UAW has done me well. When inflation happened, we got a Cost of living adjustment that raised our pay. We got cheaper health insurance and a readjusted contract to help with the price of living going up. I can’t complain. Fain walks the walk.

I work in a shop with both union and non union workers. The ones in the union are so useless I refuse to join them. The union Stewart in my department gets to work, puts on all of his safety gear for an hour, changes 1 lightbulb, and then needs to remove all his gear, put his tools away because it's break time. He repeats this process 4 times a day. Pathetic work ethic!

Why not? The company is making record profits, the senior execs and big stock holders are getting massively rich, so only their greed would make it unsustainable. Gm can compete with this contract and be successful IF and only if the rights of workers and unions are supported. We saw that this year, when non-union companies gave out big raises too - hoping to avoid unions in their business. You support a race to the bottom for workers to let the rich get richer because you fear losing the crumbs they are willing to give you. But as citizens, we can use the power of the US government to force the rich to share in the wealth that workers create.

GM and the UAW just crapped on many of their employees and members.
In Kansas City they were given the opportunity to get a 50,000.00 bonus to retire The CONTRACT stated that 2 percent of its work force would go in round 1 2024. Then round 2 and 3 later.
Only 2 percent of the KC plant was 38 people. Their Union Leader (DOUG) told them all on a Facebook video to sign up immediately, Even if they don't make the first cut. So my wife signed. They had 7 days to back out. 3 weeks later GM and the Union met. They said EVERONE WHO SIGNED IS DONE AUGUST 1ST
