I just did this swap on the tail light and marker bulbs only. The LEDs are super bright and fantastic. I've noticed though that when using my turn signal, they amber lights flash incredibly fast (both on front and rear of car). Did you encounter this as well?
Yes, this is something I'm living with simply because I had to ad resistors to the system in the first place to even get mine to work, so I figured that a working signal is a good signal🤷
Not exactly hyper flash, but the whole circuit needs resistance. After replacing the fronts and the rear signals, none of them would work. I added resistors on just the front, and it seems to work...blinks fast, but it works.
Oh wow I actually really dig those clear signal lenses, wasn’t sure how they’d look on a red car but they look very nice. Just a heads up, you can’t put LEDs in both the rears AND the fronts for the turn signals. It’s not a hyper flashing issue, but more so a really super weird grounding issue, where it will cause not only your rear turn signal to flash, but your lower tail light, and both your side markers to flash as well. I’ve swapped my whole car to LEDs except for the rear signal bulbs. I have no idea why on gods green earth it happens and maybe with your car if you swap the front turn signals out it’ll end up working just fine, but that was just my experience lol. Car is looking really really good. I’d love to see a demo of the lighting once you’ve got the rear all buttoned up.
Yeah, I'm having an issue with the rear not turn signals not turning on, but they do when the hazards are on, so it makes me think that the circuit needs more resistance. I have resistors that I will put on all of the turn signals if it still does it with the fronts connected (still disconnected ATM). I believe all it needs is a resistor but we will certainly see. Glad you like the build!🤙
@@howtoknight I will address everything on this car in a couple of weeks in an update video. Now that the car is fully rebuilt I will be going through the whole thing and describing what was done and what everything looks like. I am away from the car at the moment but next weekend I should have time to film the update. Stay tuned!
Wow! Good eye. Yes, I had the car repainted in Carmine Red which I think is such a beautiful color, and it's unfortunate that it is only on modern Porsches. Stay tuned for a paint reveal video!
I will be doing a full car overview in a week or two...I am not with the car at the moment, so it is kind of hard to make content right now. Stay tuned for that update video, I will go through the entire car now that it is rebuilt.
If I had to guess, it might be held in by the bolts that hold the license plate bracket on....remove the carpet off of the rear and there should be 2 bolts around the center of the car
Looks so nice! I'm in the Denver area and have a 1985.5 944 that I am working on. Who did your paint job? New to the channel, but great helpful content.
Thank you I appreciate it, the shop I took it to is called The Shop Body and Paint. They are family owned and extremely nice people. I highly recommend them if you can make the trip down.
Working on a nasty old 944 I want to see better days again theses vids are clear and helpful so thanks
Glad that I could help!

Did you have any hyper flash or need to add any resistor to the rear lights? Just plug and play?

oh man i really want these on my car, do you have any before and after pictures with the brightness of each?
I will do a post paint overview soon and I will include the lights.

@@TheMileHighMechanic Hey man, great job on the Taillights but is there an Update to this? How much ampere were the ones you soldered in? and where?

is that malvern red at the end? the paint is beautiful.

How do the lights look after you installed them? I was expecting you to show them on at night or something lol

So I need ro replace my taillights, what is the website you got them from?
I got them off of 944 online, they are made in Italy, but I don't know where else you can find them.
I know you don't have it on your car but do you know how to remove the Porsche centerpiece? That is where your license plate is on the 944?

I'll look. I'm going to keep it but I wanted brighter lights behind it for illumination at night and to clean it.

@@TheMileHighMechanic Thanks for the lead. A little far, but not out of reach!
@@chriscarman2051 it's a little far for me too, but it was worth it for sure
What bulbs did you need for the taillights and markers?
Marker lights are from @superbrightleds and the link is in the description. The brake lights are 1156 bulbs from auxbeam.com
