the o-ring and having to deal with a leaking pump as in my case. Trying to get the correct o-ring is also problematic, Isuzu won’t sell you one because it only comes with the complete replacement hose.

Hello Nick where does o ring sit on the suction hose or in the grove
Hey mate,
What size tubing do you need to attach to the trigger for this to work? Can’t really find it in your listing.
Thanks!

If the cap says pa6, you need dexron VI?

Awsome😊
Hey, can you make a video about replacing the power steering hose on isuzu??
Easy! Drain fluid, remove hose clamps and take off hose. Fit new hose and clamps and bleed as per this video.
Thanks Nick, is it the hose coming straight from the fluid reservoir?
@@thescalpingant I believe it I the one from the reservoir to pump. I have never seen one fail though.

It is fine to turn it left to right with the engine off. You need to jack the vehcile up and have the wheels off the ground to turn it easily.
@@LowRangeNick thanks alot 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi when i lift the car should i push the start botton without turning the engine or should i put it on neutral position to make the steering wheel move? Which is best option?
My mux is 4x2 automatic with push start botton, keyless
@AJASA Just turn ignition on and leave in park.
Remove the battery, remove bottom hose insert 10mm hose into a container , move the wheels and you know the rest .
That the original power steering fluid that you changed?
My 2013 d max manual says every 40k this and all fluids need changing.
How the specs have changed
Yep that is the original fluid. The pre dpf and dpf models are a little different. Better to change it sooner though 🙂

@@johnpaulplotena2460 at least 2l is ideal.
