I miss my SHO sooooo badly. I had a 93. I foolishly sold it because it was my everyday driver (mistake) and I became really tired of the constant complaining from my wife about its reliability issues. They are for sure not the most reliable cars on the road, but for fun, any of you that have or had one know where i'm going with that. Words cant describe the feeling of pulling up beside some kid in a ricer thats laughing at you for driving a Taurus right before you blow his doors off.
Love my Taurus SHO. Sure, some small issues, but turned out to be a very reliable and durable car. Fast car. four doors. big trunk. decent gas mileage. this car is great. collectors items now.
The 1992 is the greatest car ever made. Especially for the price the go for today 1 owner perfect condition. However my 2009 Taurus X brings some competition since its got lots of seats and when you change the oil after 7.5k miles you feel like just putting it back in.
What if you don't have the keyless entry pad, like on my '95 SHO? I believe it still autolocked going into drive, but it doesn't now since an aftermarket alarm system was installed.
If he doesn't like the way the rear doors don't unlock when you park the car, he should try a GM vehicle of the same era... Even to open the driver's door you have to either push the unlock button or pull the manual lock. At least Ford made the driver and front passenger doors unlock when you pulled the handle!
Very true, but at least on my 1995 Buick Park Avenue Ultra all of the doors unlock when you shift into park. I guess that GM was thinking about the kiddies who might be in the front seat or something of that nature.
I have a 1991 mustang and parts for this car easy to find and order, I have found a 1992 SHO on kijiji abd have been snooping around to see who sells parts for the SHO, I guess its a rare car and there are some places online that sell parts and hey I am pretty happy of getting the SHO for some reason...... who uses who to get parts from like plug wires
the only thing that stinks about this car is that the ATX S-U-C-K-S. It WILL break. And it will break much sooner than you expect. The manuals are excellent.
summit racing sells for Taurus Parts A-1 Auto for the shoes you cannot find any parts for these cars at the part store only basic parts bike brakes but I'll tell you what these are a good car to own their considered a classic collectors Jay Leno pin these cars a collectible so you will have something worth a lot of money in the future not many people have the collector values of these cars is higher than the Kelley blue book value there's also a famous baseball player who collects these cars Jay Leno collect them and the baseball player
I be a 2012 Chevy Impala SS with one of these and the empower had 330 horsepower and I whoop that car also be a V8 302 Crown Vic also raced 80's Mustang 5.0 LX convertible and not guy push that car as hard as it will go and it couldn't keep up with this Taurus because not many realized that Yamaha engine was built have more power the only thing that stops IT from going higher is the alternator and power steering pump change that with the parts online you can get more horsepower and your RPM range will go higher they put a RPM limit at 7500 but the cars for the way past that these cards were designed for 350 horsepower by Yamaha but for did not want that he had more power than the Mustang already so for didn't want sedan outdo their mustangs so they had Yamaha make smaller cylinders smaller pistons and stuff like that you can get the original size online to make this engine push out what it can also agree engine to put nitrous oxide are these engines can go through a lot of abuse these are good engine very powerful
They produced about 285-300 hp from yamaha.Not 350 like you said,Ford fully dummied them down for reliability and cause they couldn't upstage the mustang 4.9..you might think I'm messing with you but any true mustang fan knows the 302 from that era is 4942cc or 8 ccs short of 5.0 liters.The stock SHO produced around 220 hp because a healthy one will be right around 190-195 who which falls right in line with the 220 hp rating for front drive
5 speed 1st and 2nd gen SHOs are still a force to be reckoned with.

Why couldn't you just hit the unlock button on the drivers door when getting out the car to unlock all doors.🤷🏽♂️

27 years later and My Ford Fusion Platinum locks all doors when put in drive but doesn’t unlock when I put in park and get out
