    setelah tinggal lama di tokyo dan osaka, jadi kebiasa banget sama small space. Balik ke indo, kost-an lebar dikit aja udah males ngebersihinnya wkwk. sekarang beli apartemen pun pilih yang one room. kayaknya baru pingin space lebih kalo udah berkeluarga deh. terutama karena syaratku cari tempat tinggal, "harus di tengah kota besar!".

      hahaha iya tiap balik ke indo ak jg sama, kyk ke dapur dari kamar aja mager 😂 sadly i havent really had the chance buat punya one bedroom apartment di hk, soale mahal… kalo studio gt ok sih tp kalo too tiny jd kyk pengap (banyak mau emg wkwkw). From the US with our dramatically over-sized homes (granted, there's almost nothing to do and no real reason to leave my home except for work), to looking at the UK and Japan (imo they have functionally the same average amount of space - I think Japan's layout is more efficient whereas UK feels more roomy), I will never ever ever get used to how small Hong Kong spaces are. Nevermind the fact that something like 1/7 residents live under the poverty line in coffin-flats or other horrible conditions, or that with China flexing it's muscles it's harder to get out of Hong Kong than before.

    I could live very happily in this apartment! I don't think I need a huge space as long as I learn to manage clutter and the number of things I own. You're very lucky it came with a washer! A lot of apartments here in NYC don't come with those and you have to bring all your laundry to the nearest laundromat to wash your clothes. I would give up a little of my apartment space in order to have a washer instead.

      @sherendev  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh wow finally a positive POV from someone! :') hahaha it's not that often I receive a comment like this, so thank you! i totally agree with you -space wont be an issue if we can make it homey. :)
      i've never been / lived in NYC so i'm surprised! thought it's always a spacious apartment in the US... and same with HK actually, some flats don't have a washer but i can't just bear the thought of going to laundromat. :')

    I'm in America. I have so many questions. How do you date or have company or a pet? Is there a housing shortage in your city driving price? Where do you put all of your things? Do you get nervous in such a tiny area???

    • @sherendev
      @sherendev  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi hi! i don't think i can answer your first question because i don't date and i don't bring people into my room :) also, i never had a pet because raising one can be quite expensive here.
      - people with pets usually will have a bigger flat
      - housing shortage, i'm not too sure. some areas are newly developed, but yeah certainly pricing is super high here. especially in the city center
      - i put my things inside my room, because i don't have that many! :) i moved to HK 8 years ago as a student, so to begin with i have less things to bring with me. i also don't buy furniture
      - i don't get nervous in "such tiny area" because this one is really NOT the tiniest. you'll be surprised to see the real tiny flats in HK. also, my culture shock has been long gone, i've been here for long enough so i don't feel "suffocated" anymore :)
