Nearly, Oasis just edge it for me.. Although, even Noel Gallagher said they & The Verve were better, even if later in the interview he backtracked.. I just appreciate being young when all these awesome bands were in their hayday.. Lucky man you could say!! 😁👍🥃
OCS are one of the best bands ever. I hope all fans know that by watching these official videos on this official page add towards sales, as well as streaming on spotify. I'm not sure everyone knows. I. know not everyone cares but they deserve to sell more. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
I remember I’d just say I like modern music that was popular because I’d never really got into music, but now I’ve gone back to listen to more music, I’ve grown to realise that music today isn’t really that good, there’s a few exceptions, but on the whole the modern day has nothing on it
God, yeah! Playing in a great, little band, had a lovely girlfriend and great mates and everything seemed possible. Great music in the charts, even the Beatles had new tunes out!! If I’d only known what was to come… 😂
Absolutely love this tune. Just now discovering OCS and it’s blowing my mind. I can’t believe the crap on the radio in the US in the 90’s, while all this amazing music was over in the UK.
90s UK was a time for great music. Oasis, The Verve, blur, The Charlatans, Travis, pulp, Supergass. USA put out a few belters too from what I remember.
I am nearly 40 and 1st heard this as inpatient within a Glasgow mental health ward in my early 20s. A fellow patient was playing it and after all these years come back to it- knowobdy in my life has a clue the meaning of this to me. Hearing voices- the nightmare comes- friends/family disperse. Sadly medicated and doing good- I still remember when folk ditched me.
With ocean colour scene, Simon Fowlers lyrics can often drift into streams of consciousness, abstract and poetic, rarely linear! With this song he's more direct, and his words paint a picture in your mind with each line, bittersweet, nostalgic, but very fun and heartfelt. It's one of the few OCS songs that gives me goosebumps when I sing along. For the record! The 90s was my era, as a musician I followed the careers of ALL the great 90s bands, and NO ONE writes middle 8s/bridges like Ocean colour scene, they really do put some care into that area of a song.
I listen to this 10 years ago when life it abit of a low lost my job had hard times, I listened to this and it told me there will be better days, once again 10 years later I am hear again and listening and hope I can pull through again.
Perfect melodic waves, riffs and shifts...Simon's voice is personal and universal at the same time. On its own, the tune is gorgeous but ths song is a mood and you have to be in a particular vibe for it to truly resonate. When you finally get "it" you get the message...and it hits hard...the truth is brutal. Good luck x
Unreal .I'm here 240421 . My son's birthday. Listened to this in car on way home from hospital the day he was born .Epic .Hope a Dublin tour soon ,🎸🎸🎸😎😎😎👌
Sonny signed his name up for tomorrow And laughed with all his friends At all the little men who borrow tunes They heard just yesterday Davey got us down but we got away And drank to all the days That we had whiled away Just playing Robin Hood a little out of phase And then the nightmares come And you get blown away And up in your room your walls are cold You find your head is holding out For the welcome of a better day And then the nightmares come And you get blown away And up in your room your walls are getting colder Like you're getting on a roller coaster You can't find the breaks Stevie burned the sky when he flew away And left us things to say When all the world was falling down Around our shoulders, cold and grey Harry carried on in his usual way And Minnie went inside He came out once and we both cried And Minnie blew my head away And then the nightmares come And you get blown away And up in your room your walls are cold You find your head is holding out For the welcome of a better day And then the nightmares come And you get blown away And up in your room your walls are getting colder Like you're getting on a roller coaster You can't find the breaks When you're giving everything away Everybody lets you pay You're saving up for a better day Seeing things in a better way When you know you've got to live There's nothing you won't give To hear the phone and not let it ring Every Monday morning Shughie found love and he almost cried We laughed and wondered why We loved the sky and found the space And gazed out over Stevie's place And then the nightmares come When your friends go away And up in your room your walls are cold You find your head is holding out For the welcome of a better day And then the nightmares come And you get blown away And up in your room your walls are getting colder Like you're getting on a roller coaster You can't find the breaks
It’s funny how sometimes I feel just a little old when listening to the music from good old days. But when you see how young Simon looks you realize we are all getting much older.
Experienced them live in Los Angeles California at the Troubadour! Live performances of music in small venues are ideal. Later on was able to experience Paul Weller live at Spreckles Theatre. In the 1990's, experienced The Pretty Things at The Whiskey.
@@nickyoung454 im 18 mate and yeah your right with that people just listen to whatever anybody else is listening to and shit off tiktok what a load of shit
The day this hit the radio I was decorating/spraying a new kwik fit garage roof In Aberystwyth It was cold wet windy as fook but this tune was being played every hr Bliss Looking back what an amazing time Thanks Simon/Steve/Oscar and the much missed Damon
I was watching the butterfly effect on prime last night which reminded me off the song (Stop crying your heart out) by Oasis so I searched to play it on Spotify and this song came on a few songs later. Forgot how much I love this song back in the day.
These guys should have been above and beyond.. It has to have been a management problem! Better than oasis, pulp, manic's, blur, seahorses, verve... Ect ect. World class to me!
I cant understand why these guys didnt become as big as Oasis. Such a superb band who were blew me away live at Stirling Castel back in 98. Still the best gig apart from Tje Stone Roses at gig on the green in Glasgow.
OCS never got the recognition they deserved, the best band of the nineties by a country mile. Would love to go back to those days again.
I know but those who know. Know
Nearly, Oasis just edge it for me.. Although, even Noel Gallagher said they & The Verve were better, even if later in the interview he backtracked.. I just appreciate being young when all these awesome bands were in their hayday.. Lucky man you could say!! 😁👍🥃
@stiofanofirghil1916 so many great bands eh, what a time to be alive!.
Think we were "Lucky men" 😜
Great band saw them a few times great memories and music 🎶
Unbelievable this only has 20 odd comments. One of the greatest tunes ever sung.
Morph 1981 classic👍

