Ned Rig Nikko Craw Fishing in Springtime for Smallies, Spotted Bass, and Rock Bass

This was a 9 mile float in mid-April down the Harpeth River in search of some bass (smallmouth, spotted, and rock bass). I saw a little waterfall, a beautiful field of wildflowers, met some new friends, and caught a bunch of fish (including one big old stinky drum). I used primarily Nikko baits, including specifically, the Nikko Craw (green and red). I tried the Super Ned but only caught one fish with it.

GoPro hindsight. Very cool for fisherman using GoPros. It saves the previous 30 seconds of video and it’s always rolling. So if I press the record button, it records the previous 30 seconds and everything after until I stop recording. Very cool setting.

What too waters are you using?
Do you have any recommendations on what too waters to use?

Whopper plopper, always. I’ll occasionally use a Heddon puppy and walk the dog but I’ve never tried in the kayak.
