    As an elementary teacher I love this! I teach my students to hunt for 'Easter eggs' which are the hidden illustrations on the case. This absolutely has gotten my students hooked on read alouds. Having that hidden illustration is thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed!! Thank you :)

    What a lovely review of a field I have almost no experience with (only having been read these types or stories as a kid, never doing anything with them professionally or having studied them). This is fantastic, nice work with this diagnostic!

    hi anoosha! thank you for creating this series to help emerging illustrators! if you are looking for more ideas for future videos, it would be so helpful to me to see what an illustrator/designer's resume should look like - what experience is valuable, how it is organized, softwares that are necessary to know, etc!

    Thank you for this video! Really loved learning about different definitions of the terms in the publishing world. A topic I'd suggest is about "how you illustrate based on the text of the manuscript", different ways to approach the same text as an illustrator. ❤📚🤩Thank you so much Anoosha!!

    This was really fascinating! Thanks! I've gone straight into a BA in illustration last year from a generic HND in art and, you know, we all do it, tried to go for my almost oil painting style when a tutor said "the secret is to be able to adjust your style to the market"....so I'm doing a picture book and it's far more fun than I thought putting my mind into that style and your tips are very helpful!

    I have some questions I love watching your videos on TH-cam, which print company you used for print? and did you publish a book yourself or why you didn't do it on Amazon KDP?

    • @AnooshaSyed

      I don't self-publish; I work with publishing houses who handle the printing process.

    Thanks so much for your videos, they are super inspiring! I was wondering if you could do a video about how you, as someone living in Canada, are able to sell at US venues. And what the process for doing that correctly is? It seems super confusing and full of paperwork :)

    Hey Anoosha, thanks for your videos. In one of them you mentioned you were working on a 5326x3300px canvas, for 300DPI. Is the size of the book you were working at 17.75" by 11"? Otherwise can you explain how you came across this size for your canvas?

  • @kerterm2779

    I would love to know what canvas size you use for procreate, dpi, and color profile! Also where did you get that one layer with the lines that shows where the drawing will be cut off?

    • @AnooshaSyed
      @AnooshaSyed  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I usually work in at least 300dpi, and I work in sRGB since the CMYK function on Procreate is REALLY bad. I convey this issue to my client beforehard and ask that they convert in-house.
      For the canvas size, it is dependant on the book project since every book is different! The template was also given to me by the publisher. For more info, it might be helpful to watch my other videos where I talk about how I illustrate my picture books.

  • @SecretSister-i7p

    Hey Anoosha
    If you were designing a family of characters (all main characters) for a picture book, how many options for each character would you give the client?
    And is it better to present them options for the family as a whole (e.g family in style 1, family in style 2) rather than showing them options for each individual character (e.g character 1 style 1). I'm probably over complicating it but would appreciate your advice if you get time! X

    Hi, this is very interesting thank you for creating theses videos.
    I would like to know the technical part, how many dpi what format, does my illustrations has to be on different layers or all on the same one? Should i save in jpeg or png? Does my illustrations have to be in vector? I have so much technical information question marks. Can you help ke with those? Thanks!

    • @AnooshaSyed
      @AnooshaSyed  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would work in at least 300dpi. It is helpful to work in as many layers as you can so edits can be made easily. I save my work as psd files for my art team. Does not have to be in vector.