It’s crazy. People only seem interested in the latest trend nowadays and some great music gets forgotten about after a few weeks.
One of the best records ever listened too
I remember I’d just say I like modern music that was popular because I’d never really got into music, but now I’ve gone back to listen to more music, I’ve grown to realise that music today isn’t really that good, there’s a few exceptions, but on the whole the modern day has nothing on it
Sublime band , i'd go back to those times in the 90's in a heartbeat.
We all would mate….we all would
this brain and those age .. can I have that, please?
God, yeah! Playing in a great, little band, had a lovely girlfriend and great mates and everything seemed possible. Great music in the charts, even the Beatles had new tunes out!! If I’d only known what was to come… 😂
Me too 😂
Complete and utter masterpiece of a tune
Absolutely love this tune. Just now discovering OCS and it’s blowing my mind. I can’t believe the crap on the radio in the US in the 90’s, while all this amazing music was over in the UK.

We was truly spoilt
The 90s was the place to be. Even the boy bands and pop acts were a million times better than the rubbish out there today!
Absolutely a master piece!

Better days ahead 🙏

Best live band ❤❤❤
When words fail music speaks every one have a great life 🎵🎸👍
One of the most underrated tracks and indeed bands ever

Still stands the test of time in 2020 👍🎵

Did things work out
Absolute talent. All of them. They really didn’t get the recognition in the 90s they deserved.
They did. They were mainstream.
Perfect melodic waves, riffs and shifts...Simon's voice is personal and universal at the same time. Fantastic song by one of my favourite bands.Where has the time gone ? Take me back to the nineties please , anyone ?
My favourite song by these guys. Lovely melody and just a great chilled song
Music just seemed much better, brighter, fresher back then, as others have said don't think they released a bad song ever...
All time favourite tunes from them 👊🏻💪👊🏻💪👊🏻💪 miss those days
Sonny signed his name up for tomorrow
And laughed with all his friends
At all the little men who borrow tunes
They heard just yesterday
Davey got us down but we got away
And drank to all the days
That we had whiled away
Just playing Robin Hood a little out of phase
And then the nightmares come
And you get blown away
And up in your room your walls are cold
You find your head is holding out
For the welcome of a better day
And then the nightmares come
And you get blown away
And up in your room your walls are getting colder
Like you're getting on a roller coaster
You can't find the breaks
Stevie burned the sky when he flew away
And left us things to say
When all the world was falling down
Around our shoulders, cold and grey
Harry carried on in his usual way
And Minnie went inside
He came out once and we both cried
And Minnie blew my head away
And then the nightmares come
And you get blown away
And up in your room your walls are cold
You find your head is holding out
For the welcome of a better day
And then the nightmares come
And you get blown away
And up in your room your walls are getting colder
Like you're getting on a roller coaster
You can't find the breaks
When you're giving everything away
Everybody lets you pay
You're saving up for a better day
Seeing things in a better way
When you know you've got to live
There's nothing you won't give
To hear the phone and not let it ring
Every Monday morning
Shughie found love and he almost cried
We laughed and wondered why
We loved the sky and found the space
And gazed out over Stevie's place
And then the nightmares come
When your friends go away
And up in your room your walls are cold
You find your head is holding out
For the welcome of a better day
And then the nightmares come
And you get blown away
And up in your room your walls are getting colder
Like you're getting on a roller coaster
You can't find the breaks
Thanks❤
First CD I ever got.... Loved them ever since ♥️
I still think they are the most under appreciated 1990s band.
"Cosa mi aspetto dal domani?
Il sole in faccia no
Ma in fondo io ci spero ancora"
Io sono senza parole....è identica
what a shame, ragazzi... the italian TAROCCO. 😀
Cazzo è uguale!!
In effetti, dal titolo si evinceva già qualcosa!
Undoubtedly the best time for British music
It’s funny how sometimes I feel just a little old when listening to the music from good old days. But when you see how young Simon looks you realize we are all getting much older.
Been to see these twice at York and Middlesbrough the York crowd were shut but in Boro it was class
Experienced them live in Los Angeles California at the Troubadour! Live performances of music in small venues are ideal. Later on was able to experience Paul Weller live at Spreckles Theatre. In the 1990's, experienced The Pretty Things at The Whiskey.
Probably perfection.
Such a badass tune I remember these guys from my childhood
This band never got the recognition it truly deserved
Still a class act to this day
Amazing biography of the bands early days, rolled in to 4 minutes of musical perfection
This took me back to the younger days.
Beautiful video for a beautiful song
121 My favourite band. Their back catalogue is huge. There isn't a bad OCS song. Still doing gigs for the fans. ❤ Long live OCS!
Love OCS so underrated.
One of the biggest bands of the 90s. Hugely successful.
Amazing song from an amazing and very underrated band . OCS Keep the faith ❤
21 people have no idea... What life is about, best song of the 90's
23 now....Probably listening to some Cowell shit! 🤢

Still Playing in Seoul in 2020
and in Moscow!
Listening to it today too.
On a subway in Seoul right this moment too listening after a long day.
Beatles vibes
100℅ the Beatles.... ❤
Sailing dangerously close to Let It Be by the Beatles with piano tune, and then it goes very Mott The Hoople. I like it.
Amazing tune craig
Beautifully edited. What genius put that together? I heard there wasn't a great deal of footage...
2nd best band in world
Totally agree - disgrace that they never made it big time. Awesome tune
Never made it big time? They had five top ten albums.
My God a song of this calibur only has 70 000 views, that's fucking insane!
