This was the BEST video on step by step instructions for creating a coloring book. It took me so many tears until I got it right. Overall, after watching this video for about 8 times / I was able to understand the programs I needed (Vecteezy or PublicDomainVector) for my images. Trying to follow these steps on a single image after download...I'm back at square 1..
thank you for your great simple and easy way to explain how it work ,,i try that but when i download photo from vector and i Extract the download file they give me only one kind of format JPG not SVG ??? i try to find another soft wear to change the format from GPJ to SVG and then i use it in the Gravit editor but not allow me to edit ??? can you plese help me in that and thank you ...
I am really struggling with Vecteezy and Gravit. When I download images they come in as EPS and not SVG. When I upload into Gravit I cannot drag images to different pages to edit. What am I doing wrong and why am I getting EPS files?
:) Not all graphics downloaded from those sites come in SVG. :) So you will have to take a bit of time looking for those that contains SVG files.:) Some will say what's included in the ZIP file, others don't.
Both cover and interior are 8.5x11? And do I have to download the cover separate from the interior or together. Because in KDP, there's two option. Upload Interior then upload a cover. My question is, does cover and interior has to be the same dimensions or different. I get confused with the dimensions and I always get a red flag from both cover and interior but they are both the same dimensions.... Help! and thank you 😊
Hello. :) Both cover and interior are 8.5x11? Not exactly. For KDP, the cover dimension will depend on the number of interior pages you have that's why I always create my interior first so I know which cover template I will have to download later. :) And also, KDP cover templates include spine size. So basically, you have to double the width size plus the spine size and that will give you the width dimension of your book cover. :)
Hi great tutorial. Can I contact you to get help with my coloring book? I'm having several problems from copying to locating svg file. For some reason I'm unable to separate each image individually to be exported onto each page. Can I contact you privately?
As long as you combine them with other graphics, it will be ok. Please check this out: CANVA'S COPYRIGHT www.canva.com/help/licenses-copyright-legal-commercial-use/ thelegalpaige.com/blogs/blog/canva-copyright
Decent, yes. :) When I create coloring books, I normally put the images only on the right side of the pages - just in case the color bleeds. Left page will always be blank. Some people will put black or gray on the left pages though. :)
If it's just for personal use, I think it's fine. But if you plan on publishing it (commercial use), you have to make attributions or whatever says on their license. :)
Hi, I want to know one information, if I download any color images from Google and other's site, then modify the images with Illustrator and Gravit Designer. will it be copyright Issue?
I tried your method. It went well until I got to KDP. The free membership on Vecteezy.com REQUIRES AN ATTRIBUTION LINK for each picture. KDP won't publish anything that you don't own. I even tried Pixabay.com. They wouldn't accept them either.
Oh I think mentioned in the video that you need to enable the 'free images' under 'License' option. 😊 I do Kdp too and I don't have any problems as long as they're free images.😊 Thank you for watching. Please let me know if you have any more concerns.
@@travelingdesigner KDP has rejected 5 of my books because I used ( Free or PLR content) even though I spun the articles and edited the images. I will go back and try Vecteezy. Thanks. I just went there and enabled "Free" and I still got" Don't want to provide Attribution? Join Pro!"
@@86abell hmm Interesting. One way of providing attributes is to just put the site on your book. If it's from vecteezy, add Vecteezy.com in the final copy. :) Let me know if it helps you. Good luck!
I think you need to check the file. If it's in SVG, you can open it in Illustrator and save those images individually. Some of these files are not saved individually and that means you have to open them in a software that can open those files like Adobe Illustrator.😊
Hello, I’m watching your tutorial on doing exactly as instructed but when I download the file and try to pull it up in gravit it only shows the license
@@travelingdesigner yes just the license. So I have a Mac, once I downloaded the file and tried to upload it in gravit, it only pulls up the license and not the image of the cartoons for some reason
@@pleezebaleevit The downloaded file is a zipped file, yes? Did you open the zipped file? Did you find an SVG file there? That's the one that you need to upload to gravit. :)
@@travelingdesigner okay I figured it out. For whatever reason it wouldn’t allow me to open the file to get to the svg. Now I have to watch your video again because I was so frustrated with the file I gave up 😂
Great video thanks. I'm having a lot of trouble with vecteezy with the downloads. It's letting me do it no probs but the files are not svg when I get into the folder after download. Even the very same animals set of illustrations that you download and then chose svg to upload to gravit.io. I don't get that choice, I only get AI or jpeg. Would you know why?
@@travelingdesigner I would be interested to know if you ever found this answer because I am having the same issue. zipped file does not contain an svg file.
Thanks for the comment.😊 It is up to you to look for your preferred 'professional' looking graphics sir. 😊 This is just a sample. There are lots of images to choose from.

@Lachlan Andres I watch on FlixZone. Just google for it :)

I can try. :) hehe The process would be the same though. Just need to find easter images. :) Thank you so much!

Yes of course. As long as you follow kdp's rules, you'll be fine. And please mind the licenses of the images you're going to have in your book.😊👍

You're welcome. Yes, you need to find those with svg or even eps. Unfortunately, not all of them has it. :)
Free version for gravit only goes up to 150 dpi
Hi there, what do I need to do when it says "attribution required" on free vectors?
You just need to attribute the creator/designer of that image. Maybe you can put it on first or second page of your book.😊

@@travelingdesigner Thanks you
Why was the penguin contour lines or outline thinner and lighter then the outlines on the chicken? Is there a way to fix that?
It depends on your SVG images. Most times you can
Can we still use the images even if it says news attributiom?

Can you use your own image for this?
Definitely use your own image.😊

Find something that has an svg file if you can. :)
Is there a way you can create a coloring roadrunner for a table
I'm not quite sure what you mean. Care to explain? :) Thanks!
Since you don't show or go over this how do I get my svg file from the zip folder?
Open the zipped file - choose the svg you want - follow the steps in the tutorial. :)
How many pages do I need for my coloring book?
It's all up to you but KDP has a minimum of 21 pages for any low content books. :)
Can do this on a chrome book?? Very interested in doing this!
I believe so. :)
Can we use Gimp on this?
I haven't tried. :) But I think so. You can create interiors using any software that can do the steps here. :)
