The only thing about dupes is they are often made of inferior materials by people unfairly paid (after a wash they are usually done for and off to the landfill). I'm all for off brands where you don't pay for marketing but the cost of materials and labor can only be cut so much without hurting someone or something. Also, knockoffs are just stealing other people's creativity & work!
It depends! For some of the brand products, you are just paying EXTRA for the name/logo - for their marketing cost, etc. Pretty much all these companies have their production facilities in China.
TMI I love Shein for anime/j-fashion/quirky/fairy clothes but the materials make my BO smell horrible and even after washing they smell. Can only get a couple of months out of them. I searched online and haven't found anyone else saying their clothing causes BO, but my other better quality clothes don't make me stink.
@@breakfastattiffanys741 Maybe you have some sensitivity to some chemicals they use that throws off your hormones or something like that. I have heard that can happen with chemicals but not sure why or how common it is.
Hey grace, not sure if you know but sometimes tiktok lists authentic products for a heavy discount to get people to buy from them. Tiktok takes the loss for the companies
Hiya! Long time fan and love all your content. I just wanted to say, that Tiktok shop isn't the best for sustainability, either for the environment or worker rights. It's like shopping off Shein which is commonly known to use slave labour. I think you're fab and it would be really great if you made the effort to not purchase things from a place where there are no worker rights, below minimum wage and general lack of respect for workers and instead supported more ethical brands. Doesn't have to be expensive, just not awful places like Tiktok shop
Unfortunately, shopping isn't sustainable. It's easy to criticize large platforms like TikTok shop or Shein, but a lot of production is horrible. For example, Nike is awful. Some companies are better than others, but the best choice is not to buy anything, even secondhand. Very, very few international companies take good care of their employees.
Fendi uses slave labour and had worse working conditions than Shein and multiple articles were written but you people are absolutely silent about that.
The little monologue on how people seem to blend into one personality is so true! I feel like plastic surgery makes all girls look the same and influences force products on everyone, so they end up "liking" the same things and looking the same.
Shoes are like the one thing I wouldnt buy cheaper because youre almost always guaranteed a worse product. Obviously some shoes are more expensive because of branding but I mean like 60 dollar shoes vs 20 dollar shoes, or 100 dollar boots vs 40 dollar boots. The difference is going to be noticeable for sure if you walk around and I would only buy cheaper shoes if I plan on wearing them for a short amount of time or my shoes disintegrate and I cant afford new ones.
Grace, you should really consider joining Operation Olive Branch’s Pass the Hat! It’s a fantastic way to use your influence to support families in need right now
Mad , that’s exactly what I’d be like too! 😂😂 I bet you are feeling so very cool now you know about all the extra bits you only just found! I would be! 😂❤
Hey, just wanted to let you know that the Stanley on fire tiktok was most likely a scam. They just burn like normal, especially all the plastic in the lid.
It’s like dupe food you buy in he supermarkets. People can only buy what they can afford. Some of the dupes are made in the same processing companies x
Surely its copyright infringement to be selling fakes and Tiktok should not be pushing this through advertising. I love the Laneige - you can get it cheaper, so worth looking around. I personally would never buy from TikTok shop as its no different to Shein and Temu, which are terrible for workers rights and the planet. But, i think you have done a great job at highlighting that you get what you pay for, and that you really don't know what you are putting on your face / body
For your lips, I recommend a lip scrub ( I think Superdrug’s Barry M range have some), a lip oil and a lip balm, both in the Honey Dream range by Nuxe. The balm has to be the one in the pot. I slather it on every night, all year long, use a scrub a few times a week and put the oil on in the morning.
watching the part where you test the stanley’s reminded me of your “ultimate water bottle video” this was the first video of yours i ever watched, many years ago ❤
In the netherlands tangle teezers (yes the og, without the handle though) ALWAYS seem to be on sale for 5 euros they are like the cheapest brushes out there
Just voicing on behalf of all the poorer people out there(didn't know how else to word it). We buy the dupes because we don't have the money for the real thing. Some of us are struggling financially, quite a bit. If it weren't for these dupes, we would be left out entirely as our funds would never be able to afford to real ones. Big up dupes.
There is no substitute for real Birkenstocks. :) As you say, those imitations are an ok test if you might like the real thing. Ive worn many imitations, then bought the real thing. The imitations fall apart within a year. Their arch support collapses very quickly. Ive gotten 10 years wear out of 3 different pairs of Birkenstocks. They are wonderful. Daily wear, no problem. A bonus is they are much more stable if someone has balance issues. I have spinal nerve damage so balance is off. I have fallen in other shoes, even ones billed as stability shoes. I switched right back to my Birkenstocks and no more falls. :) I love seeing all these dupes and how they are alike the real ones or different. Thank you!
Money doesn't mean quality anymore these days, it's often not possible to tell how long things last from the start. My detangling brushes get gross and they are kind of a pain to clean but they work so well. Just gotta get in there with dish soap and an old toothbrush and then bang it against something to get the last hairs and skindust whatevers out. Mine probably gets cathair trapped in there too, haha
I thought it would be a pain to clean my tangle teaser, however....I took the hair out (with a dental pick) after that I washed it with antibacterial soap (dial) & it was GOOD as new. I now do it 2 a month. (I also clean the hair out of my brush after every use. It's SO worth it, I promise. The shine my hair holds is so much longer than usual! (I do the same to my daughters now, and her hair does t get greasy even half as fast as it did before!) Not being preachy, I'm just offering some advice bc I felt it would just be a pain myself lol
I bought my daughter for Christmas a few years ago the Look fantastic version of the make up bag and I had a gorgeous flamingo and navy blue design and she LOVES it! I think I paid £12 for it two years ago but she’s still using it and it washes well!
For dry lips, i use a few drops of honey. Your lips will just suck it up & i only need to apply before bed & in the morning. On the rare occasions I wear lipstick, it causes my lips to peel, so i apply honey before the lipstick & it helps keep my lips soft. Can't get much cheaper, either! (Just try not to lick them, though 😁)
Grace, serious question... do you find it more difficult producing content since you got married and moved out of home or the same. Just genuinely curious. X
