YES DUDEEE I’ve been waiting for a solid vocal analysis on Benson for awhile and I’m glad you made one! Been trying to figure out his technique for about a year now and there are still a ton of things I learned from this video. Fantastic job 👏👏
🤯 I was half expecting him to be beamed off the stage to an awaiting space ship taking him back to his home planet because… damn!!! He just does not seem of this world. Yet, you are still able to skillful dissect what he does and unveil at least some of the magic to help us understand and learn. Great analysis!
I have a bad habit of immediately dismissing vocalists because I don't like the songs. Thanks Chris for opening my eyes, or ears rather, to some great vocals I would normally not notice.
Exactly. Thats why i watch alot of vocal coaches / vocalists reacting to different singers. It may not be the kind of song I enjoy but I can always learn something from analysis of the reactors that I can maybe implement in my own singing under the shower ^^
Mate! I wanted a breakdown of this song as I kinda took on the challenge of learning it. I searched it followed by your name, and you uploaded it yesterday! What are the chances! Side note, I cannot begin to tell you how much watching your videos has transformed my vocal abilities and what I thought was possible with my voice. Thank you. Second side note (sorry), would love to see a vocal analysis of Missing You by John Waite from the 80’s
Enjoyed hearing your expertise on this. Benson was amazing when I saw him live last year. Flips, tons of energy and stellar vocals. Oh and he randomly spotted a high school ex girlfriend in the crowd 😂
Benson is my favorite artist! Check out his ACL performance, you’ll find a whole hour of insane vocals and backflips! His Jingle Ball performances also have incredible energy.
I'd heard this song in a grocery store or something somewhere and thought for being a pop song, the vocals were impressive and edgy. I really liked it but never knew the artist. I remember Rick beato not vibing with it and being surprised
The reason it was a key down might be because he was performing a lot around that time so he had to maintain his vocals He normally would perform in the normal key
Great analysis. My vocal range is pretty dope, I can definitely get up to those high notes, but I‘m struggling with properly mixing chest and head voice to get some power. Your approach helps a lot. I‘ll check out your online course for sure!
Hey Chris, great stuff, been watching for a long time! Possible to do this for "leave the door open", cuz what Bruno does is too crazy to be comprehended by somoene like me.
Chris, your videos are amazing, and a teacher with a great level like you reacting to so many great artists like Bruno Mars, Ado (and so many others), and analyzing and explaining all the techniques, is SO NECESSARY and helpful. I recommend you to listen "Us" by Aimer in live version, is a very beautiful song, and is produced by TK (the one who have produced Unravel). Thanks for your videos, every video was very useful for me and I've learned so much and get better with my voice. Greetings from Argentina and sorry for my bad English 🫶
@@chrisliepe you definitely should!! You should react to "kimi to xxxx shitaidake" which translates to "just wanna xxxx with you" They're horror based so the xxxx could mean anything. They are vocally trained by ado too, who you have reacted to quite a few times!
Chris... I just realized you haven't reacted to "Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight" live version yet. WHAT ?! :) Please do it. This last live performance he did.... It's just mind-blowing.
Hey Chris, love you and thank you for your top quality content. Would you please do a reaction to Cornell's "Seasons"? Would love to listen to it with you and also I didn't find any fine quality acapella of it online so I think you're the man to find it.
Hey Chris! You should react to Ado’s Live Performance of Dignity. I know you did the studio version-but the live is so worth it! The music is drowned out quite a bit and displays her pure vocals compared to most lives and studio.
That flip to singing is def backing track and him turned right down for that section. Watch it slowly and he starts singing before he even finishes landing the flip which anyone who has done flips on solid ground before (trickers etc) will tell you that is impossible to start talking(let alone belting) as your landing without your voice starting weak because you just held your breath and flexed your entire core to do the flip, then having an "OOOF" effect in the voice as you land because absorbing the impact makes you release the tensed muscles and your breath. I mean just go to a small ledge and hold a single note AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and jump off and see how you voice changes as you land absorbing the small impact, now amplify that with rotational force and more time in the air.
Chris can you react to Kim Yeji of KARDI (south Korean band] she sings a cover of Legends Never Die and River and its out of this world SENSATIONAL. You'll love the crazy textures her voice has. Would live your analysis of her voice.
Yes! Just released an original song on the channel last week called “hold the memory” and I have songs on Spotify etc.. and if you sign up for my free course, I also send you several songs for you to dig into. :)
Hey Chris, another incredible analysis. Your videos are always very helpfull. Can you try 白日 (Hakujitsu) from King Gnu? It is amazing and there isn't a proper breakdown of it yet.
Hey Chris really enjoyed the video. Can you please make an analysis video on a gospel singer GUY PENROD on his range. he has such a unique powerful mix. My humble request. I suggest you guys to check out also you won't regret.
Can you pls do a breakdown on the song get out by circa survive Anthony green has some of the best male vocals I’ve ever heard and I really would like to know what he’s doing
@ nah seriously he’s just different I’ve just always been hella curious to know if that style of singing is something he developed rather than it being natural, now obviously singing takes development but I wanna know if that style of singing is doable especially with a different voice type
I can sing the chorus which is supposed to be the difficult part, but it's impossible for me to reach the high head voice notes. I usually sing mixed parts easily, but my head voice is limited, and I don't know why
Please do an analysis of a musician named Fujii Kaze. Please do the LIVE version of a song called Shinonuga E-Wa. Specifically the LIVE version. I would link to it, but TH-cam deletes my comments for adding links. It has around 85 million views.
Amazing job Chris, Please watch and if you like react to Teddy Swims amazing beautiful performance of “some things I’ll never know” it will truly touch your heart. Its about 33 min into this video th-cam.com/video/tjH-KxSHgBc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9CnDgqdjGbOVPbay - Teddy Swims Live at Lowlands 2024

