Welcome to another episode of Living (alone) in Hong Kong! This time, I wanted to show you my ordinary (almost boring) life: what it's like living in a studio apartment and how I spend my weekend.
On most weekends, I will not go outside unless I have some plans or errands. I don't really mind, honestly - it's been a year since the covid era began so I feel like I'm already used to staying at home (hashtag, new normal). And I've been living alone since 2017 anyway, so I don't really feel lonely or anything. I think my record without human interaction is 5 consecutive days... 😂
That being said, I must admit that most of the time I'll literally just do nothing at home, and I will end up feeling bad about myself. So these days I'm trying to be more productive - journaling, editing videos, etc. 😌 I'm also trying to go out more - alone or with my 1 or 2 friends (I don't have that many hahaha) - to balance out my inner couch potato. 🥔

That reminded me of the 5 months I spent living alone back in Kornhill Apartments in Quarry Bay. Going to Aeon, buying veges, just casually cooking them. Going to the laundry room...very well made video

yeah i agree, HK in general is an expensive country to live in :') i'm actually just a normal employee lol i wish i was this big guy in an i-bank haha! i work in a software company but in sales/account department! :D during the past 3 yrs it's been enough to finance myself here~

Hellooo! It will depend on where you work honestly, because eventho commuting is easy here, sometimes it will take 1 hr bus ride / changing mtr stations if its too far.
Second, i think it depends on yourself whether you want a quiet life or a busy life hahah. HK island (blue line) is definitely busier, more expensive but very convenient.
If you work in Kowloon area then some places are somewhat cheaper.
If you dont really mind taking ferry + mtr everyday to work, then can consider the islands (Mui Wo, Ma Wan, Peng Chau) :)

Hey! Just wondering is hong kong hard to live in if you can't speak cantonese/chinese? Are there many people that speak english in the city or not really?
hello! I would say that some days are pretty hard, especially if you're going to a local neighbourhood or taking mini bus (with no bell). but most of the shops here are quite internationalized, especially in the city. like local restaurants (if not too local), will usually provide english menu. taking taxi, sometimes it can be hard if the driver can't speak english, but we can always show the address in chinese.
so it really depends on what you're doing and where you're going! :D

oh wow it's interesting that you associate living alone = not finding love... for me "finding love" plays zero part when it comes to living alone or not; maybe it's just my culture or belief. plus i got some specific reasons why i love living alone haha (which i've stated quite often on my apartment tour videos)
