Chris, if you road trip it to Bowling Green, please let us know over here on the east coast well in advance so we can meet you in person and plan a trip to see the C8. I head a Corvette club in North Georgia and will bring some folks with me and tag up with you and your folks. This would be awesome if it could all come together. I'd like to meet you personally and hang out a day or two and just talk Vettes and life. I'd consider this to be one of my bucket lists if it can happen. Tks!
I also live in North Georgia! What is the name of your club? I may like to come to a show sometime for advice and maybe some in-person Corvette experience.
We're in the Northeast corner at the border of GA and NC/TN. We are the Tri-County Cruisers because most of us live in 3 different counties. We don't have a web-site or facebook page. Most of the members are out of Blairsville.
Great video Chris. My favourite part of your modifications is the sound. WOW it sounds GREAT. You mentioned you eventually will replace current shocks with coil overs.what is the advantage of them? I'm plan to do that myself.
Hey Chris... Cool video man! Hey Bro... I was looking at your (Clear) DRL housing and I imagined it smoked... Man what a difference! I strongly believe that if you had smoked DRL housings, your 'Vette would look much better! Everything would coincide... It would match your wheels, stripes, top, front splitter, side skirts, well, you get the message. Everything would blend... Try smoking them with film if you don't want to spend the money on new housings. If you don't like it you can always remove the film. If you install the film right, you can't tell the difference between the film housing and the original smoke housing... Just food for thought Chris... Thumbs up as usual on this upload... Stay safe... Rico
Wow....you do get alot of questions; glad to see your paint and return of the car took place - now you are ready for your show this weekend; plan to be on the ground there mid morning. Still look forward to meeting up. Best! Soapbox Detailing of AZ. You have completed alot of mods and should be very proud of your vehicle. Talk soon.
Regarding your air conditioner not working properly. Have you ever looked at the interior temperature screen. The interior temperature senors go bad and won't allow the air conditioner to work properly. Nice car, great how to vids.
I have a question for you that is not specifically a car question, but rather an equipment question. How happy are you with the small lift you have. Would you buy it again ? The stats on it say it only lifts the car up to 17" I believe. Really enjoy your channel. I'm a C4 guy, so you're the guy with the new Corvette online. :) Take care Bud
I’m externally happy with it. Since I don’t have a high ceiling, I can’t get a full size lift. 17” doesn’t sound like a lot, but you can do just about everything. I’ve even seen people pull out transmissions, torque tubes, rear differentials with it.
You have to make it to the Corvette Museum. Let us know when you go. I have been there and it’s beyond awesome! We can flood the parking lot with C5’s. Also on that problem with your air-conditioning try going over to the passenger side underneath of the dashboard. Give it a decent hit right there next time it quits. If the fan comes on you have a bad connector to the blower motor.
Just to comment on lowering the car, I ran a staggered set of 18 fronts and 19 rears, when lowered on stock bolts I scrapped often. Then I went up to 19 fronts and 20 rears, (Forgestar F14's) and did not scrap anymore! Anyhow I bought CCA's Fat Momma's to protect the front rails.
the z06 coup was originally built to be an economy vette... but after having these built and put into production just before manufacturing they realized how bad it would be to cheapen the vette and vette owners dont want an economy car... aka its not a mustang ect... this is why youl see a few frc base model vettes.... but hey... it gave birth to the z06 line a nice middle of the road to a ZR1
What suspension code or package did your car start out as? I ask because I have the 2013 Z06 shocks on my 2002 C5, on a Z51/FE3 suspension. If you had a base model, you might want to find some 2001+ Z51 leaf springs, or preferably C5 Z06 leaf springs because the rear is different. I couldn't imagine having the soft base springs, because I now would like the Z06 rear spring. Also..... have you thought about doing a different rear gear like a 3:90?
Im pretty sure my car was a base car. I’m planning on coils down the road so I’m not too concerned with the springs right now. I e got a long list to get through before the rear gear is on my mind.
Great idea Chris you need to make more answer questions vids and get you a baseball cap logo My Corvette Life bet they would sell too more supporting for a just very needed cause your great with all the vids I never ran across one yet that was bad keep em coming Chris looking for your C8 next year.
Hey Chris, thanks for another informative video. I’ve been following you since I bought my 2000 C5 a year ago. I took Notice from the beginning of your Corbeau seats and just ordered the A4’s. I’ve heard (and I think you mentioned) that you will get an Error message on the dash display since they are not Powered seats. Any way to clear that message? Thanks. Randy from Sun Lakes, AZ.
Hey chris, can’t get the smashed targa off my mind. While I totally agree with your ideas and don’t think you can blame chev for an obvious mistake. We have all been there for sure. It really sucks that it happened but I have a 2019;stingray and have been grilled over and over again making the terrible mistake. I hope I never do but own up to it, suck it up, and move on. Buy a 2001-2004 , They have an LS6 intake manifold and block,ZO6 torque tube and drive shaft,(manual transmissions)and upgraded BPMV .The 1997-2000 (manual) torque tube is made out of thinner material.Drive shaft is whimpier,BPMV is of dubious internal design and are impossible to find to replace.( note; all C5 BPMV's have been discontinued) and the 1997-2000's have a known oil consumption problem due to bad piston rings, A lot of C5's have sticky clutch pedal problem, that might be remedied by purchasing a Lingenfelter spring return kit.Kind of a pain.A $50,000 car that has to have a spring installed under the dash to return the clutch pedal! This is late but the on off issue could be low freon or a bad pressure switch. Next is blockage somewhere in the system.
GOOD JOB.......

Great idea for a video. Nice job.
99 and 2000 were fixed roof coupes which I had a 2000 for 14 1/2 years 2001 went to the z06..
The FRC isnt a z06 only option there are some non z06 FRC’s out there as far as i know. But the FRC is largely equated with the Z06.
All FRC 2001-2004 are Z06. Z06 didn’t exist before 2001.

HiChris...wait, you said you used C7 parts on your C5 what was it, splitters and skirts?? wow...way cool car
The manufacture is called “C7 Carbon”. I know, its ironic and very confusing.
DO you plan on getting the air intake screens and to make any videos?
Already have them.
QUESTION: Will Stock C6 Wheels ( Z06 / non Z06 ) bolt onto a C5 ?
Scraping bottom is no problem if..... just upgrade to the C8 lift kit
Ken Lemanski at what cost?
The parts price list has not come out as of yet.
What site would you recommend to order the front fender decals you have on your car?
Not available. I made them myself.
Gotcha, would you mind sharing the dimensions of the decals?
Letaż see them fenders now

You can plug a relay of some sort into the wiring harness under the seat to trick the system. I haven’t looked too much into it yet.
Any plans on upgrading to a C6 Zo6? Those cars are really affordable.

Typically they come in-painted unless you find a used one. Try Vette Nutz