❤❤❤❤ thank you coach @chris been waiting for this for a long while …you are the best

And then you can eventually like the song too. Our minds can change! :)@@RedCnMn
It’s a great song
I love this song!
8:21 this is amazing on how to use your mixed voice!
I never noticed the compression he is using, gives him that power to make the vocal big and bold😊
Excellent analysis! I never knew what a trail was until this video, and it was super educational to learn about the different kinds of trails!
YES FINALLY. This dude's singing is goated
Love your break downs Chris ! Keep it up

Love Benson and loved your reaction❤
I love the music video for this song! Great analysis!
Enjoyed hearing your expertise on this. Benson was amazing when I saw him live last year. Flips, tons of energy and stellar vocals. Oh and he randomly spotted a high school ex girlfriend in the crowd 😂
Thanks Chris, hope his management look after the lad, great voice.
And he kinda has that Justin Hawkins look too. Both amazing vocalists in their own right. What a banger.
Great analysis. I can't imagine my voice having this grit, as my voice is very clean and soft. Haven't tried it seriously tho
Thank you I really appreciated this! Lots of little tips and tricks to try with my own voice :)
Benson is my favorite artist! Check out his ACL performance, you’ll find a whole hour of insane vocals and backflips! His Jingle Ball performances also have incredible energy.
There was an old Motown Trick where they would intentionally key up songs in the studio to get the singers to push and reach a little bit.
Sometimes that would work from a psychological approach
Excelente video y explicación!
6:22 my girlfriend thinking what the hell am I watching 😂
13:53 he even landed the flip on beat lol🤯
I'd heard this song in a grocery store or something somewhere and thought for being a pop song, the vocals were impressive and edgy. I really liked it but never knew the artist. I remember Rick beato not vibing with it and being surprised
You should do in the stars live version by Benson, he’s my favorite singer and I went to one of his concerts! he’s such a performer 🤩🤩
wow, awesome vocal coach
The reason it was a key down might be because he was performing a lot around that time so he had to maintain his vocals
He normally would perform in the normal key

Omg, you nailed it! He's very freddie mercury-esque! And so dramatic like freddie, too!
I always love your videos Chris! Great job!👏🏽 (ps still would love to hear you react to Michael Bolton! Amazing voice!)
Hey Chris, great stuff, been watching for a long time! Possible to do this for "leave the door open", cuz what Bruno does is too crazy to be comprehended by somoene like me.
He is amazing performer. Still miss you reacting to recent Florence + The Machine stuff.
Still missing a vocal gem Floor Jansen! with her project Northward- While love died
You should'nt ignore this voice!!!🫶

11:14 bro 😂 great video
If you're impressed with the front flip can't wait for the backflip reaction.
I love your videos!! When are you going to react to phantom siita, or have you already?
Not yet but great idea!!
@@chrisliepe you definitely should!! You should react to "kimi to xxxx shitaidake" which translates to "just wanna xxxx with you" They're horror based so the xxxx could mean anything. They are vocally trained by ado too, who you have reacted to quite a few times!
I saw some ressemblance between Benson B and Freddie M. the first time I saw him live too.
Most people just FLIP into head voice.
HA!!! Well played! :)
Chris... I just realized you haven't reacted to "Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight" live version yet. WHAT ?! :) Please do it. This last live performance he did.... It's just mind-blowing.

I really recommend you do an analysis of some Roy Kim songs! The song Bom Bom Bom is one of my favorites
Can you do a video on how to sing/scream like Burton C. Bell? Love your videos!!
12:15 I thought the same thing!
Chris can you react to Kim Yeji of KARDI (south Korean band] she sings a cover of Legends Never Die and River and its out of this world SENSATIONAL. You'll love the crazy textures her voice has. Would live your analysis of her voice.
Have you released any music yourself? If you have, then what is it called? I would love to listen to it
Yes! Just released an original song on the channel last week called “hold the memory” and I have songs on Spotify etc.. and if you sign up for my free course, I also send you several songs for you to dig into. :)
