Normalky we knit into the front loop. By knitting into the back loop of the stitch reduces holes. It twists the stitch. Its really what the modern term - twisted rib - which is exactly the same. Correct me if I am wrong.
I love knitting with de rerum natura too but my grown daughter’s cuffs were breaking a little too. I reinforced the hard wear areas with some matching sewing thread and blanket stitch along the edges which is invisible but hopefully I will have less repairs in the future. It is still my favourite soft, real wool yarn though. First time watching the podcast, lovely 😊
You’ll find that even the softest yarn will start to itch when you’re warm. I’m sure you won’t have issues with the mohair being itchy in winter. I’ve used it and only react to it when it’s warm. Quite a few people find it a bit scratchier than other mohair because it has some wool content!
You are so right... :) I´ve worn it since and the mohair wasnt an issue at all! I´ll wear a layer underneath in winter anyways. Maybe I gor a little too exited about my finished sweater and wor it on the wrong day...
