Why did I leave my dream job in Manila? Why did I move to Canada? And why am I vlogging?
Here's my story in a nutshell!

HI Ina, nakarelate ako sa vlog mo. I myself a former broadcaster from the Pinas na ngayon ay vlogger dito sa Canada. Although I am much ahead of you in age and in coming to Canada pero both of us speak the same lingo , me being a former broadcaster of the government radio in a provincial station. I find a certain continuity ng pagraradyo sa vlogging, maybe you will too. Ganda ng intent mo na makatulong tungo sa pagkakaisa ng mga Pinoys dito sa Canada. Congratulations on your successful first video, surely the next ones will be more successful.

Great Vlog! Best wishes to you and your family! I can relate to your story. . . Me and my wife moved here from Singapore. . . We both worked as an architect in the Philippines, loved our jobs but it is really hard to make ends meet even though we worked really really hard. . . We moved to Singapore and had a better life there but no chance to become permanent resident. . .Moved to Vancouver . . Blessed to meet great people to help us navigate life here. . .Managed to work in Vancouver as an Architect and got registered. . . There were some challenges but we managed to get through it with the help of great supportive Filipino community here. . Canada has been good to me and my family and we to have a good work life balance here. . . We felt secure and less stressed . . . We are very happy that we can raise our daughter in this great country.

I can totally relate with you, Miss Ina! I remember seeing you before in Malacanang when I used to cover events there as reliever of Reymund Tinaza of Bombo Radyo. Kakalipat lang din namin ng wife ko rito sa Canada noong December of last year. Medyo kakaiba rin ang job ko rito kumpara sa pagiging reporter sa Pilipinas ng mahigit 6 years.

Hi Ina great vlog, ganda ng concept hope it grows and helps spread tips and awareness on how to survive here in Canada. I wanna share my favorite thing here in Canada. Everyone is in the same field. Same opportunities for everyone no favoritism, no nepotism, and all sorts of biased assimilations. Also equality here is something I really admired. I never had to call my bosses, teachers or any professional personnel "sir/mam". Respectfully calling them just by their names is enough.

Sorry to say this but i dont think you’ve in Canada that long enough to know this. There is nepotism in Canada. One example is our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. His father was a Prime Minister. Many other companies too.

Thank you for this vlog, Ms Ina... I am at the crossroads right now. I have my dream job. But I have this burning desire to migrate to Canada because I want a career shift. Nahihirapan din ako mag decide. But your story inspires me. Yung alinlangan ko na lang siguro dahil may edad na ako. I am 44 years old. May pag asa pa ba ako? may opportunity pa ba sa Canada ang mga may edad na?
Oh yes! Marami po ang lumilipat dito na 40 plus po. And interestingly, pag nagaapply po ng trabaho dito, hindi po dito required sabihin ang edad. 😊 Before you make a decision, mag-research lang po kayo ng mabuti and prepare po. Obviously, start from scratch po kasi dito. 😊

The potential for self-reinvention, along with the prospect of contributing to Canada's diverse landscape, adds significant value to the decision. It's worth noting that statistically, only 2% of immigrants in Canada eventually return to their original professions. However, I see no reason why you cannot be part of that 2% in due time! Totoo yan. Share ko lang din ang experience ko sa Canada. Napunta ako dito dahil sa parents ko. Pagdating ko dito may balak talaga ako umuwi after a year or two. Pero, I ended up liking it here kasi sobrang stress free and kahit yung unang work ko dito na call center agent, naka afford ako ng kotse. At may mga labour jobs na mas malaki pa ang sweldo kaysa nagoopisina, so there's no room to look down on someone else's job. Sa Pinas, may nag viral pa nga na ayaw niya ng construction worker pero dito yung bf ko na construction worker mas malaki pa ang sweldo kaysa sa akin na nagoopisina 😂

Hello Ina. We are new in Canada. Retirees. We arvd last summer 2022. Adjusting to new life. Permanent Residents status in CA. Masarap na mahirap din dito. We lived in singapore for 48 yrs. Our children born and raised in singapore. My daughter came to Canada 22 yrs ago. Our son is singapore citizen. Our daughter is Canadian citizen. Kaya 3 home countries kami literally. Totally different lifestyles. For young people/family, it’s good to live in Canada. Advantage lang talaga dito is the free medical. But it isn’t easy. Took us 9 months to be accepted by a primary doctor. Madaming primary doctors ayaw tumanggap ng new patients. You need to be contented just to go to walk in clinics. Walk in clinics, one topic/visit. Kung senior citizens with health issues, kailangan madami kang baon na pasensya. Madami kang baon na supplies ng maintenance meds. Another is adjusting to the weather. Coming from the tropics, big adjustment talaga for senior citizens like us. Kaya best to get out and go back to SG/PH before the next winter 2023-24. 😉😊 then fly back again to canada during late spring/summer.
Hehe mahirap po talaga ang biglang sabak sa cold climate! Fortunately, my body has already adjusted. 😊
Interesting point about access to a primary care doctor. Magtatanong tanong din nga po ako tungkol diyan, because my husband and I only have a go-to walk-in clinic/doctor for our medical needs. Thank you po! 😊
Canadian Health care needs an overhaul,but it's not easy to do otherwise each province have their own way to deal both the federal/provincial government.It's not easy to have a family Dr.,it take years to have one.

Thats right Ma’am you hit it perfect right now Iam retired with my husband and we did enjoy we did worked hard in healthcare but we were able to fix everything education is really good as you said the quality is there and as your child grow just be there always and whatever religion you have keep practicing and they follow you both of you will be successful and youll have good retirement not like in Phil youll be broke when you retire oh before I forget you got a great voice

Wise decision maam Ina ang pag for good mo dito sa Canada, I've been here sa Canada for almost 20 years at bakit ako naka pag decision mag Canada dahil nakikita at feeling ko na hopeless talaga sa Pinas .Government employee with part time job sa private institution po ako sa Pinas ng umalis patungo rito sa Canada
. Mag ba bakasyon nalang sa Pinas at tuwing uuwi sa Pinas at syempre mag ob observe sa kaganapan at pag babago sa Pinas at na pag tanto ko tama ang decision ko bakit umalis, hopeless na talaga ang Pinas, dahil sa mga natural calamities at human calamities.
